Tumgik
Friendly reminder that Tuor watched his cousin walk past without knowing who he was. If he’d stopped and spoken...probably thanks to the curse he’d never have made it to Gondolin. (◕‿◕✿)

If I begged you never to post any more Turin Turambar posts because when I hear his name I feel like a cruel black sword has stabbed me through the heart, what would you say?
I would say Beleg feels your pain, buddy.

Friendly reminder that Androg was the hardest of heart among the Outlaws and he had been hunted from Dor-lómin for the slaying of a woman. (◕‿◕✿)

Friendly reminder that Huor and the men of Dor-lomin were slain during the fifth day of Nirnaeth (except Hurin, who was taken captive). The Orcs hewed their heads and piled them as a mound of gold in the sunset, which means that Huor fell pierced by a venomed arrow in the eye and he probably had his head hewed. (◕‿◕✿)

ONLY 8 FOR THE NIRNAETH ARNOEDIAD?!?
Yeah I probably didn't tag them properly, that can't be right.

Friendly reminder that Men used to sing songs about Beren and his heroic deeds even when he was a young lad. That he could slay thirty in one battle, escape the most perilous ambushes, and that he wounded Sauron himself in the hand.
All of that never helped him when he stood before Gorthaur in Taur-in-Gaurhoth.
More than that, when Sauron finally learned who were the two remaining captives in his pits, the Maia made some suggestions about Finrod's future, while Beren was supposed to be nothing more than a piece of meat, a wolf's food. Not worthy to be a regular captive, let alone an ex-opponent (✿◕‿◕)

Friendly reminder that Húrin had to watch all the trials and tribulations his family went through, including his son and daughter falling in love. (◡‿◡✿)

Friendly reminder that though Finduilas's death was horrible and traumatic for Túrin, it wasn't exactly easy for her: she was pinned to a tree with a spear and left to die.
Friendly reminder that she was so sure that Túrin would come to save her that even at her last moment she wanted him to know where she was. (✿◕‿◕)

Friendly reminder that of all Finwë's grandchildren who went to Middle-Earth only three lived long enough to see justice done upon his killer.  And of those only one ever returns alive to Valinor. (◕‿◕✿)

Friendly reminder that Celebrimbor's dead body was hung up on a pole as a banner when Sauron marched against the elves. (◡‿◡✿)

Friendly reminder that it is rumoured that Húrin, the mightiest of the warriors of men in the First Age, cast himself into the sea and killed himself. (◡‿◡✿)

Friendly reminder that Morwen and Turin did not know if Hurin was alive or dead for years. Gwindor was the first to tell that Hurin was Morgoth's captive. And that's because he was also captive in Angband. (✿◡‿◡)

Friendly reminder that Morgoth fell to evil because he wanted to rule over everything- and hoard all that he had made, for he viewed the works of his hands as precious.
Morgoth fell to hate because he loved too much.
