MONTH OF SAIYUKI

Greetings everyone! Here’s the project I was working on! I’ve always enjoyed doing challenges like these for other fandoms, so I thought it would be fun to do one for Saiyuki! I did 31 days because the upcoming month is May, but this can be done whenever! There are substitute questions as well if there’s one you don’t have an answer for.

Because Tumblr is quite good at shrinking images, I have also uploaded the [full size here] in case it’s hard to read the text.

There’s no obligation to do this everyday, I certainly have a hard time keeping track of things like this, so just have fun! :)

Ps: This is for all of Saiyuki, so Gaiden and Ibun are part of that!

Month of Saiyuki (day 12)

What is another series (TV, Manga, etc.) that the Saiyuki characters could fit in?

Ultimately I image them in a videogame series rather than TV series or manga. I picture them in Undertale scenario XD it is nice to see them trying to interact with monsters without killing them. I think they will immediately realize monsters are not dangerous. Plus I have this image for months of Sanzo trying not to shoot Temmie after she said to pet this cute human XD (in the game once you reach Temmie Village, one of them wants to pet you because he/she/they think Frisk is a cute human).

What is your favourite moment in Saiyuki?

Actually there are several moments in Saiyuki I love to death but the two moments I loved the most were when Sanzo confronted that little and scared youkai child about his real desire to die in Saiyuki (it's so intense from Hazel's manipulation to Sanzo's confrontation) Reload Vol. 5, chapter 21.2, "Even a worm" arc 8.2:

Summary: Sanzo, Gojyo and Hakkai needed to lose weight. Goku revealed more of his sadistic side, which we first glimpsed in Cat Returns Drama CD.

Has it been a year already? This was my first attempt to translate a song to English, but sensei made the lyrics quite easy and rhythmical to translate. Really, I just love the lyrics... Minekura-sensei is really something~

These scans come from the compiled volume release, so the chapter numbering is different from the original magazine serialization. While Volume 7 titles it Dice 45, on mangadex it will show up as just chapter 47 to keep things simple
