Hi, I was hoping maybe you would share your opinion on how to tell an ESFJ male apart from ENFJ men. Usually, the argument is that ENFJ are more "creative", but I believe tertiary Ne could still be very creative. I will use a character from an show I watch as an example for my question. There's a male character that is often typed ENFJ, but I think he is ESFJ. He uses past experience (Si) to "predict" what choices his enemy will make. I think maybe the prediction part is what has people screaming Ni or ENFJ. But he's someone that is very strict about following the rules, has an odd sense of humor with silly puns (Ne?), and like I mentioned earlier, uses past experience in his fighting style.
I was just curious because sometimes it's hard for me to each the two apart, usually because their Fe is so overshadowing and makes it hard to see anything else.
Thank you for your time!
Not knowing who you’re talking about, I can’t speak to your specific example, but it sounds like you have the right idea about Si/Ne.
Predictions are typically (not exclusively) tied to Ni, because it form patterns from the immediate information Se picks up. This shows up as “getting inside people’s heads” or seeing long-term consequences, and it looks like “just knowing things” because it doesn’t rely on past experience. [”That stranger’s body language got all tense when we saw that dog - they’ve probably been attacked before.”]
Si however is directly tied to past experience, they need something more reliable than guessing. [”My friend really liked the meal I made when they visited. I should make that meal again because I know they like it.”] Si is less comfortable making predictions unless it’s experienced it before, though an ESFJ’s higher Ne would lessen that discomfort. In fact, Ne might come up with multiple predictions, but not necessarily bother to hone in on which is most likely. This idea generating aspect is why Ne tends to be tied to creativity.
It’s not easy to type fictional characters, but I think you’re on the right track. Look at what information they use to make their predictions: Do they just have a hunch, or do they need personal experience?

Tests aren't always reliable but they’re fun to take, so I probably have a lot of mixed interpretation of cognitive functions and such. With specifically letter typing tests, I get ESTJ or ISTJ. However, with specifically cognitive functions tests, I have been getting ESTP...
~
I'd say ESTP - your submission is full of Se: enjoyment of "walking around and taking in the atmosphere," resolving things on sight (action-oriented), wanting to "drift and do whatever I want" (opportunistic), preference of here and now rather than future consequences... Your inferior Ni also shows in your stress and overwhelm with thinking about the future, and your paranoia over people's perception of you.
Ti/Fe shows up in your attitude of "rip off the bandaid" rather than soften the blow (ie. "the Ti truth is most important"), and coming across as "unfiltered" is a common Ti problem. When you said "I understand other people’s emotions and their reasons, but I find it annoying to keep track of," it demonstrated this polarity well - your tert Fe tunes you in to how people might be feeling and how you should respond, but your aux Ti doesn't see the sense in it.

What would be the best way to determine if someone was ISTP v. ISTJ? I'm generally fairly open-minded as to what I do and am ok with planning framework stuff like for trips, but like to leave the details blank (or if not blank, want to feel free to deviate depending on other things). Not necessarily a crazy daredevil in terms of like extreme sports, but do like roller coasters (kinda a love-hate relationship though). Also love to travel and can easily chill or can do other wilder things.
These types use all different cognitive functions, so getting more familiar with those would help you determine.
ISTP is looking to build deep logical frameworks and understandings (dom. Ti) through hands-on, real world experience (aux. Se).
ISTJ looks to its past experiences, finding what it knows to be reliable (dom. Si) to build stable structures and functional systems (aux. Te).
The little bit you said their points more to Se than Si - your liking to "leave details blank/deviate depending on the situation" lines up more with Se's opportunism and quick action rather than Si's preference for stability and detail-orientation.

