Based on Los Angeles, California, Mike is involved in a multitude of projects outside of Linkin Park. From soundtracks for film to scores for video games and producing tracks for many disciplines of music, he keeps himself busy but still takes time to enjoy the simple things in life. He is commonly found at hip-hop shows, art museums, concerts for friends’ projects, interacting with fans via online presence and in the street, and often spends time oversees in Japan visiting and mentoring friends in the studio.

With art studios on both sides of the Pacific, downtime from recording and touring is spent with a paintbrush in hand, usually with his children within eyesight. Dedicated to his friends and family, Shinoda is just a phone call or a plane trip away, and has no qualms with dropping everything to stand beside friends, offering a helping hand without asking anything in return.
