If you want to be successful, you have to be proactive, not reactive.⠀ ⠀ You set 5 alarms because you know yourself.⠀ ⠀ After the 5th alarm has gone, it's time to get up. You can't snooze any longer.⠀ ⠀ You rush out, grab a cup of coffee and then run out to get to work.⠀ ⠀ You arrive at work, still in an anxious state and get started.⠀ ⠀ The day drags on and you can't wait to be off so you can go home and finally relax.⠀ ⠀ Time to head home, you sit in traffic, feeling sluggish and lethargic.⠀ ⠀ When you get home, all you want to do is sit down but not before grabbing something quick to eat.⠀ ⠀ You inhale your food and crash on the couch. You turn on Netflix, 4 hours later and you get to bed.⠀ ⠀ This was me. Until it wasn't. I reacted to my life instead of being proactive.⠀ ⠀ Waking up rushed and anxious wasn't the life I wanted to live.⠀ ⠀ I learned a few morning routines and finally found the one that works with me.⠀ ⠀ Now instead waking full of anxiety, I get up when the only alarm I set goes off. ⠀ ⠀ I take my time and start working on my mindset. ⠀ ⠀ ✅I start with all the anxiety and stress I'm feeling. I write it all down for 5 minutes.⠀ ✅After I've dumped all the anxiety and stress, I want to fill that space with good stuff so I work on my gratitude.⠀ ✅Then I move onto my highlights. These can be from my life, my week or yesterday. I applaud myself, I am proud of myself.⠀ ✅Depending on how much time I put into this, I visualize my future. What am I feeling, what am I doing?⠀ ✅I then move on to affirming this future. By repeating and training my subconscious to remember what I want.⠀ ✅The last thing I do is take action. I pick ONE thing I am going to work on that is going to get my closer to my future.⠀ ⠀ This can take 25 mins or as long as 1hr. I don't get along with women...⠀ ⠀ I remember as a kid my family members who were women loved to gossip.⠀ ⠀ I thought to myself, "How can I trust women, if all they do is talk shit about each other?"⠀ This stuck with my subconscious programming for years. All the way through college. ⠀ ⠀ I didn't make deep connections with women. It was always superficial. I didn't want to let them get too close. ⠀ ⠀ I knew they would talk shit about me behind my back.⠀ ⠀ Was this true of every woman? No, but I acted like this. I created a reality where I can't trust women. I put this energy out and repelled all women.⠀ ⠀ It was my subconscious programming that led me act in a manner where I pushed women away from my life. I didn't allow women to get close to me. I wasn't vulnerable with women. I created this reality.⠀ ⠀ I can't trust women. Hence, when it came to opening up and being friendly with other women, I didn't do it. ⠀ ⠀ But the reality I created was that, they were the ones that were acting some type of way. See? That's why I can't trust them. ⠀ ⠀ ❌Self-fulfilling prophecy❌⠀ ⠀ I took a step back and created a different reality for myself. Instead of waiting for women to come to me, I put myself out there. I reached out to other women. I allowed myself to be vulnerable. ⠀ ⠀ 😳It was terrifying because I ran the risk of getting fucked over. I did it anyway.⠀ ⠀ Guess what happened? ⠀ ⭐I started appreciating women more. ⠀ ⭐I started learning about my beliefs and the person I don't want to me. ⠀ ⭐I started attracting more women to me. ⠀ ⠀ Interesting how that works right? I started taking action and putting myself out there.⠀ ⠀ And you may be thinking, "Ruth, what if you do open up and they stomp all over you?"⠀ ⠀ This may happen, but you have to remember that this comes from their reality. You don't know how their beliefs and reality formed. ⠀ ⠀ You can only control how you react and what YOU decide to believe. I’ve always been the fat one...⠀ ⠀ Being called gorda or pansona in my household at the time seemed normal.⠀ ⠀ It wasn’t a nickname. If you’re fat, you’re ugly. If you’re fat, you don't deserve love.⠀ ⠀ At that time, I didn't know that being these things would affect me later in life.⠀ ⠀ As a result, it led me to become a yo-yo dieter.⠀ ⠀ You're thinking, "Ruth, we all gone through stuff as kids. You get it over."⠀ ⠀ I am here to challenge you and tell you, that you don't. It seeps into your adult life. ⠀ ⠀ ❌Why are you so afraid of committing?