Commander Signas as a Pokemon!

I was originally planning on making him a Staraptor, but I felt like their aggressive nature and reckless fighting style conflicted with Signas's more cautious and calculating way of doing things. I also felt like a more brain-focused pokemon would suit his personality better, so I chose Beheeyem in the end. In a way, him having a giant head and smaller body also fits since his mind is his greatest strength.

The only thing I don't like about Beheeyem is the fact that they can tamper with people's memories however they please. Like... This thing could ruin your life. 😨 Luckily, Signas would recognize the damage he could potentially cause with this power, so he'd hold back a lot when using it. I can imagine that the most he'd do is make a foe forget that they saw him, or temporarily forget who he is so they'd leave him alone.

Also, one thing you may notice about him is that he's a shiny. This was actually an accident on my part. When I was first imagining him in my head I was like: "I'll just make his eyes blue to make him more recognizable." Then I found out that shiny Beheeyem *also* has blue eyes, so I decided to go the rest of the way with his colors.

As for how he'd behave in a story (set in the Mystery Dungeon world), I think Signas would be the least alarmed out of all my muses, but he'd also have a million questions. When he'd wake up on the beach with the others, he would stay completely calm and begin analyzing his new surroundings. I think he would be the first to get his bearings, and he would be able to gather several facts about about their current environment using his calculations. I even imagined him using the shadows to calculate the circumfrence of the planet at some point, and finding that it's somewhat smaller than the Earth. Overall, his intellect would be exactly the same as when he was a reploid, but now he'd be able to read minds, and even look into people's memories with a bit of concentration. He'd also have the odd habit of raising his arms and flashing his lights in sequences every time he'd talk to people telepathically. Nobody can understand the code except for him though (which is innate knowledge for this pokemon species). I'm not really sure whether he'd translate this secret code for others or not, but knowing him, he'd more likely keep it a secret.

I also think that even though General would be in the 'party,' Signas would kinda end up as the leader in the beginning since he'd already have a clear plan of action. He'd also be a source of stability for the others - who would definitely be pretty confused by this whole situation. Also, due to his investigative nature, he'd often go out of his way to ask questions and learn more information about this new world. I can imagine him mainly trying to piece together how he and the others got here, and how to return home - if possible. He'd also quickly figure out that this world seems to operate on different 'rules' than his own, so he'd start recording them so that he wouldn't be caught off-guard. I can imagine that when the group would find a town to settle in, during the night Signas would find some parchment and start writing a bunch of notes and drawing charts so he could share them with his friends. I can imagine him even making the beginnings of a type-effectiveness chart, which would be filled out as he'd observe (and participate in) numerous battles. Also, for some reason I get the feeling that he might not need to sleep as a Beheeyem, so he'd probably be doing that all night. If I go with this headcanon, I can also imagine him looking at the stars and trying to see if he can recognize any constellations, but he wouldn't be able to find anything familiar - indicating that they could be at a completely unknown point in space. Maybe even an entirely different universe. I feel like deep down, even he'd be a bit troubled by that thought. If he can't get back home, he can't lead the Hunters anymore, or fulfill his promise to his creator. He'd also never see Alia again... He'd probably decide to keep all of this to himself for the time being.

While writing all this I also kept imagining how Signas would move. I pictured that most of the time he'd be levitating with his arms folded behind his back, but I also imagined him sometimes perching on surfaces that would normally be too narrow or fragile to support his weight. Sometimes he'd walk around normally if he's in an enclosed space, but I think he'd usually prefer to hover around since it would take less effort. It also kinda reminds me a bit of how Meta Knight always stands on things to make himself seem taller in the Kirby anime. So... Maybe this is something Signas does subconsciously since he used to be WAY taller.

Anyways, I guess that's all I have to say for now. Since you've made it this far, here's a scrapped black variant of my design:

I honestly think this looks way better, but I decided that it strayed too far from what a Beheeyem could plausibly look like.

I made Signas in Miitopia! To be honest I’ve had him sitting in my gallery for a long time, but I just recently decided to update him. I kinda feel like his face is a bit too wide, but this was the most rectangular jaw they had in the mii maker. Anyways, this is probably my closest depiction of how I imagined Signas’s hairstyle to look (just ignore that tiny ponytail on top of his head). I also wasn’t really sure what class to make him at first. I think if it were up to him he’d be a cleric, but I already have Lifesaver as my party’s cleric, so I decided to make Signas an Elf instead - though his ‘wig’ stops his elf ears from appearing - essentially reducing him to a magic archer. I thought it would kinda fit since Signas dislikes melee combat, and Elves can have some support effects (I think?).

Like Colonel, Signas also hates showing skin. He may look calm in the 2nd pic but deep down he’s mortified.

“Predator & Prey”

It’s probably not very clear, but Signas and Redips are actually supposed to be looking at eachother (specifically, Redips is behind Signas). I also had the headcanon that Redips’s pupils glow in the dark, and he has some sort of special augment to his vision.

This scene is based off of an idea I had for Redips’s backstory. I haven’t really decided if Redips was built for his position or he earned it, but at some point he decided that he wanted to become the Supreme Commander (basically the overseer of the entire worldwide Hunter organization). But... that spot was already occupied by Signas.

Redips had used harmless amounts of manipulation before, but he was willing to consider less scrupulous methods to get what he wanted this time... However, he also knew that Signas was always vigilant. Nothing ever seemed to escape his notice. If Signas discovered any foul play, Redips would lose everything. He would have to very carefully probe for potential weaknesses in Signas’s defenses if he even wanted a chance at success.

