On a fr note I do wishfully think Jeyne, Theon, and Jon will end up at the wall together. Jeyne is already on her way. The three of them share the experience of growing up part of the Stark household as outsiders to the main family. Winterfell was stolen and put to the torch, but nothing can take their childhood memories away. Winterfell is a living thing in all of them. Jeyne never stopped believing the Theon she watched sparring in the yard was truly gone for good :(

Mild hot take: Asha’s words to Stannis were not said out of cruelty or callousness. Asha has reflected on how Theon’s crimes will inevitably have to be paid for and she’s exhausted her efforts to make amends with the north thus far. Requesting an Ironborn be given to a heart tree, putting respect on the name of the man who took three of her brothers and drove her mother to madness, goes against everything Asha’s ever known. But the old gods answered Theon’s prayers, he belongs to them and she has no place to deny that if he believes so. This is the only thing she can do for Theon. She can’t save Theon from death and she won’t make amends with the north without paying an iron price.

If she has to see her brother die, be it in a way that would mean something for all of them.

i meant to write “swear”, but does he swear? He owes nothing to the night’s watch, and any vows he’s seen throughout his life are broken. Maesters swear to celibacy but visited the brothel. He’s sworn to the old gods, but they’ve done nothing to protect them.

So he speaks the words, wondering if they’re true, all the while watching jon with a reverent eye. He doesn’t know if he’s swearing, or swearing falsely, but it’s to jon, whatever it is.