hey.
the only types I think I could be is either INTJ or ENTJ. However, I do get ESTJ on occasion but I’m pretty sure I’m one of those two…
~
I’d say ExTJ for sure, most likely ESTJ
Dominant Te comes off pretty strong - “Someone has to take charge, someone has to set the tone,” or “If logic says that this is what you’re supposed to do, then that’s what you do,” your proficiency with planning/organizing, comfort with anger over other emotions.
Paired with your statement “I honestly have no idea who I am” (a common indication of inf-Fi) and your difficulty with emotions, you’re definitely a ExTJ.
You mention the future a few times, but I’m seeing more Si - “learning from continuous practice” (Si builds expertise from past experiences), “I only believe in things if it’s proven to be true or I’ve seen it myself” (Si prefers verified information over abstract guessing; the most reliable is its own experience). Even the way you talk about the future comes across more as Si building security rather than Ni’s future-projecting- “the future WILL happen, and not even planning a little or ignoring it is incredibly foolish”
I can hear tert-Ne in your ever-changing career path, or when you say “my present is extremely boring.” Ne is looking for the next new exciting thing.

Hey! If it's not much of a bother, can you type me? I've answered the questions, here it is.
1. I'm torn between ENTP, ENFP and INTP, maybe ESFJ? I'm pretty sure I use Ne and have poor Si, but I don't know if I use Ti-Fe or Fi-Te.
2. I love movies, especially the ones that talk about an issue I can relate to or that I have difficult in understanding (like romance movies. Will I ever get love as a tangible concept? No. But observing people falling in love makes me feel better about it). I love to see the extremes behaviors people follow for a certain reason and how that moves the movie's structure. Movies that follow that "why are we the way we are?" question are very interesting. I could watch any type of film though and each one that I've seen I write my opinion, the pros and cons about it on essays. I could do it for the days and I really love it. I love fashion, I love how bold people can be while playing with textures, colors and shapes. I like writing, I've been writing for my entire life by now lol I do tend to change the writing styles a lot, I like exploring everything.
3. That not everything is black and white. Everyone seems blinded by their morality, this is right and that is wrong, and that's just how it is. I wish they understood that everything is situational and my decisions will depend on the situation I'm in, but they seem stuck on their ways. I might decide this and change later. Not everything has to be so dull.
4. Emotional attachment! I suck at this, honestly. I see everyone around me suffering for people they won't ever see again, or for past situations that won't ever come back and when they try to explain to me there's so much emotional attachment to it. "They were the best part of my life" "I had a good time and it won't ever come back again." So what? To me, is so easy to move on. Thank god things won't ever come back to be how they once were. Why can't people see all the good things that come with future and that the past only slow you down? I don't get it.
5. Truth - I wish I could discover all truth in the world and see it through a lot of different visions. There must be some meaning behind it, something that I don't see but I desperately want to know.
6. Comfort - Unnecessary. If you're comfortable you're never going to question anything, so to me is useless.
Future - I'm excited for it, I don't know how it's going to be so it makes me both anxious and thrilled, so I appreciate it.
7. hmm I don't know if it fit helps with typing but I am very impulsive! When I was younger I used to think more about the consequences of my actions and used to hold back for not wanting bad outcomes. Growing up, I lost that. I know the consequences, I just don't care about them anymore. I'm more emotionally expressive too, I like making people laugh, and I know how to make them comfortable, but I don't understand people's feelings. I might understand the basis if the person explains it to me.
Thank you! I love your blog, it helps me a lot!
Sorry for the delay!
I think I'm hearing more Ti/Fe with you: your "blinded by morality" comment comes across as an aversion to Fi. Ti is better at not having an emotion attachment to its decisions - which you then called out about yourself in your next point. Truth-seeking is also a big Ti buzzword.
I can see your Ne/Si - exploring everything, excited for future possibilities, not wanting to be tied down to the past.
I'd consider ENTP for you.

