So, going along with the headcanon I have, there is this small town area, where the long term residents can have a taste of a non-military life, to an extent.

There's a shop, a pub, a large car park for visitors, a town hall where you'd get an award and the only area on the actual base where non-military people are allowed.

So, for example, if your were in the military and you were getting married or won a prestigious award, you and your loved ones could celebrate it in the hall and they could attend. You don't need special military clearance to come to this zone, but you will got stopped at security and you and your vehicle will be searched on the way in and the way out. You'd also be unwise to assume your every movement wasn't being watched by security cameras or personnel. 👀📷

The only residential lot in this area is the townhouses which you can see nestled alongside some hood decor (another idea I got from @teaaddictyt's video here! You really can tell I've been binge watching all her content! 😂 I did it to @anibats and now it's Tea's turn! 🥰😘) I haven't completed the townhouses yet as I literally made the shell before I got inspired to do another lot, but that is my task for today...after I figure out why my custom food is crashing my game!

On the south edge of the town area, is the entrance to the actual military 'Hush Hush' area of the base. That will be the next post, as that is where the recruits live/work along with the Counter Intelligence officers.

This is a small town square, inspired by the one from TS3's Sunset Valley, and as it's military, it's more of a ceremonial place to hangout. Despite the small military school opposite, it's not built for children, but rather and area where celebrations/parades might be held when military personnel win an award at the town hall building.

So, this is the General's home, which is large and spacious but I wanted to keep it on the grand side without being impossible to run on my computer!

Originally built by @teaaddictyt here, I loaded it into my game without any CC and then spent the better part of an afternoon renovating it.

This home is in its own private area of the gated community so there's distance from the base, but they can always travel quicker there, either by road or helicopter.

So I'm going to give you all a little tour of my military subhood whilst I sort out my mods folder, and make my game not crash everytime I go into buy mode. 🙈

I was inspired by @teaaddictyt's video on her own military subhood and loved the idea of having housing that gets nicer the higher you climb the ranks of the military career. So these homes, in this small gated community area are for the higher ranks (Level 7,8 & 9 - Snr Officer, Commander & Brigadier*).

*I use this mod by @episims to change the Astronaut rank title.

The first two homes were built by AlexArt and can be downloaded here and here. I just tweaked them a little with the flooring and walls.

The other homes in dark brown are a WIP, as they're based off houses that are across the road from where I live, but I'm not 100% happy with the design, so I'll update this post when I complete them. They are much bigger and will be for the level nine military personnel, as they're more likely to have bigger families. I might need to make the small homes with more bedrooms, but this is how they are atm.

And this helps give perspective in the hood view. This is one of the four main areas of the map.

Looking from the top picture to the bottom one, you have the main bus port that brings in all the recruits and the airport, which is mostly used for shipping, but is also run by the military. Looking at the second picture, the entrance to the military town is on the right hand side, and then that leads to (not pictured) what I call the 'Hush hush' top secret main base hub.

My headcanon for the subhood is that even though Campbell Quay is a growing town, this military existed before the town's creation and thus, was not funded or designed by Althea. Rather, a fee is paid so that military can pop into the town ect, but I don't see much involvement in the town of the military's part tbh.

The house on the left hand side is the General's home and that will be the next post. I renovated it to suit my needs and there's a lot of pictures for that one!

🎉🎂As it's my birthday today, I decided that I will give you all a sneak preview into something I've been working on for Campbell Quay. The CQ posts have paused whilst I was building a new subhood which I built after being inspired by @teaaddictyt's video. You might not see much of this hood in the series, but I was in the zone to build and decorate a hood. I'm also trying to go through my mods folder, especially as I have quite a few I don't know what they do!

Question...what's happened here? 🤔

I am playing around with my game, replacing mods ect and I use CleanUI. Fairly certain I've got it still in my Downloads, and I have just merged my CC. Got the original folders to roll back if needed, but never had this before!

When I click on Sort by Room, they appear, same with Collections. edIT: I reloaded the lot and now it's working...huh.

Re-reading Campbell Quay makes me smile 🥰

I love how whenever I write something, I'm always happy to go back and read it, and actually enjoy it. I'm able to look back and not be in 'writer mode' where I'm constantly checking typos/spelling/grammar.

I'm currently reading the first round of the Residents household and I forgot how funny Cheryl and Tony's start to their relationship was, for example. Not sure I should be laughing this hard at something I wrote but I know that, in the moment, I went with what felt natural.

Considering that I'm not actually writing on the newer posts of CQ, everyone's been here, EVERY DAY without fail in to catch up on characters that I've had a tidal wave of fresh ideas for.

Seeing everyone come back in force after being away from the series for a year really warms my heart, and I'm so happy I have you all here supporting me.
