I actually can't stop thinking about a JATP x Dead Boy Detectives crossover.

Willie contacting DBD to finally get something done about Caleb

Caleb's gaydar going off for Edwin and then trying to pair him off with Dante and Fuego like he did for Alex.

Caleb working his manipulative ways to make DBD believe he's not the bad one and it's actually 'Willie and his boyfriend's little boyband' that are causing the chaos.

DBD being suspicious but following along anyway and meeting Julie and The Phantoms.

Crystal and Julie having a bonding moment about being girls with ghost boys as pets - instantly certain there's no way this group are the trouble just because of their similarities.

Charles asking the band which one of them is Willie's boyfriend, and when everyone turns to Alex, Edwin can't stop watching him - not because he's attracted to him, but there's another gay ghost that has actually managed to get a boyfriend after death. Fascinating.

Luke being super defensive about the group, Charles being super defensive about their investigation, so they start off butting heads. Somewhere along the line, Charles mentions being alive in the 80s and then Luke's like '... omg me too' and they just forget they weren't getting along.

Eventually Edwin starts talking to Alex and asks him about how he found Willie and how he even made the move to be his boyfriend and Alex gets all shy about it and then tells Edwin his story and Edwin's like 'the only boys that have shown interest in me have been a crow and a cat' and Alex just goes '.... okay....'

Niko and Reggie, meanwhile, are talking about horses and Reggie's country songs

Thinking of how Sunset Curve and Dead Boy Detectives would act around each other

It's a fact that Edwin would hate all three of the boys until him and Alex have a heart to heart about being dead and gay. They're connected now.

Edwin telling Sunset Curve about his journey through hell and Reggie just being like 'that reminds me of when we were almost trapped by Caleb' - but Alex is instantly like 'no...'

Charles and Luke would have an absolute blast together being total rays of sunshine with crushes on the girls that can see them.

Hold on because Niko and Reggie would absolutely love each other and might form one brain cell between them ahhhhhhhhh

It's funny because I established my characters and dynamics of the band before watching JATP and then reflecting on the story it could easily have been like a JATP fanfiction

Thinking about it again, I think they should have used more self aware kind of songs, since the movie broke the fourth wall, get the songs that match that vibe.

I need to vent about How To Date Billy Walsh

I have been waiting for HTDBW since it was announced. I was excited and ready to let it slide that it was ye olde friend in love with his bestie thing. I thought maybe we'd get something new and special with it. I was literally an admin for an update account on Twitter.

Instead, however, I was left confused, irritated and underwhelmed...

The film seemed to take forever to get through the plot it was rushing.

Amelia's mum dying was honestly totally brushed over and zoomed past, and the only reason we rushed past that was for the five seconds when Billy said his mum died so Amelia could empathise with him. Okay, yeah, you can do that but if you're going to do that, give us more?

Billy Walsh, the boy with his literaly name in the title, gave us nothing. We got a 'nobody wants to get to know me' and found out nothing about him other than he doesn't really talk to his dad and his mum's dead. That is his entire personality. I like that he stuck up for himself, but other than that he was bland.

The talking to the camera didn't feel continuous and actually felt awkward a lot of the time, either it needed more or none at all - I'm leaning towards none at all, because we all get it. They probably did this just to have the introduction of the friendship and Archie's feelings but it could have been done without the fourth wall breaks, idk like Archie trying to film a love confession and getting flustered and deleting it.

The song choices and placement completely took away from the story too, I am still questioning WHY that had Maisie Peters perform John Hughes Movie at the end... As Amelia and Archie got together... The song is literally about not ending up together - and actually, that's how the film should have ended, I don't care. He fucked her over, he tried to embarrass her, and what he comes in and says one dumbass monologue about stars and now she wants to be with him? Give over. The movie should have ended, him giving the monologue, admitting he fucked up, and then leaving as John Hughes Movie comes in, and Amelia just goes back to enjoying herself at prom, even if she feels bittersweet about her friend leaving. Maybe, just maybe, if that had happened, I would have finished the film with a better feeling than the one I had.