1. Are there any types you’re torn between? Which ones and why? Look into cognitive functions and really put some thought into this.
Not really, i'd just like an opinion.
-What do you LOVE to do - to the point where you can go all day without eating or sleeping - and why? Tell me about as many things as come to mind.
I like talking with open minded people, asking points of view, being right, going with the flow, making jokes, teasing people, make people laugh, knowing that people think highly of me...
~
Sorry about the delay answering you!
My best guess with your submission is ISTP.
Ti dom - focus on logic/thinking things through, being honest and direct (and people counting on you for that), dislike of close-minded/ignorant people
"I'm very present in the moment, but I usually zoom out and get lost looking in the void" is a great one-liner for the Se/Ni push-pull. Not too uncomfortable with the future, and like predicting, but you show an Se-preference with your enjoyment of adrenaline and working under stress/pressure.
Fe inf - trouble with empathy, possibly tied to your statement "I easily fall in love, but fall out of it even more easily." (some kind of volatility/instability in relations)

dont know if you are still doing typing asks but i would love to give it a shot because i am super confused between quite a lot of types😂
it can be and is super hard do describe myself even though i can talk inside my head for hours and hours and just analyze myself frequently.
i looooove to create stuff - just random songs, stories, ideas in my head constantly and i have a consistent inner monologue that can be at times very overwhelming especially when i am stressed. i also love to "play pretend" (when i was a child it was with toys now it is with stories and me pretending to be someone else and creating a whole ass storyline 😂😂)
i am vegan and adore animals - nothing can ever change my love and appreciation for animals. i am also super into spirituality, conspiracies, etc etc - anything that gets my mind going tbh and makes me question things.
i also love any form of art - i love to paint, draw, write, sing (by myself never with others maybe only if i am trying to make them laugh djdjd) play guitar etc etc.
I love psychology, true crime - in general anything that can help me understand people and their thought process, their background.
i have trouble being in the present i am either occupied by nostalgia, or thoughts about what i am going to do next.
as much as i hate the world we live and the the facr that u have to work to be "" "successful" " my, i guess?, dream job is either to be a freelance artist or a forensic psychologist, or just help abused animals and/or children - anything to make some sort of a difference.
anyway if u have actually read this thank u so much and i wish you a happy day/night❤️❤️❤️ and if u actually decide to answer - THANK U EVEN MORE (in capital letters) and i am sending you some sweet flowers🌸🌸
I'm leaning xNFP, probably INFP.
I'm definitely seeing Fi - art/creation, wanting to "make a difference," I'm guessing there's a moral stance with your vegan/animals. And inf. Te can often show up as "hating that we have to work to be successful."
I don't see a ton here, but it sounds like Ne/Si a bit as well (play pretend/creation, nostalgia, trouble being present)

