thinking about how my sister and i's most used passwords are each others names, and how we lend each other things so often it's basically just become a cycle of returning and how my sister asked me if i knew what kind of plant we were looking at in bunnings and i didn't know but i immediately wondered how hard it would be to learn botany and how she's has struggled with anxiety for most of her life but she still books my doctors appointments for me and how i hate washing dishes but i always make sure hers are done before she gets home bc i know it stresses her out to have a messy house and that at age 10 the safest place i could think of was sitting on my sisters bed watching her do her makeup and now at 19 the safest place i can think of is sitting on my sisters bed watching her do her makeup

lowkey forget that most people are not even remotely aware of what asexual and aromantic mean as queer identities. like when i remember that i, myself, thought i was literally the only person in the world who didnt want to be intimate with anyone, i think of how many other people think they’re all alone. 

im so excited that alice oseman is in charge of one of the most genuine and fun shows out there, and that they are acearo themselves, and will be putting the utmost care into her ace/aro characters

there’s still so much further to go but i am so hopeful that their work will be the start to more aromantic and asexual characters who are fully fleshed out and celebrated so actual people belonging to these groups can feel seen, can feel supported, and feel validated :)
