IF THERE WAS ANYTHING MORE SERENE than an ocean that was mostly deserted due to it feeling colder than usual, i would have to see it for myself

because as of this moment, there was nothing more relaxing that sitting in sans arms on top of his cars trunk admiring the beach

“do you think jungwon would like me” i stared at the man with a small smile on my face and chuckled “of course, jungwon would love you, you’re amazing” san smiled and told me that his daughter would love me as, she’s very alike to me

“so what’s the plan when we get back to suwon y/n, when i say i want to do this right i do, but i also want to make up for lost time between us you know”

i smiled and stared down at my feet while i thought of an articulate answer “we don’t have to rush, but he have each others contacts, so whatever works”

it was quiet again until i broke the silence “um, would seohee’s mother be disappointed if i got close to her? i understand that a lot of women don’t want any other woman to raise their kid except for them”

san scoffed and shook his head “seohee’s mom would probably pay you to be close to seohee, she doesn’t like motherhood, but she doesn’t want to abandon seohee, she more so sees her as a liability and not a child unfortunately”

a frown formed on my face and i could tell from his voice that it bothered him “well thank you for letting me meet her when the time comes, i think i’m a good influence on kids”

san chuckled and nuzzled closer to me and it all fell silent around us, and i felt as if i could fall asleep, if it wasn’t for san speaking again

“do you wanna touch the sand?” “yeah hold on” i got off of him and smiled as he held onto my hand as he got off as well “it’s beautiful isn’t it” “it sure is”

it was quiet for a moment and only to be broken when i could feel san staring at me, i pretended not to feel it, but you could only be so discreet

i smirked as i gripped his hand tighter “do i have something on my face choi?” san smirked as he nodded “actually you do let me get it for you”

before i could retort i felt a small peck against the skin between my lips and cheek causing a gasp to pass my lips “there we go”

i broke out of my surprise and giggled “hm, no you missed something on yours, bend down for a bit bub”

san raised his eyebrow but still listened, and i smiled as i pulled his lips closer to my own, “i missed this”

i stared down at his lips when he didn’t reply and saw as he licked his own lips in anticipation “but most importantly i missed you” and with that i pressed my lips against his

THERE WAS MANY THINGS THAT SAN HAD questions for but there was the exact opposite with the answers

san sighed as his feet played in the sand as he absentmindedly walked thinking about all of the information he had learned from twitter of all apps

he learned that he possibly had a son with the woman he’s been hopelessly in love with but moved on

she had two beautiful kids (he thought she may have had another but it turns out that he is his alleged sons best friend who seemed to be like another son)

he wasn’t upset that she moved on per say but he was upset that he hadn’t had the chance to tell her how much he loved her, and raise their son together if jungwon was really his

a sigh befell san as he continued walking until he remembered that seohee would love to have a brother and if jungwon was really his, he had to atleast let seohee meet him

san had lost his opportunity to see jungwon be raised, and it left a bitter taste in his mouth, he wanted to be the man who had the opportunity to give jungwon another sibling, not the man who currently gave his ex girlfriend her younger daughter

but life was funny and san didn’t even realize that the cause of his overthinking was beside him until a shout alerted him

san’s heart began to pound as he looked at the boy who had currently gotten a nasty sting cause by a jellyfish and despite his inner voice telling him that he should call someone he had to help him

“hey that looks bad let me take you the the er”

and at the call of his voice, jungwon turned back and told him it was fine “i got stung by one of those and it was not in fact fine, atleast let me call someone for you”

jungwon sighed and told him the name that caused his heart to flutter and despite his heart swelling he stuck to the task at hand “now to the er, your mother knows your going to the sangju er”

THERE WAS MANY THINGS THAT MADE ME love namhae as much as i do, and all of those things put together would never come close to the way i felt watching sunoo and hyein gang up on jungwon who came outside to sit in the sun to let his freshly-washed-dyed-red hair air dry but was now soaked from the pool

a giggle befell my lips and i nursed a cold cup of dr.pepper knowing that my caffeine addiction stemmed from drinking these late nights with san

sometimes i wondered if san even thought of that summer we shared or if i faded into an ugly hidden part of his mind, or even became a love story he tells his wife about before he met and while he’s glad he’s experienced it, he’s happier with her

that thought let a bitter taste in my mouth, but in the end it didn’t matter, the relationship that him and i had shared was almost two decades ago jungwon was old enough to drink, so i dont even think that he would want to meet the man

and some how that left a bitter feeling in my chest.

as i spiraled into my teenage thoughts a splash of water made my neck snap up towards hyein who looked absolutely guilty “seonwoo told me to do it”

the cold feeling of water seeping through my tank top and sleep shorts made me raise my brow at the girl “and i’m telling myself to pour even more water on you” “WAIT MOM NO”

and that’s how i spent the afternoon no longer thinking of the lovable man who fathered my only son