Hi! I’d love if you could help type me. I believe I’ve been mistyped as an INFP. For reference my enneagram type is 4w3, which I believe is pretty accurate (although the numbers could potentially be swapped around).
1. One of my favourite hobbies is embroidery, I can do this for hours for days on end. I d o like sewing in general, particularly historical fashion from the 19th-century, and period-accuracy is very important to me (I even sew on an Edwardian sewing machine). I love to read too, mostly gothic horror or feminist pieces. I only watch a few tv shows (and don’t really like films) and they’re mostly non-fiction shows, in fact my favourite of these is a quiz show about general knowledge featuring comedians. I’ll watch these same few shows again and again, familiarity is important to me. I’m also a big collector! I collect antique magazines and general ephemera at the moment. A lot of my interests relate to having a deeper and greater understanding of the world, particularly how it was before my time!
2. That everything is performative; I don’t understand how some people can just throw on any clothes that they like for example. To me, fashion is a way of signalling your personality and interests to others and is a very conscious and intentioned thing but others seem to disagree.
3. I struggle to see the point in doing things for no significant gain, for me this is either recognition or creating a positive change. This has been really difficult for me as someone in the field of English.
4. I don’t enjoy unpredictability at all; being autistic, even slight changes in my day can cause me a lot of stress. However, I do enjoy having freedom in my life to focus on topics that I personally deem important.
5. I get easily frustrated by sudden change, when people don’t understand my logic, and when people make long-standing jokes at my expense. I’m quick to anger when frustrated and this is often more physical than verbal as I’m just as quick to tears and feeling overwhelmed when frustrated.
6. I like to think that I’m ruled by my heart, but there’s definitely tension between the two. I spend a bit of time wondering if I’m making the correct decision going into a field that is not guaranteed to fulfil my personal goals of recognition and/or positive change for others.
7. I’m not entirely sure what this question is asking, sorry :(
8. My emotional vocabulary is very poor and I often can’t verbalise how I feel outside of extremes such as anger. In regard to other’s emotions I will sometimes get frustrated at their displays of negative emotions but in some cases I’ll feel very guilty about this, especially if I think it’s reflected onto me badly, because I do care about my friends and show that I do, and I want to be liked.
9. I get asked for help/support for a lot of things! I know that some of my friends see me as someone to look up to and I want to give them this support. I tend to give support in the form of advice and don’t feel that just listening is substantial. I’ll sometimes refer back to similar experiences of mine to help them feel less alone.
10. I see the present as a transitional period to the future and don’t tend to live in the present very much. I’ll refer back to the past as a form of encouragement to do well now for a good future. I view the future as the key to all of my problems.
11. I learn best by watching and then mimicking others! This is particularly relevant for my crafting hobbies, such as sewing, but even with my academic work I will adopt skills and traits from those I admire to improve my own skills. I then practice these skills.
12. I do tend to speculate but won’t use theories/hypotheticals in my own arguments unless I personally believe I have seen things that prove them to be true.
Thank you for your time! Sorry about the possible strange formatting at the start!
Si jumps out the most in your answers (familiarity, world before your time, frustrated by change, rely on personal experience).
I can also see the Te/Fi polarity wanting to make an impact: this balance of personal goals vs material gain; working towards an outcome of recognition or positive change.
No strong indication of an inferior function, but inf. Ne often shows as a strong dislike of change.
I'd consider ISTJ (same functions as INFP, just in a different order)

I took Meyers Briggs test four times, twice I got infj, but twice I also got infp. I relate heavily to infj, but I also really relate to infp. I know it’s not possible to be both, so which am I? According to my own research, I feel like I’m more likely an infj, but that still doesn’t explain why I relate to infp, or why I got that result twice. I think maybe it’s the dreamer aspect of me, I think everything about me lines up with infj, but the test got confused when I answered yes to questions about daydreaming. What do you think?
Also, i forgot to add, I always relate to infp characters in movies. Would that have anything to do with it?
I can't help you answer this, as you didn't give me any examples of what you're relating to for either type. Don't rely too heavily on online test results, but look into cognitive functions and see what behavior patterns you repeatedly fall back on.

Hi! I'm very confused about my MBTI type, I've searched cognitive functions and so on, but I can't seem to find the most one fitting for me. Considering I have generalized anxiety and that may affect the result of the various test. So, can you help me? I'll describe a few aspects about me.
1. I overthink a lot about past mistakes and what can happen in the future, mostly bad things.
2. I use socialization as a distraction from my thoughts, and when I achieve a conversation I feel inspired to talk more and socialize more.
3. I'm a dreamer, but I think it's a mechanism to avoid my very strong emotions, by dreaming I tend to create a safe space for myself to express my emotions. I do not talk about my emotions, I feel weird to talk about them and can't share my ideas with anyone, I can't put them into words, they are very abstract (the ideas).
4. I tend to absorb information very quickly if someone says something to me. I will remember it if I read something on the Internet, I will probably remember it.
5. I was like a therapist from anyone around me, I tend to find solutions for them instead of comforting them, that's the way I comfort them.
6. I follow my gut a lot, I tend to do what feels right to me and I have a lot of "aha" moments when I process the information I tend to let it "cool down" and the ideas just comes in my head.
7. I understand information as a system, I create it in my head to understand it better. I'm interested in psychology because it's interesting how the brain works and the motives and the interaction between people are also very interesting.
8. I'm blunt with everyone around me, if I don't like you I will show it my actions, if I care about you I will show you through my actions.
9. I don't understand small talk, it seems meaningless to me. I like to talk about deep stuff where I can express my point of view.
10. Most tests type me as a feeler because of my strong emotions, but I don't think I am.
11. I'm very active and I try to stay in touch with a routine to feel in control, otherwise, I'm a mess. My room usually looks very messy when I'm down.
12. I'm very self-aware and try to improve myself if something doesn't feel right. :)
13. I'm usually indecisive if I have more options to choose from. I tend to be very bossy with the others around me, they perceive me as a mean person when I'm not and I'm individualistic, I want to do it myself because I do it the best.
14. I don't sympathize with people only when I've thru it myself, otherwise, not. I give good advice tho.
15. I judge a lot and even when It's not necessarily, I guess it's a coping mechanism tho. And the last one, when I watch a video about makeup, how to do it, I usually watch it once and then do it myself without looking.
That was a lot, I don't usually open myself like that, but it was necessary this time. I hope you don't mind. :(
I'm seeing Fi jump out more than anything here, so IxFP. I don't have a strong opinion on your perceiving functions however.
You said you don't think you're a feeler, but you didn't give me anything that says otherwise. Fi is why you only "sympathize with people when I've been through it myself." It's your sense of knowing "what feels right to you," and being able to follow that instinct. It's why you need that internal space to process your emotions. It's why you can bluntly show if you do or don't care about someone. Many of your points are coming from an Fi place.
I miiight be leaning towards ISFP (Se: following your gut, very active, copying makeup comes across as proficient sensory; Ni: interest in brain workings/psychology, "aha moemnts" in information processing) but the points I can call on could be interpreted in different ways.

