Frest Start

The TL;DR is that the streaming platform I was on indefinitely suspended an account that I had started streaming on almost a year to the day from when I started it, fifteen minutes after sending me an email that there was "suspicious activity" on my account. Nobody in customer support would reply, and the "appeals" process is useless at best, or deliberately broken at worst.

I like to consider myself moderately patient, and I usually do my best to follow the rules, etc. They provided no information to me about what happened, and if I was in violation of their rules/ToS, I was not given adequate tools to defend myself or rectify the situation.

I've looked at/been on other platforms, and what I miss most, what they took from me, was a year of building a community and a network of professional friendships and acquaintances that did wonders for bringing me out of some very heft depression and anhedonia.

I don't and didn't stream for financial gain or fame; it was something for me to do that gave me a reason to keep going, and a way to feel like I was at least a somewhat productive member of society.

As I did for the last year, I will be streaming to bring awareness to/support for charity. Previously, we supported Children's Miracle Network. This year, we will be supporting Child's Play, an organization that provides games and gaming devices for hospitalized children.

I'll be streaming mostly Starfield to start, but will be doing a lot of roguelikes and soulslikes. The first stream will be at 8PM EST September 5, 2023, and I look forward to meeting both new and old friends.
