lovely visit from the trauma anon. you struggled with self worth because you weren't anything unless you were excelling didn't you. was it academics? or art? You weren't necessarily emotionally neglected but the gifted kid burnout was real. Do you have younger siblings? was their care pushed onto you often?

OOOH you're not wrong. i am an eldest child, was a gifted kid, and fell Hard. that being said, i didn't have it like ... pushed onto me ?? i just. was like that i fucking guess

the thing is i didnt even struggle with self worth really, i thought i was hot shit. i thought i was/could be/would be good at eveyrthing, so i made myself be good at everything all the time until i physically couldnt, because i thought my natural state of being. is the best way i can explain it

honestly i think more of my neuroses come from the fact that i was neither bullied nor popular as a child i just had negative zero friends and no one knew i existed.

...except for the teachers because i was good at things and followed the rules which might loop back around into what you said actually. hm.

btw, from a canon-purist perspective, adjectives are not valid slugcat titles. this is the pettiest pet peeve ever, but. no canon slugcats are shown with adjective titles; though adjective titles are grammatically correct there is no evidence to support them being canon-compliant.

(this is not against adjective titles, btw, i am an active advocate for messing with or ignoring canon rules where it's fun! but they are not canon-compliant. that's not a good thing or a bad thing but it's something that i see a lot of people be mistaken about. tahnk yoy for coming to my ted talk)