Hi hii, I'm curious what I missed or where I went wrong in my, eh, research. I couldn't really find my place within the MBTI, and I've been trying to understand it for months now. Someone suggested to search into Jung's theory, but I fear that I went wrong somewhere, because my outcome doesn't seem to exist as a personality combination.. I'm totally lost tbh!
These were the results I came up with: Dominant: Introverted intuition, auxiliary: Extroverted intuition, tertiary: Introverted sensing, inferior: Extroverted sensing
But Ni1 Ne2 Si3 Se4 isn't compatible with any of the 16 personalities! I seem to be stuck with INXX, my question is if this is possible? I would love to hear your opinion!
What you've described isn't possible in MBTI. Cognitive function stacks follow a specific pattern. Intuition and Sensing are all perceiving functions (how you take in information)- you also need judging functions as the way you make decisions.
Most people will relate to some aspect of every cognitive function. What you need to look for are 1) a real understanding of what each cognitive function/function polarity does, and 2) an over-arching look at your patterns over time. You'll have moments in your life that look like every function - but which ones do you actually use consistently?

Hello, I hope you are doing well.
Are there any types you’re torn between? Which ones and why? Look into cognitive functions and really put some thought into this.
The two types I am torn between are Infp and Intp. I am torn between these two because of the stereotypes and the confusion between dominant introverted feeling and thinking, and inferior fe and te. I have researched the cognitive functions between these two types for months, and still cannot find out which type I am. I relate to both introverted feeling and thinking a lot. I have a hard time distinguishing myself from my reputation and who I am genuinely...
~
It's funny how similar Ti and Fi can look on the surface, as they're both so identity driven. I'm seeing more Ti than Fi with what you've written:
"When I have arguments with people I don’t like when people start to get an irritated tone...I think that the tone was unnecessary to the conversation" - Ti prefers to keep emotion out of arguments, as it takes away from the factual information
"I have a habit of giving the person advice instead of emotionally supporting them. I don’t try to guess what people want from me, I straight up ask what they want." - T is more prone to collect information (ask what they want) and give advice. F would more naturally lean towards comfort/support/validation.
"I tend to get frustrated when people expect me to know how they feel and use it as leverage in an argument. I especially hate when people try to manipulate me into doing something when they could’ve just asked and I would’ve done it. I also really don’t like when people can’t communicate and tell me when I hurt their feelings, because if you don’t tell me I probably won’t know." - Again, this points to low Fe/low emotional awareness. Ti wants feelings removed from arguments, and is going to be less aware of its emotional impact on people than an Fi-dominant.