⠀ ❌Why do you have to be nice to everyone so you’re not seen as a mean person?⠀ ❌Why are you so afraid of failing?⠀ ❌Why do you REALLY want to lose weight? So they accept you?⠀ ⠀ ✖️I wanted to lose weight because I didn’t want to be fat. ⠀ ✖️I wanted to lose weight to please family.⠀ ✖️I wanted to lose weight because I wanted love.⠀ ✖️I wanted to lose weight because I wanted to stop being ugly.⠀ ⠀ But that was never enough. I would lose weight but I never felt good about me.⠀ ⠀ I didn’t know what was missing. I didn’t know why I kept yo-yo dieting.⠀ ⠀ Then it clicked one day. ⠀ ⠀ I would get anxiety going over my parent's house because weight was always a topic of discussion.⠀ ⠀ I couldn’t keep the weight off because I was looking for someone else’s approval that would never come. ⠀ ⠀ I needed MY approval. That was the block. That was what kept me in a loop of pain and insecurities.⠀ ⠀ I identified my block and started working on my self.⠀ ⠀ ✅I started by asking myself questions.⠀ ✅I stopped obsessing about losing weight.⠀ ✅I started educating myself about exercise and nutrition.⠀ ⠀ I’ve lost 25lbs and have kept it off for the past 3 years because I’m not in pain anymore.⠀ ⠀ I take care of my body and my health because I love ME. ⠀ Not because I want to please other people. Not because I HAVE to. ⠀ ⠀ I GET TO. I get to love my body. I get to take care of my body. 3 Steps To Saying What's On Your Mind⠀ ⠀ 1️⃣Visualize yourself having the conversation with someone and see yourself having a happy and honest conversation. You get anxiety because you visualize the worst scenario and create these feelings of anxiety. Do the opposite, visualize a good scenario and feel the joy and it will completely change the situation. Trust me, it works.⠀ 2️⃣Start by saying what's on your mind in front of a mirror. Practice speaking up, and saying words out loud. This will help you get into the action of saying what's on your mind. Action is part of the game. Saying What's On My Mind Without Sounding Mean⠀ ⠀ I used to get so angry because I never said what was on my mind.⠀ ⠀ I was quiet, shy. I was there for everyone, someone's ear to listen to everyone's problems.⠀ ⠀ People didn't come to me to solve their problems. They came to vent.⠀ ⠀ I always wanted to say something or offer some sort of advice but I was afraid of the backlash. ⠀ ⠀ I didn't want to sound mean. I didn't want the person to take what I say the wrong way. So I held in a lot.⠀ ⠀ Then I got angry at myself for not opening my mouth and saying what I needed to say.⠀ ⠀ I was looking at this the wrong way. I took me 10 years to graduate from college...⠀ ⠀ I knew I wanted to be my own boss for as long as I can remember. I started getting into fitness over 8 years ago⠀ ⠀ I wanted to be a personal trainer back when I was in college. I wanted to run my own business. ⠀ ⠀ I took a class to become a personal trainer while I was in college and passed. This was back in 2015?⠀ ⠀ But there was another requirement, I had to do an internship to become certified. I let time pass and didn’t do it because I was afraid.⠀ ⠀ ❌I was afraid of failing⠀ ❌I was afraid of looking dumb. ⠀ ❌What would people say?⠀ ⠀ I didn’t end up doing it and 3 years later I graduated college.⠀ ⠀ Sometimes I sit back and wonder what if I had actually started my business back in 2015. ⠀ ⠀ But I wasn’t the right person. I don’t dwell on it.⠀ ⠀ I was full of fear and probably would’ve quit, just like I quit trying to become a personal trainer.⠀ ⠀ I did leave it in God’s hands this time. My higher power.⠀ ⠀ I prayed to God that this is still what I wanted. ⠀ ⠀ I prayed for guidance.⠀ ⠀ I let God take the wheels and started working on my business gradually.⠀ ⠀ God answered my prayers. ⠀ ⠀ ✅My hours were cut. I took that time to become certified as a personal trainer. ⠀ ⠀ ✅Then I got laid off. Sounds bad right? No, this time I was the right person at the right time and place.⠀ ⠀ 🔅The fear was still there but this time, I was the right person.⠀ ⠀ I was ready to start my business full time and not give into all the fears I had at the moment.⠀ ⠀ And now I’ve shifted my business again. I am full of fear but I’m the right person with the right mindset.⠀ ⠀ How? I worked on myself internally. I looked inward.
