Sasuke flinched when he heard his name and was quick to turn on his heel to face Iruka. The practice area behind him was a mess, he knew it, and that would reflect poorly on him.

...Right?

He stood with his hands behind his back, rigid, though slightly flustered. He should've paid attention.

His hands moved with an air of uncertainty, as a sense of self doubt came over him. If he'd been practicing alone, he wouldn't have to worry about spectators witnessing his falters and misses.

Iruka went around, helping as he did, pointed out where they could use a little more work. A couple of them he let have a break because they really were trying their hardest to get it right, and lunch was fast approaching so he could cut them a little slack.

"Sasuke--" He called out as he approached, looking over the damage done and how spread out the kunai were.

"How are things going here?"

So I've definitely come to the realization that I've never really seen myself in characters, never felt the need to project myself onto them, or needed to relate to them.

I've always been content watching as--well, an observer.

I love watching stories as if I were on the sidelines, watching a game. Did I want to play the game? Not really. But seeing how it played out was what interested me more.

It's probably why I have so many muses for roleplay. I don't find any particular reason to relate, but instead figure out how they would react to certain situations instead.

Sasuke did make sure to grab some regular kunai to practice with, as training fully on the off-weight ones would get him too used to that. At least, that was his line of thinking. So some of them required more force behind his throw, and different angling as well.

When the sun was directly overhead, there was kunai littered in the grass, on stuck in the tree, and some in the target that he'd set up.

Not...very positive results. He knew if he used his own set, he'd be doing much better, but as he gathered them up, he wasn't going to quit. Not until he was only hitting the target.

'You're welcome.' He signed back, taking the gesture for what it was. 'Be careful. I'll check on you in a bit.' He found letting Sasuke work on his own was the boys preferred way of learning. When he had questions, he would come and ask. Iruka knew he would come on his own.

While Sasuke worked on that, he went around and helped the other students with their clones.

Kakashi glanced at the Uchiha, observing the question that was signed to him. Upon discovering he would be receiving this group to test, and potentially fail like he did the others, he'd picked up a book on sign language and read through it.

Books had been his saving grace as a child. Learning to provide for himself had come from between pages rather than any one on one assistance, and so the habit to discover things for himself had remained.

"Yep. Six AM sharp. I suggest not eating beforehand, it won't work out well for you if you do."

Fun fact: me and my best friend were fighting at some point over who would cosplay Sasuke and who would be Naruto. They wanted to be Sasuke, and I kinda fold when it comes to them. >u>;;;

But the question is, which age were you thinking? I doubt I could pull off genin Sasuke anymore. Probably adult Sas. Maybe 17.

But really and seriously, thank you. I get a little self conscious with my cosplays, so hearing that I could actually probably cosplay a character I love well?

It's not munday, I know but lol happy valentine's day to me. Fought with gravity this morning and it won so took a tumble and my nose hurts. (I'm okay. It's not broken and I don't have a concussion)

But it is sore and hurts to wear my glasses rn without wearing a band-aid, but I do prefer(usually) to let my injuries air dry/heal.

So I'll be glaases-less for the most part while I'm at home lol.

Maybe next time I'll kick gravity in the face for screwing up my favorite pair of glasses(i had a backup pair).

At least me and my coworkers were able to laugh about it today.

The man wasn't impressed by any of them. Well, the feeling was mutual in Sasuke's eyes, it seemed. He raised an eyebrow in question, but what they were going to be doing was probably only going to be talked about tomorrow. Was Kakashi going to be late then, too?

...He was still going to arrive on time. Just in case. He didn't really trust their group leader to be fully truthful right now.

Simple signing--he could only assume he didn't know any, like so many people around him didn't.

They were annoying.

Kakashi had partially tuned out their answers, finding himself already working at the beginnings of a headache. Truly, the only one that didn't annoy him was the one that didn't speak, though his expression showed no different the moment he was handed the notebook to read the vengeful words.

After reading their files and observing them, he didn't truly expect any different given his pre-established assumptions.

Sasuke was going to be a different kind of challenge, and Kakashi quietly thought on Itachi as he offered the notebook back and heaved a slow sigh.

"Well, the lot of you better get some rest. Tomorrow isn't going to be entirely pleasant."