Hello.
1. Are there any types you’re torn between? Which ones and why? Look into cognitive functions and really put some thought into this.
I used to be, but not really anymore. But people who know me well enough tend to think I'm an intuitive dom. I won't tell what type I think I am. For now at least.
2. What do you LOVE to do - to the point where you can go all day without eating or sleeping - and why? Tell me about as many things as come to mind.
Without eating, I don't know, my stomach is too painful if I don't eat. Without sleeping, reading mystery books, researching personality/typology/science/politics/ online, watching good series or movies. Then I also love to take pictures outdoors of nature and animals and walk in nature. I used to lose myself into writing. And I can spend lots of time just thinking about the answers to the questions I ask myself, personal or general/world matters.
3. What’s something that’s obvious to you that most other people just don’t seem to get?
It's not the poor that hoard the riches, it's the rich. It's not by injecting money in the private market that hoards it that the real economy will improve, austerity doesn't work. It's by doing things yourself you set trends, not by telling others what to do and then do whatever you want. Simple principles.
4. What’s something that’s obvious to everyone else that you just don’t seem to get?
Why is it so important to socialize? Boring, annoying, exhausting, when I can do something useful or that I like instead.
5. Pick one or two of these prompts that stand out. How do you feel about: [honesty, leadership, harmony, morals, society, truth, management, emotion, efficiency]
Honesty is the root of all true genuine relationship/connection, especially relationship with one self.
Truth is subjective, even though there is a factual truth, without a clear knowledge of events and time, facts can point to something that isn't true.
6. Pick another one or two prompts. How do you feel about [adrenaline, novelty, tradition, meditation, the future, the past, comfort, brainstorming, excitement]
The future is now, our current thoughts, or actions are determining the future.
Adrenaline is just not for me. It's one of the worst sensation in the world.
7. Anything else you want me to know that you haven’t had the chance to say?
Maybe later.
I’m leaning towards INTJ from what you’ve written -
Ni: focus on the future (“The future is now,” current actions determining future); deep focus on understanding a concept (“I spend lots of time thinking about the answers toquestions I ask myself”); find understanding through perspective shifting (“Truth is subjective…facts can point to something that isn’t true.”)
Te: focus on metrics/results. Your answer to 3 can be boiled down to “Doing X won’t get results; doing Y will.” again in 4 you said “Why socialize when I could do something useful.”

Hi, I've been reading up on mbti for a while now and I got really into it. The problem is, I keep getting different results on the tests. I came across your blog and was wondering if you could help.
1. The 2 main results I keep getting are INTJ and ISTP. The first time I took the test was completely unbiased and I got INTJ and it sounded right. After that, I got various results and couldn't figure it out so I asked my sister to help. She said she thought I was ISTP but my closest friend thought the INTJ was accurate.
2. I have quite a large range of interests and things I like to do. In school, I love the science classes and I take both French and Spanish but I also take art which I really love. Outside of school, I like football, running and binging Netflix.
3. Generally speaking, I find it harder to talk to people or maintain a conversation. Especially one on one conversations; I prefer talking in groups of people mainly because that way, I don't have to talk as much. I have one main friend who I have fun talking to though.
4. I don't like being micromanaged since I hate it when people boss me around and nitpick everything I do.
5. I don't easily get frustrated but it happens more commonly when I am treated unfairly or differently from others. When I do feel stressed or frustrated, I generally close my self off from others for a while.
6. I prefer making decisions using my head. I often use pros and cons lists to help me make those choices.
7. I prefer clarity of information since then I am able to make rational choices and build on what I have. From that I can formulate a plan and get accurate results.
8. Although I have difficulty doing so, I prefer understanding my feelings.
9. I like to solve problems which are mainly mathematical for instance, equations used in physics or such like that. I don't particularly enjoy trying to figure out problems which are more emotional or personal since I can't get accurate unbiased results.
10. I try not to think about the past too much but often dwell on negative experiences or mistakes I have made. I try to stay present and take in everything going on around me. I tend to zone out a lot though and imagine what my future will be like.
11. I learn best when I have all the information. I like to know what the overall idea is, then get the details and finally put them all together and figure out whatever I need to do.
If you could help, I would really appreciate it. I haven't done this before so I hope all the information you need is here. Thanks
To be honest, I don’t feel fully confident in a type at this point. If you want to reach out to me directly, I’d love to set up an interview with you to help you get your answer.
That said, from what I have to go on, I’d lean towards ISTP. The T preference is clear, and I think I’m hearing a bit more Ti (XXTP) than Te (XXTJ) - wanting details, clarity of information, “accurate results”. Ti is looking for what makes sense to their internal logic, while Te is more focused on external metrics (resource management, hitting metrics, “seeing results”).
I don’t have solid evidence here to point out S vs N, but your answers sound more specific than I would expect from an N-dominant. I don’t see any clear examples of you “abstracting” away from the topic (For example: “I take French and Spanish” - concrete example with specifics, compared to “I like languages” - more conceptual and lumps many facets under one category.)
But again, I’d love to be able to give you better examples, so please feel free to reach out to me for an interview, or with any questions.

