Certain people have a... vivacity about them that’s difficult to match. Or to digest even in small quantities. Severus has always tended to view Dorcas Meadowes as one of those people, at least from what he’s seen of her. 

Such levels of gusto can either be refreshing or utterly exhausting, depending on the day. At this time of the evening, the barometer leans firmly towards the latter. 

“I’m sure that’s notable-- for people who care about either the night or music,” Severus tells her flatly. “But I don’t doubt you can enjoy it enough to make up for those of us who don’t.”

Severus’ aforementioned eyes narrow as he snaps his gaze over towards Black at the comment. 

Immediately, his mind goes into overdrive-- analyzing the tone of his voice, analyzing whether or not this is just another attempt at bait that he’s meant to rise to. 

He shouldn’t interact. He shouldn’t interact. He shouldn’t interact. 

No good will come of it, no matter what he says. There’s no imaginable outcome in which Severus can ever win. But still... a traitorous thought prods at him sharply, reminding him that to ignoring Black would be just as much of a defeat. Just because it’s impossible to win doesn’t mean he has to lay down and lose. With that in mind, he allows tendrils of bitterness to unfurl within his chest and begin to stretch. 

“It? Very specific.” Scorn drips slowly off his tongue. “Best work on expanding your vocabulary. Twelve points to Gryffindor, though, for attempting to use your words-- albeit ineffectively.”

Rebels, a masked Severus can’t help but think with disdain as spells of all colors (yellow, red, green) shoot past him in the corridors that he slips through like a shadow. Witches and wizards who thought that they could somehow launch an attack against the Dark Lord’s growing forces and win. Those just bold (or foolish) enough to approach with their unmasked faces flashing in the corridors, obscenely visible when their protective charms slip or when the light from the rapidly-flying spells cuts too closely to their dimly-shielded forms. Idiots. It’s jarring, seeing the fights breakout down the castle’s stone hallways still haunted by the academic spectres of school years’ past, when the building used to be a stronghold of knowledge and youthful optimism. Now, it’ll simply stand as a straightforward symbol of power and unquestionable authority, as bodies-- some stunned, some dead-- litter the ground. All because some people thought it would be a bright idea to instigate some sort of half-baked offensive. 

Sevuers makes his way out of the castle and onto the grounds towards what looks and sounds like an intense fight farther out past the gardens, hastily orienting himself to the to the landscape of the battle that he’d been summoned to join without warning. He hadn’t been one of the Death Eaters who’d originally infiltrated the castle, before, though of course he’d known they were here. But then-- the call came, which he was obliged to answer. And now, here he is, cape billowing, glancing behind him and hastily shooting off curses over his left shoulder as he dashes down Hogwarts’ grassy hills, vaguely hoping he doesn’t accidentally hit anyone (useful) on his own side. 

He slows as he approaches a small of fighting Death Eaters and their few opponents perhaps fifty yards away, ducking behind a tree to determine what he can do from here, if anything. He sidles up against the bark, peering out from behind the trunk before sending a curse flying towards one of the rebels. “Stupefy.”

NAME / ALIAS + INTRO : I missed the recruit profile fun so I’m jumping on the bandwagon late (story of my life). the basics: I’m tara, I’m 28, I’m from the midwest, I’m a teacher, I’m in the last year of my m.a. program in english lit, and I help run a theatre company.  ZODIAC SIGN : virgo sun, capricorn moon, scorpio rising (which I only learned 10 seconds ago, and now I’m reading up on my moon/rising signs, and they’re... so accurate). ✧     ARCHETYPE / TROPE : in terms of archetypes, I always end up playing either literal trash humans or selfless sunshine cupcakes; there is no in between. for tropes? all tropes are good tropes. betrayal in general is a great trope specifically; any form of it. if i’m not playing severus snape you can usually catch me playing peter pettigrew for that very reason.  ✧     EVENTS / TASKS : I love events where your character gets thrown into a situation with people your character doesn’t typically interact with. uhhhh-- I also adore music tasks and all self-paras. although I will say that the most fun event I’ve ever experienced was in a dark academia rp I was part of, like, two years ago, where we were put into an escape-room situation? we had to be collaborative and work together on discord to solve puzzles based on clues. and we were in teams, so not everyone was working on the same puzzle, and we could only get into the other channels to observe once we solved our own mystery. it was wild, I have no idea how the admins managed the planning of that event.
