I know Caleb isn’t the type of villain who deserves any kind of redemption arc but I think it’d be a fun AU where he falls into the trope of a bigger, badder Big Bad (maybe the devil he made a deal with to get his powers?) arriving so he becomes a reluctant ally to the band

I imagine in this au the Big Bad took away his powers, maybe because he lost the band and Willie’s souls, meaning he failed to meet some quota or something

And he goes to the band being like look if you can defeat me you can probably defeat this guy and if you don’t he’ll destroy us all so truce?

And of course the band is like fuck no you tried to kill us and they send him away, but then Willie encounters the Big Bad and is like this guy is the Real Deal maybe we do need Caleb

But because Caleb is a trickster the band writes up a detailed contract and has no less than seventeen very confused lawyers look it over for loopholes before forcing Caleb to sign it bc contracts are the only sense of honor Caleb has

(side note tricksters are traditionally genderfluid and now i'm about to make a whole other post about genderfluid Caleb)

Caleb signs the contract bc he’s desperate and suddenly the band has this weird murder uncle who’s always hanging around and suggesting violent and devious solutions to all their problems

They get sick of this in less than twenty-four hours so Reggie, Ray, and Carlos are assigned to teach How to be a Good Person 101. Victoria joins them after the first lesson to translate into the aggressive language Caleb actually understands and to intimidate him into compliance

Eventually it sort of kind of works in that the band starts to see why Willie was so taken with him and the Club at first because he's sort of cool when he wants to be

After a few months of this (around the time Caleb starts handing out unsolicited (or sometimes solicited) Elder Queer Advice™) the band realizes with horror that they're actually just the tiniest bit fond of their weird murder uncle? And Caleb realizes he's the tiniest bit fond of his weird near-murder victim nieces and nephews? None of them will ever admit that though, they'll take that secret to their second grave

When it comes time to defeat the Big Bad Caleb sees an opportunity to take a loophole the seventeen lawyers missed and rejoin the Big Bad to get his powers back and either entrap the band or destroy them. He seriously considers it, but there's two rather annoying voices in the back of his head that sound suspiciously like Reggie and Victoria telling him to do the right thing, so he sucks it up and helps the band defeat the Big Bad

Maybe it turns out being free of the Big Bad is his unfinished business and he crosses over afterwards. He leaves the Club to Willie and Willie frees all the souls Caleb had control over but rebuilds the Club into a genuine community for ghosts who have nowhere else to go (bc that's how Caleb got so many of them in the first place)

jatp characters favourite ghibli films based on basically nothing

alex: princess mononoke, because he loves the scenery backgrounds and could stare at them forever, and also experiences a great deal of anxiety about the environment. also he has a huge crush on prince ashitaka

luke: howl's moving castle, he too is enormously dramatic but also would give a girl a whole field of flowers just to make her happy

reggie: laputa castle in the sky, fun and full of action but also beautiful and wistful, on the cusp of childhood vs adulthood

julie: whisper of the heart, because what's more julie than a girl who finds a passion for songwriting instead of school, falls in love with a boy who makes violins, and then keeps on loving him even when he goes away

flynn: the cat returns, which TERRIFIED all her friends as a kid but she was fascinated by it, to this day she claims it as one of the best movies ever made

willie: spirited away, would absolutely dream of being whisked away by a cute dragon-boy, relates to being controlled by a scary oversized villain who has stolen his full name

bobby: kiki's delivery service, because being out in the big world all on your own and doing the thing you love until it loses its meaning seems resonant

nick: ponyo, because being pre-school best friends is his whole vibe and i bet he knows the technical scientific names of a bunch of prehistoric fish, it just seems Right

carrie: the tale of princess kaguya. she vibes with being so driven insane by the standards for women that you go into a nightmare induced rage that destroys even the line art of your own film

carlos: porco rosso, because he loves the pig and because there's extremely cool planes OR castle of cagliostro because he thinks it's hilarious

ray: the wind rises, because it's a tender and soft story of a man doing his best through a lot of loss and mistakes

caleb: pom poko, because it has his chaotic evil energy

tia victoria: my neighbour totoro, because sisterly bonds are for life and also because she'd think totoro was super cute and buy little stuffed versions of him for julie and carlos

Madison Reyes just put out her FIRST ever single that she worked hard on and almost everyone, both cast and fandom, has been quiet about it. But when the boys do something, even the smallest thing, y'all go crazy and loud and give them all the attention you can. I know this isn't surprising but I thought since this is a milestone for her for putting out her first single, the hype will be there. And I was proven wrong. What more does she have to do for you to give them the same amount of love and support? Madison Reyes has been representing young latina women in the industry. She's the LEAD actress of a hit Netflix show with multiple awards. She's a Daytime Emmy Award Nominee. She's a 17 year old woman who just come out with a single without a record label. Why is this keep happening? Where's the support that Madi deserves as much as the boys? Where's the hype that she probably has been anticipating since she first announced her single? I feel bad for her. People keep sidetracking her in everything and don't even feel sorry about it. I mean, heck, even the fucking cover of this tag is literally a picture of Charlie Gillespie. And don't even get me started with how most people in the fandom only come to her Instagram Live to ask for the boys. This whole thing is so disrespectful and embarassing.
