It wasn't the fact that her arm got broken. She had many fractures through her career, all equally painful, and all easily healed by capsules and senzu beans. No, that wasn't what earned Mariko's expression of horror in her eyes.

It was the casualness he had broken her arm with. Nonchalantly, as if it was just a spontaneous movement of his hand. Like the instinctive way one would smash a mosquito on the table -- fast, necessary, with the mild pleasure that comes with seeing the dead bug right after.

That was what horrified Mariko the most. How natural violence felt for someone like Cell.

She bit hard on her lip, not wanting to give in the satisfaction of a cry of pain. She ignored the taste of tongue on her lip as she reached for a healing capsule on the belt hidden under her stocking -- a stiff movement, because anything that made her broken arm even dangle sent jolts of pain all the way up to the shoulder and neck.

She took the capsule, pushed it against her mouth, and swallowed it in a single gulp. Then, she smiled at Cell, praying that her spite for him could overcome the pain that fought to twist her lips in a grimace.

"Oh, it's fantastic," she said, just as casually as how he had crushed his joint. "We are as happy as we can be. He's also training hard."

In a second, the capsule worked its magic. Mariko's arm stretched back in position, as if an invisible hand had put her joints back in place. She heaved a sigh of relief, as small as she could, and raised a victorious smirk back at Cell before getting back into her fighting stance.

"He's getting better, you know? In fact, he managed to hurt me much more than you did." She shrugged. "Not that he ever meant to," she concluded, casting the bioandroid a smirk of satisfaction. "He just happens to be that much stronger than you."

Go on Cell, have fun with Mariko's arms. She'll get back at you eventually

Oops. Seems like he got carried away- something that's not all that rare with Cell, even here, on the supreme kai of time's leash. BUT honing a warrior's skills inevitably comes with scrapes, knicks and bruises...

and sometimes broken bones.

"Looks like I don't know my own strength... " Cell's still got Mariko's arm in his grasp, and from the look in his eyes, it seems like he's admiring the angle he's twisted into. Maybe even re-playing the wet crack that came from it just a moment ago. He lets go with a parting huff, and not even a flicker of regret in his ever-present smirk.

"Better get a senzu bean. While we're taking a break... how's life with my son going for you?"
