Have you noticed that love seems to be in the air right now? Like that Mariah Carey song: "I had a vision of love and it was this crazy dream where I was in a park, and the trees were made entirely out of recycled aluminum cans, and YOU were there, but you looked just like me, only with a nose bleed."
- "Hugh Jackman", ep. 119 - eGemony, part 3 "Love, among other things, is all you need.

Thinking about the newest episode of wtnv… The Boy is definitely Cecil, right? The second I read the description of the episode I was convinced of it. Hope this plot line gets explored more.

It Devours!
It's not so often you read a novel based on a podcast 6 years after it was released. (Spoilers ahead)
So I read the first 200 or so pages over the course of a week, then finished it over the course of an hour. Time is weird, right?
Anyway, some thoughts.
The Smiling God™ is dead? Or, at the very least, a big centipede is dead. Also, burn baby burn.
The way It Devours! treats the interaction between faith and science is masterfully done.
Kevin doodled, manifested, and made a holy book. 10/10 prophet
So it was The Smiling God™ and the Joyous Congregation The City Council none other than Carlos who made the holes that devoured parts of Night Vale?
The Smiling God™ does not devour. Well, other than worms. Centipede gonna centipede.
The Desert Other World is the devour-er. No hunger, no thirst, a year is actually 10, oh, and your cell phone never runs out of battery. Reception is great, too.
Wait, excuse me, Carlos spent 10 years in the Desert Other World when it only appeared to Cecil/Night Vale as 1?
And he hid this information out of love. Relationship goals or red flag?
All time best Cecilos moment.
Also, the fact that Ep 230 ended with Carlos hopeful to study the desert other world, the same desert other world that Cecil told him to avoid? Kept them apart? Was tearing Night Vale apart? Girl ok.

i don’t think there’s anything funnier than saying “god forbid women do anything” in response to women doing the most objectively horrifying actions possible.

"Screaming. A slow movement downwards. The crunch of items made of wood and items not made of wood. A quick movement upwards. Char. A smell like rotting seaweed, or a poisoned ocean. The song “La Bamba”, only faster. You know that feeling when you realize you’re not alone? Only more so. Screaming. Screaming. Screaming. Ladies and gentlemen. Ladies and gentlemen. The Street Cleaners are upon us. What can we do? What is there to do? Besides, perhaps, taking you in a haze of terror and heat, to the weather."
- Cecil G Palmer, episode 15 - Street Cleaning Day

“You saw above you a planet of awesome size, all thick black forest and jagged mountains and deep turbulent oceans. It was so far away, so desolate, and so impossibly, terrifyingly dark, and that day, you did not go home.”
Welcome to Night Vale, episode 13 - A story about you

"Science is a tool, helpful and dangerous, but we will use it only for our fellow humans with the benefit of the least of us always in mind. This is the only true way to faceup to those of us who use this most beautiful of human inventions against humanity itself [...]."

"I once said that science is neat. I don't know if I believe that anymore, because science is... really messy, it can be used for greatness, for love, for humanity and it can also be used to other, to murder and to mutilate.
We want science to outside of, higher than ourselves, but it has always just been us and so it's up to us what to do with science."
