For the last time: Mary Shelley and Lord Byron were friends. She didn't hate him. His death was a very painful loss to her. She didn't write Frankenstein because she was stuck in a house with him and he was an unbearable person. For God's sake, just read her journals and letters.

The Escape (A Frozen Storm short story)
[TW: Gore and body horror, mentions of a knife, mentions of a gun)
Helio listened quietly to Orion’s soft sobs in the other cell, before shuffling over to a hole on the wall, peering at him as his expression softened. He knocked on the wall quietly, but then threw a piece of rubble at him, Orion letting out a startled cry and looking around. “H-hello? Is anyone there?” Helio waggled his fingers through the gap and he gasped, immediately standing and moving closer and kneeling down. Helio smiled a little, despite his worry, he noticed Orion looked around his age, despite the grief in his eyes that seemed to age him. His ears were drooping slightly, and he looked away from Helio with a sigh. “What’s wrong?” Helio asked tentatively, just then catching a glance at Orion’s razor sharp teeth as he hugged his knees close to himself. “…I lost my mother, and everyone thinks I killed her!” He let out another sob and Helio sighed slightly, looking away to hide the doubt in his eyes, fiddling with a piece of rock on the floor of his cell, tossing it between his hands. “Well… did you?”
Orion froze in shock, seeming unable to speak or even move for a moment, before quickly shaking his head and burying his face in his hands with another wail. Helio stiffened slightly, immediately getting the idea that that was the exact opposite of what he should’ve said, so reached through the gap as far as he could to pat his shoulder nervously, murmuring vague words of comfort to the young grieving man as sobs wracked his thin, weak body. After all, Helio knew full well the pain of losing a parent, with his mother passing away from illness and the... incident that turned him away from magic and stories forever. But Helio couldn't continue living in the past, he had to move on from painful memories that left scars on his heart, and so he began clawing away at the rubble. Orion looked up slightly, giving him a confused look, before his eyes widened, realising what he was trying to do, and started to claw away from his side as well, as the ruined old bricks began to crumble as they scratched and yanked and tugged. Eventually, Orion thrust out one hand, pushing Helio back as the part of the wall collapsed, missing him by inches, and the raven-haired young man managed to pull himself through, landing onto Helio's lap and quickly scrambling up again, his face flushed pink. The two stood up, surveying the cell, and unfortunately discovering that the bars were really rather sturdy, and wouldn't be budging anytime soon, as it seemed.
"...I've got an idea!" Orion grinned brightly at Helio, his excitement causing a slight smile to prick at his lips, and he nodded for him. "How about we cause a ruckus? Then, the guards will come in, try and put me back in the cell, and I'll take em out!" Although the dark haired man's plan sounded promising, as Helio sized him up, he couldn't help but doubt Orion, as his small, skinny stature didn't exactly make him seem... tough. Orion's ears seemed to droop slightly as he noticed the doubt in Helio's eyes, but the look he gave him was.. defiant. Some might have even called it fierce, and Helio smiled slightly at the spark of rebellion in the young man, his confidence returning. And so he nodded in agreement, and the two men worked together to be as loud as possible, yelling and slamming their hands on the bars. Sure enough, just as Orion had said, a guard came running, snorting in disgust and contempt at Orion as he hauled him up by the arms, pulling him out of the cell. Then, the horrible cracking sounds of twisting and reforming flesh, as Orion's jaw unhinged, snapping down on the guard who only had a few moments to panic before his neck was crushed, falling limp to the floor as Orion pulled the corpse out of his mouth and shoving it away, before collecting the keys from the man's belt and unlocking Helio's cell, flinching at the horrified, yet awestruck gaze of the man. The taller man blinked a few times, before standing and walking past Orion, giving the corpse a little kick, just in case there was any, very unlikely, life left in the guard. He looked back at the raven-haired young man, as he wiped the blood from his mouth in tearful disgust. "I-how did you-" Helio began, but Orion cut him off with a sigh, collecting his things and passing Helio his own belongings with a faint, exhausted smile on his face, his cheeks still streaked with tears. "I'm half-siren, o-on my mother's side." His voice trembled as he mentioned his late mother, his eyes dropping to the floor, and the first mate tucked an arm around Orion's shoulders gently to comfort him.
He shook his head slightly, wiping away the faint tears from his eyes, and continued out, into the beaming lights of the festival that continued to move on, despite the lack of Orion's presence, making his heart ache for the life he could never hope to return to. Soon, the alarms began to blare, and panicked screams emerged from the crowds, parting the way as Orion and Helio managed to shove their way through as guards filed out from the garrison, swords unsheaved. Helio pressed a knife into Orion’s hands, drawing his cutlass and tilting slightly to get a better balance. “You should do the jaw thing..” He muttered in Orion’s ear, and the man tensed, but nodded in agreement, his jaw unhinging as he lunges at the nearest guard, sending a group of them running in terror, squealing with fear, as Helio bared his teeth at the remaining guards, who backed up.
Orion grinned with triumph, although his smile fell as a familiar face pushed to the front. The two brothers stared at each other, Thomas’ face twisted into a foul sneering grimace as he pulled out a revolver, Orion frozen in shock before Helio shoved Thomas to the floor, grabbing his new companion’s hand and running. A knife clattered out from Thomas’ pocket, stained with blood the colour of the waves. Siren’s blood. Helio and Orion clambered onto the ship, the newcomer greeted warmly by the crew, as Alastair examined the knife dropped by his son, realising the truth. He stayed silent, watching his now innocent Orion sail away, smiling slightly at his freedom, before pocketing the knife, resolving to keep his mouth shut, in fear of what his remaining son would do to him if he didn’t. After all.
Thomas killed his own mother, what would stop him from killing his father too?

There is a conversation to be had about the fact that Taylor Swift's album is being played in its entirety across all of iHeartRadio's 868 stations, pushing out the opportunities other artists might have had to get radioplay. That's the literal definition of a monopoly. No wonder she'll hit the top of the radio play charts with this maneuver, because at least 65 minutes (if not the back side of the album, which would take it to nearly twice that length) across EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT STATIONS will be dedicated to her, artificially boosting her radio play and decreasing everyone else's. In this essay I will—
