You ever see those ships where the fandom looses their collective mind because one half is convinced the characters are dating and the other half is convinced the characters view each other as siblings?

And both sides have “evidence” that revolves around how intensely you can see that these two care about each other. Like Character A would fight God for Character B, or Character B is a big rampaging grump but one hand on them from Character A has B calmed down immensely.

Personally I think that kind of “it can be read as romantic or platonic” chemistry behind character interactions is the definition of the aspec gaze, bc if you’re never going to confirm aspec, then don’t confirm romance/sex either

I’m working on a project for class about asexual and/or aromantic storytelling. I want to see if I can identify an “asexual gaze” as opposed to the male/female/queer gazes.

I know I explicitly say asexual here, but I’m open to hearing from aromantic (including alloaro) people as well. I haven’t narrowed down a thesis yet, so any thoughts help.

I want to ask fellow aspec people: what media (books, movies, comics, etc.) resonate with you? They don’t have to have explicit ace or aro representation; just what stories do you feel appeal to you?

(This may go nowhere, but who knows? It may go somewhere too.)

I’m locked in on a die-hard loyalist Jamal route and I’ve learned (some) of my lessons over the years with FB okay I’m not giving anybody else a single millimeter of an inch okay I’m not risking it

So I was absolutely convinced that I’d go to lay down in my bed and some one would come cuddle me and then I’d turn around and it would NOT be Jamal and Jamal would see that I’m in bed with someone else and I could not handle that

I don’t need another Alfie thank you very much

Ahem. Anyway. Amelia and Jamal in my bed. That misunderstanding. I can handle that. I can logic that out (and I don’t care if fb only lets me seem like a doormat if it means I don’t fight either of them about this)

Okay wait before I read one more thing let me get this out there (under the cut because spoilers of course):

I don’t think Amelia was in your bed because of any nefarious purposes or because she thought she could trick your boy into thinking she was you.

I have absolutely come into my room late at night to be surprised by my sister in my bed in the dark after a hard day for her bc she just needs some comfort from her sis. And that’s just between a big and little sis, ones that don’t get along about half of the time.

If my sister was my twin?? If it were me and my sis in there Jamal could’ve had Amelia’s bed to himself bc she would’ve just been bunking with me anyway.

I really do think Amelia just had a rough day and was looking for some familial comfort. She’d already been reminiscing about how close y’all used to be, it’s that hard of a logical leap.

And Fb has spent the past three weeks setting your LI up to come off like he’s doing shady shit at the end of every volume so you as the player have the chance to be (semi justifiable) mad about it.

Long story short: It’s honestly just a series of unfortunate accidents. I know personally I told Jamal to surprise me with cuddles, so that’s what he thought he was doing. Amelia just wants some comfort from her sis, and was probably thinking the person crawling into bed was us. FB didn’t let us see her reaction to the person joining her in bed, just that she was there. It’s pitch dark. They’ve played their “twin switcheroo” card.

P.S. even if Amelia was trying to steal our man, I can guarantee she would want the LI to know he was choosing her. If you’re purposely pursuing someone take, it’s 1000% more satisfying for that person to actively choose you than it is for the LI to fall for a case of mistaken identity

Who taught the FB team how to story branch???? Cuz honestly that’s been a big thing lacking from the seasons on the new app. And sure, there are some things we’d like as fans to be individualized and branched and it’s just too complicated to do it right (especially if you’re not good at it) but good golly Molly I’ve been poking around online and FB is getting the hang of it?????

When you’re LI pulls you for a chat about the reveal that Ivy’s partner kissed Amelia, the response depends on who she’s partnered with. If she’s with Jamal, Ryan supposedly gets upset about the situation as a general thing. If Ryan is her partner, Lewie/Jamal say he’s genuinely sorry but still poke fun with a poem.

But guys. They make up different poems. I don’t think you realize how IMPORTANT that is. It’s very very very easy from a writing and coding perspective to just write one mocking poem and have both boys preform it. Copy and paste is a very helpful tool. But FB DIDNT DO THAT

No instead FB wrote two separate poems, and wrote them in character no less, and wrote them in a way that showcased the LI’s personality even just a tiny bit.

They did the same with Roberto, where whatever you said your type on paper was six episodes ago (which feels like a forever ago reference for FB) he tries to emulate that. Continuously. It’s not just for one scene.

It was Ryan for me as well (My baby Jamal would never) and honestly he got so defensive at the end of the convo. He brought up bro code and while Jamal said it still looking neutral facial wise, Ryan had on his angry face, saying things like “you need to look somewhere else if you’re looking for a culprit”.

You know what’s kind of annoying about the jamal/ryan missing Amelia situation? It’s just that when we get the option to go around the villa to talk to each of the guys jamal/ryan denies that it was them and says that they want to honor the bro code only for it to be them in the end. Sometimes boys are stupid, and sometimes they also lie😂 To be completely honest, I zone out while playing at times, so I don’t remember the exact dialogue lol👀 But I guess from my understanding (it was Ryan in my game who kissed Amelia), he probably thought it’d never come out and/or wanted to shift the blame on someone else, to cover himself up, but alas… Lol I didn’t believe Ryan for one second tbh, when Bella asked me who it was (or was it Grace? Or maybe they both asked me at different points?), I was like, “yep, it was defo Ryan who kissed Amelia!” And I guess I can see Jamal lying/trying to cover himself up too, with all his “player” image thing👀

It might not be much help, but I found out if you wear the suggested premium outfit the premium scene is half off. I wore the floral bathing suit and my scene only cost 15 gems

It’s still a ridiculous cash grab with the 20+ diamond outfits, and if it’s like the last few seasons it absolutely has to be the one they suggested or the coding won’t recognize it as a premium outfit. But there is a discount. Technically. So do with this information what you will.