In the picture, Redips is thinking: "... His face is impossible to read... Does he already know, and is just waiting for me to make the first move?" And Signas is thinking: "... He may act friendly, but he consistently watches me whenever he thinks I'm not looking... I don't know for sure what he wants from me, but I get the sense I'm being targeted somehow... I'll have to keep a close eye on him."

In the end, Redips couldn’t find a chink in Signas’s armor. Even though the Commander was well-liked and sociable, he lived in a fortress of secrecy. Not even his closest friends knew anything useful about him. He also realized that Signas likely had even more friends and allies than he let on, and there was no telling where they could be.

Eventually, Redips had to give up. I imagined that his career lasted for a total of 30-or-more years before finally going maverick. (The funny thing is that Signas would have probably been significantly older than him by Command Mission, and still content with his place in the world).

As for Signas, I imagined that he was actually surprised when he found out what Redips had done. He had suspected he was up to something, but had no idea it was this bad.

SENSEI style practice ft. Alia

Sometimes I occasionally try to come up with Signas and Alia doing a bit of couples’ bickering, but then I realize that realistically they just... dont?

I feel like it would be rare (or at least uncommon) for them to have disagreements. Signas is also the kind of guy that never needs to be nagged about anything either, since he doesn’t slack off or waste money. Alia also understands that Signas will only ask for advice when he needs it, but he does appreciate being asked about what he’s doing and if he needs any help though. When they’re both on the same page, Alia’s perspective can still be helpful, even if Signas already knows what he’s doing.

If Signas and Alia ever get married, I think that Alia would be just fine with letting Signas be the head of the household. I mean... even before they were together, he proved himself to be a very competent leader. She’d have no problem putting her trust in his judgement.

Writing Signas’s strategic mind in action kinda makes me realize how valuable his accelerated processor is. It SIGNIFICANTLY cuts down the planning phase, which allows him to mobilize his hunters even sooner than normal. Response times are critical when it comes to maverick hunting, so his quick strategizing is a huge help.

Sometimes I think about adding Douglas to this blog to complete the Maverick Hunter trio (much like how I have a Repliforce trio on my main blog) and then changing my url to RP-HunterBase, but... To be honest, I don’t have any muse for him at all. He definitely has an appealing design though.

I guess I’ll just leave that spot open in the case any other Douglas muses come by. XD

I think it’s funny how every time I’m struggling in Mega Man X5, I find myself glancing at Signas for guidance.

But... then he basically shrugs and goes: “I don’t know, I haven’t beaten this game either.” “Also I wasn’t paying attention.“

I think what he might actually say though is: “I noticed you're having trouble with Sigma’s Hell Blade. I can understand why, because the room is narrow, the projectiles are wide, and the shape makes it difficult to judge where exactly you’re safe. His attacks also appear to be randomly chosen, making it difficult to predict what to do next. Looking back, I can also see that being hit more than once causes you to lose your cool and become confused, increasing your odds of taking an additional hit.“

“I would suggest staying in the middle of the wall, which in theory should reduce the distance you’d need to travel in order to dodge all three variations of Hell Blade.“

“In the end, it all comes down to your reflexes. That’s not something I can help you with, but I know you can succeed with enough perseverance. Good luck, Paint.“

(By the way I just followed my own muse’s advice and it actually kinda helped. 0.0)

I found another song that Signas would want to serenade Alia with.

He would probably just play it while they’d slow-dance instead though, since he’s not as good at singing.

If Alia found out why though, she’d say: “Well... Even though he has a beautiful singing voice, I think I’d rather hear yours.“

I just realized that Alia probably gets really tired sometimes. Not just from her job occasionally waking her up in the middle of the night, but also because she goes out of her way to help the other navigators and hunters with various tasks when she has the time.

Stuff like: The new girl needs some help fixing a graphical glitch on her computer. A hunter lost his friend in a recent mission and needs someone to talk to. One of her friends wants to know how to braid her long hair so that it won’t get in her way, ect.

It’s a good thing she has Signas to take care of her when she’s feeling exhausted.

I was just thinking that something that would really annoy Signas would be having his advice or warnings ignored.

He doesn't give advice unless he's carefully thought his words through and is absolutely sure he knows what he's talking about, so having it completely disregarded is kinda frustrating. You wouldn't really be able to see it in his face, but he'd definitely be feeling it.

He wouldn't get mad though. Just disappointed. Especially if that person gets hit with the consequences exactly like he said they would.

I recently tried the the 16 persoanlities test on Commander Signas, and it says that he's an ISFJ. Also known as a "Defender." At first I was surprised, but reading the personality type's introduction, it sounds just like him.

One of the things that really caught my attention is how it described him as "rarely demanding recognition." I know that even though Signas is the leader and often the center of attention, he seems to give more credit to X, Zero, and Axl. They're the big heroes that everyone adores, while he's just the one who tells them where to go and ensures their needs are met. In all of Signas's work and accomplishments, he always has this humble attitude of "I'm just doing my duty."

Sometimes I wish I could try RPing as Signas in minecraft (like I have with Colonel & General in the past), but there’s no way I can do him live.

Like... nearly EVERYTHING he says and does gets revised 2-4 times in my head, so his intelligence and reflexes would take a big hit.
