We well be going into our prep week for the panto, and i will be putting together the final tweeks on the ‘book’ i have to say i enjoy making the ‘book’

Kinky boots review

I saw this show about two months ago in glasgow, and i have to say i was abit spetical at first, but it was on of the best nights i have had in the theater!

The music in this show is so uplifting and moving, and if your not up dancing in your seat at the end of it then there is something wrong with you.

It tells the story of a shoe factory who is struggling to stay afloat through difficult times, and then they hit there neesh market making high heeled shows for drag queens.

The music in this show is amazing and the story is second to none! If you havent seen this show honestly go see it, it is proberly the campest show out there but it will make you feel so good inside and you will leave the theater smiling!

Update on Rehearsals so far

Rehearsals are going well, we have taken 2 weeks off for the October holidays! by the time we come back All the cast should have learned there lines, so that we can mark the show. 

What is Marking do i here you ask. 

- Marking is a term in theatre where the director will will take the cast in stage and mark where they are going to be standing, entrances and exits. And also for the Scenary where the scene will sit on the stage and how it all fits on the stage.

I will update this every step of the way, of the different stages we take to put on a great show for our paying public.

Our Christmas Production

So as you all no, and may not want to beleive it Christmas is nearly upon us. 

This year our production is a classic and one that everyone loves and that is Peter Pan! the magical story of the young boy, who can fly and wants to stay a young boy forever. 

We have started rehearsing and all the cast have been given there parts and i think everyone is happy with there parts. 

As with every production it comes with its challenges and i do love a good challenge!!, Myself and the director have been tossing ideas around with regards to the set design and scenery elements. 

I have a excellent stage crew that works along side me and i no that with there help along with the Director and all the cast it will be an amazing show. 

More on this as Rehearsals develop and sets are made.

Phantom of the Opera

So i went and saw this show about 3 months ago in London, and oh my god! It was amazing so good!

Everything from the cast to the set and crew we all amazing. The lead Actors were amazing such talented people and such amazing voices!

The set design of this show is second to none, and the way the set moves on and off the stage and the way bits of the stage drop to create a stair case down the phantoms layer.

The story of this production is magical! Such a heart warming story and such a sad peice too, and the music reflects this.

I highly recommend everyone to go and see this production, as anyone who sees this will be happy,sad and above all will have such an amazing night at the theater!

Welcome To My blog

Hello, Not sure how to start this but here goes, I suppose i should start by introducing myself , my name is Euan and i am a Amature Stage manager from the Isle of Arran on the Westcoast of Scotland. I have been a stage manager now for nearly 10 years and been doing stage work since i was 12 years old. And although i have never worked on a professional stage, I have studyied stage management myself through books and various youtube videos. 

I love the Theater working in it or going to see a show there is nothing like live theater which i am sure lots of you will agree with me. 

My Favorite shows have to be. 

- Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Kinky boots, Lion King, Hairspray and so many more.

I Also intend to write rewiews of shows i have seen recently and also in the past, What i thought of them, story line, Set Movement etc and whither or not i would recommend for you to go and see it. 

My Aim here is to maybe offer help or suggestion to young people who are maybe thinking of starting out in stage management or any kind of Theater job. Whither it be stage management or Props, set design, costumes, set construction. Anything i will do my best to help and if i don’t no anything i will find out the write answers. 

I am new to this as i say so bare with me my page looks a little bare, but it is a working progress.
