- They said to me that you always had their back.
- Always. Always, they saw us as mentors and we didn’t see competition in them, we saw the future, so it was always that approach we had with them. So when they felt, you know, a little bit, not sad but unsatisfied in 2014 before Olympics, during the Olympics, they talked to us, they talked to Patrice during Sochi, and you know we always mentored them or helped them through the hard parts of their career even without being their coach.
Listen up...... I have it from a reliable source that tessa and scott both smell amazing and that they both have super strong handshakes but tessa’s is the firmer one (which is no surprise). That is all

What’s the gift given by the other that you like the most?
Tessa: This is kind of a personal thing I’ve never told anyone but– In training, we often reference Marnie McBean, and she talks about filling your jar of rice. So every good thing you do, you’re adding rice to the bucket. Sometimes, when you have bad days, you’re not necessarily taking rice out but you’re not adding any… but you still have the bowl of rice.
