sorry for being such a boomer but i can't stand having to download a different app for every event i want to go to just to access my fucking tickets. i should be able to call a number and order them over the phone without the internet and then go to a nice old man at a booth on the day of the show and pick up my little paper tickets.

alright i am sick of yt to mp4 sites being shady and full of viruses and finding websites that seem to be working and then don't work (looking at you y232 (no hate, just frustrated))
so HERE'S HOW YOU DOWNLOAD YOUTUBE VIDEOS WITH VLC!! VLC FREAKIN RULES!!
get your youtube link
open vlc, go to media > open network stream
paste your url in the box and PRESS PLAY!
wait for the video to open then go to tools > codec information
copy the entire file location (click the box, then ctrl-a to select all, then ctrl-c to copy)
paste into your browser of choice (i use firefox)
right click video and press "save video as", choose your file format if you want
DONE! NO VIRUSES OR SKETCHY STUFF!
the quality might be a little crummy but if you don't mind that, then shabam! video on your computer! then you can email it to yourself and have it on your phone too if you want! if you need a guide with pictures wikihow has you covered my friends
happy downloading and stay safe on the internet :D

Listen to me. Men are boxes and women are circles is made up. Those how to draw anime books are made up. 99% of all style guides are made up. But color theory is very very real.

So earlier in art class today, someone drew a characters hands in their pockets and mentioned that hands are really like the ultimate end boss of art, and most of us wholeheartedly agreed. So then, our teacher went ahead and free handed like a handful of hands on the board, earning a woah from a couple of students. So the one from earlier mentioned how it barely took the teacher ten seconds to do what I can’t do in three hours. And you know what he responded?
“It didn’t take me ten seconds, it took me forty years.”
And you know, that stuck with me somehow. Because yeah. Drawing a hand didn’t take him fourth years. But learning and practicing to draw a hand in ten seconds did. And I think there’s something to learn there but it’s so warm and my brain is fried so I can’t formulate the actual morale of the lesson.

Me @ myself on the regular 😅 I did learn 'kortze' this week though! That refers to a person who thinks they're in charge, but in actuality isn't needed at all for the situation or project 😂
Used in a sentence:
"Stand a kortze in front of a windmill. The blades turn and he thinks he's the boss of them."
I want to learn Yiddish <- words of a guy who won’t be doing that

Public Domain Day 2024
Once again its the day we all wait for, public domain day. the day some thing get ripped out of the clasps of the claws of corporations. This year is notable for many things becoming public domain but specifically a certain mouse in the united states. Here's an example of some of the things but note that this is only a sampling of what's become public domain
In Europe and other life of author + 70 years areas:
The Wind Has Risen by Tatsuo Hori
The polish Koziołek Matołek comics by Kornel Makuszyński
Mr. Weston's Good Wine by T.F Powys
In New Zealand and other life of author + 50 years areas:
J.R.R Tolkien's work, but only the ones published during his lifetime. Things published by his son Christopher are not public domain
Margaret Wilson's The Able McLaughlins
The works of crime writer Lucy Beatrice Malleson (Anthony Gilbert)
In the US:
All things published in 1928
The big one of course, Steamboat Willie and the earliest incarnation of Mickey Mouse. Disney still owns trademarks so be careful and theres some things like his gloves that didnt appear until later and im sure the Mouse's lawyers are watching like hawks
The House at Pooh Corner, first appearance of Tigger
Orlando: A Biography by Virginia Woolf
Theres much more. Take a peek over at Project Gutenberg or The Internet Archive

Something about telling people their package tracking numbers and expected delivery dates makes me feel more like a real professional artist, it's so exciting! Like, people like my work enough to pay a shipping fee, wow!!?!

Stop using disabled people as yours reasons for defending AI art!
What do I mean by this??
I mean the abled artists are using us as their shield by blatantly saying disabled people CAN'T make art without the Ai generators stealing it for us. To excuse their lack of creativity and willingness to practice and hone their craft.
Not only is that insulting as fuck (I'm a professional artist of 12 years, never needed Ai I just needed to do it my way) it's more ableist than ever before.
They think we're inept because they are, but Ai art is NOT ACCESSIBILITY it is simply THEFT, much of which is stolen from, you guessed it, DISABLED PEOPLE!

The bitch of a thing about trying to look up words I've heard my family use all my life is that Yiddish just shrugs and says 'eh good enough' when written in English. It's Schrodinger's spelling where it's all right and wrong at once, but either way Google has no clue what the fuck I'm talking about.