1. Are there any types you’re torn between? Which ones and why? Look into cognitive functions and really put some thought into this.
I’m torn between ISFJ and INTP. The reason for that is: a) I’m pretty sure I am in the Si-Ne and Ti-Fe axis in one way or another (if you figure I am not, I’ll be surprised.) b) I’m also pretty sure I am an introvert in every sense of the word (don’t want to deal with people, not interested in experimenting or influencing the world very much - or, at most, only conceptually.) So I am left with these two types...
~~
INTP
You are correct about which function axis you use.
You definitely show a Ti-preference over Fe. You emphasized the importance of questioning your own ideas (Ti is always checking itself/ideas for logical consistency) and wanting them to “hold up.” Your frustration when people don’t understand your reasoning is another sign (read: “My dominant function’s logic/reasoning is the most obvious thing; how do you not understand this!”) Even your description of being ruled by your heart sounded like Ti - You said you ignored truth/sense to help someone, to your own detriment (“I value Ti truth and am aware when I make myself not use it; when I don’t lean on my Ti it can hurt me”) You said it made sense for you to help the person they way you did (“The logic pointed to this decision, so of course I did it.”)
You also don’t get “what’s weird, what’s inappropriate, what’s flirty…”; Fe would have a better natural understanding of these things and the overall realm of social etiquette/convention.
Your answers were largely Ti-heavy, but I could still see a bit of the N preference as well. The answers you gave were conceptual or hypothetical scenarios, rather than pulling on specific real-life examples which I would expect from S-dominant. Also, right off the bat, you said “I definitely cannot spend a whole day doing a single thing,” and you said you “prefer chaos.” - Ne is going to be more interested in taking in a variety of ideas and experiences than an Si-dominant, and will be much better at adapting to unexpected “chaos”.

hello !! i’m torn between INTP and ISTP. do you have any telltale, real life examples on how to differentiate between the 2 types? i’ve been reading about it for the past few hours and my head hurts - i feel like i don’t know anything about myself anymore.
I don’t have any personal examples about those specific types (I keep a pretty small circle), but I can go a bit more general with my experience with Ne and Se. One pattern I’m starting to notice is what these types are distracted by - ideas (xNxP) or reality (xSxP).
When I’m telling a story to my xSxP friends, they tend to stay on topic better, and ask me to fill in sensory details (If I’m talking about a restaurant, then where is it located? What food did I get? etc). However, they’re much more reactive to reality/what’s in front of them. I have an ESFP friend who will talk to me on the phone, while also talking to his sister in person, and then answer his Mom, and then call to his dog that’s acting up, and then--- Se is going to be more reactive to the environment.
When I’m talking to any of my xNxP friends and I’m telling a story, they have a tendency to interject with something that’s not directly related, as Ne makes quick connections between seemingly unrelated things. (”I went to Wendy’s for lunch today and-” “Do you think Wendy is secretly jealous of Dairy Queen because she’s in love with Burger King?) They tend to bounce from topic to topic (faster than my Ni can keep up with at least).

