Starter for @scorching-passion
The higher ups must be crazy, Eve thought as she made her way through the barracks. She was always quick, efficient, and blew through missions with ease- all on her own; and that was how she preferred it. Usually, she would be allowed to carry out these assignments in comfortable solitude. This was not one of those assignments.
In brisk strides, Eve approached the yard, where she thought she may find her ‘plus one’, dread growing with each step. It wasn’t exactly who it was, per se... well, maybe slightly, if she recalls his reputation- it was more that she- possibly- would rather risk a reprimand from the higher ups just to avoid conversation.
He may already know of the mission and not require briefing. Maybe he thought ahead and already prepared. Maybe she wouldn’t need to engage in... she shuddered- small talk.
Turning the corner and through the door she’d be outside, other soldiers stiffening in posture at her arrival, standing to attention. With a small glance, she waved her hand with a measured “As you were,” and they went back to their recreation a little more wary than they were before.
Scanning the horizon, Eve looked for him- and of course, the telltale coiffed hair of the aforementioned SOLDIER gave him away. She took a deep breath, steeling her expression- before beginning her approach.
“Roche,” Eve began, clearing her throat, “ We have been assigned a mission. I will tell you more as we walk... Please come with me.”
Yes, that should be a good opener. Quick, clean, a good mix between authoritative and polite... Yes, she had succeeded in fine conversation.

On the topic of Evanthe’s personal sword, Cygnet-
In the main verse, when Eve is bestowed the honor(?) of bearing the title of a 1st Class SOLDIER, she commissioned a sword for herself and named it Cygnet, after her favorite animal, the Swan.
Cygnet is a very slim, saber-like sword with a basket hilt and ornate markings along it’s expanse. With her unique fighting style which draws from traditional fencing as well as contemporary dance and ballet, the Cygnet excels at quick thrusts and shallow slices to incapacitate it’s foes; allowing for stylish flourishes and delicate footwork.