Are there any types you’re torn between? Which ones and why? Look into cognitive functions and really put some thought into this.
INTP , INFP and ENTP , both three are very similar to one another and knowing that INFPs can be as logical as INTPs make me rethink my type and knowing that ENTPs can be introverted and INTPs can be outgoing makes me rethink it.
What do you LOVE to do - to the point where you can go all day without eating or sleeping - and why? Tell me about as many things as come to mind.
Well things I like to do is go on electronics like my phone or computor also drawing and listening to music.
What’s something that’s obvious to you that most other people just don’t seem to get?
That sometimes things have to be done like a real life example that I experienced is when my family had lots of cats , it caused problems for us so my parents wanted to kick them out one of my siblings didnt like it but I understood , you rather deal with problems or let them go.
What’s something that’s obvious to everyone else that you just don’t seem to get?
Emotions , what I mean by that is some people don't like acknowledging things that are true or thinking of the possibility that something might not work out because they want to be happy an example of this is my mother , when I told her that we have a higher chance of not getting a curtain thing she told me I was being negative when in fact I was just saying the truth.
What bothers you more - your life being too controlled (micromanaged), or being too chaotic (unpredictable)? Give examples if you have them.
Im not exactly sure what you mean by this but if you mean it on how I manage my time then my life being to controlled , I like to do things I want without people always choosing things for me and telling me what to do while if it's chaotic atleast I can make my own sense of direction and make it unchaotic.
What’s something that regularly frustrates you? What are you like when stressed/frustrated?
Something that frustrates me are people that over think , illogical or very emotional. When im frustrated Im considering you mean disappointed so when im disappointed I just feel let down for a but but nothing to big depending on the situation.
Are you ruled by your head or your heart? How so?Head , I like logic more and it makes more sense , feelings are more illogical and emotions make you do more irrational things or consider irrational things.Plus , when you use your heart you get hurt and let down easily.
When you have a task, what’s more important: clarity of information, or clarity of action plan? Explain.
Clarity of information , I rather know more about the task than know how to put it into action because if you know more info atleast you can do some action.
What’s more important: you/others feel good, or you/others understand your feelings? Explain.
I rather have myself satisfied and happy other than the people around me because before taking care of others i rather be happy first and I would want others to understand my feelings more because when I use my head Im not trying to offend people , be heartless and etc im just trying to make the best decision but people misunderstand me for being heartless or mean.
What sort of problems to people ask for your help with? What kinds do you like to solve?
No one rely on me solving problems but problems I like to solve are ones that are decision based because I can use my logic also I like solving problems where Im trying to find out how things happened by analyzing the information I know, like one time I was in a situation that was confusing so I made an analysis of what could've really happened that made it confusing and the situation I was analyzing.
What’s your relationship to the present? Your relationship to the future?
Currently im not focusing on actions for the future or present just trying to be comfortable.
How do you learn best? (Learning steps and practicing? Understanding the core concept? Hands on? etc)
Learning step by step and practicing.
How much do you speculate? How much do you rely on speculation?
Well I don't really focus on analyzing things since I don't get in situations where I have to but when I do I somewhat rely on it and do it so situations can have a higher chance of making more sense to me.
Anything else you want me to know that you haven’t had the chance to say?
Im not really the most apathetic person alive and I actually do try and get a bit comfortable cheering people up or making them feel better if Im close to them emotionally and have a bond.I can have a cheerful and childish personality once in a while only with friends , although im introverted , with people im close to im pretty ambiverted and I like day dreaming once in a while also Im laid back.
I’d say INTP.
You definitely have Ti over Fi. Being able to put emotions aside to do what needs to be done, just telling the truth even if people think you’re being negative, frustration from overly emotional people - these show Thinking over Feeling. Your focus on what’s “logical”, and collecting/analyzing information are key Ti points.
