Nandor froze when he read the message and then immediately proceeded to drop the phone on his desk as if this one was burning through his skin. How was he supposed to reply to this? oh, he knew how, but couldn’t bring himself to write those three words. -- It wasn’t that Nandor thought himself incapable of love, or that he didn’t believe in it. The problem was that as much as he wanted to be loved and needed to feel loved, love was also something that scared him. What they had between them was fine, it made him happy, and yes, slowly Manfred had become this person of great importance to Nandor, but love? love was a very heavy word, making this relationship about love implied so many things and Nandor could feel himself panicking.

He grabbed the phone and then put it immediately back down, an action that he repeated around three more times until he finally began to type his message. ‘Same’, ‘Cool’, ‘I know’, ‘Don’t blame you’, ‘Of course you do’, ‘✌’ He typed each one of these and deleted them before sending them. There was one that took him the longest to type.

‘Yes, thanks, this... It makes me happy to know it, and if you want to know something, I guess you can say that I love you too... even if at times you’re a bit of an idiot and your jokes are not at all funny, but you’re okay I guess, more than ok and the nights are kind of boring when you’re not around. Also, sorry for being kind of a dick sometimes.’

He decided to read what he had typed once again before pressing send. “Eew no, that.. this... it’s too much, it’s too ridiculous. Forget it.” This message as well was deleted only to be replaced by a much shorter one that Nandor was quick to send.

I don’t, I don’t think so, no.” He tried to look as calmed and composed as he did when everything was alright and running smoothly, but that awkward smile of his and the tone of his voice was enough to give him away. “Azizam, I think you’re just imagining things, it’s late and at this hour you should be already all warm in bed and sleeping, so... how about you turn around and go back to your house. I’ll see you tomorrow, night-night. Bye.” He did not wait for Manfred to leave, instead, he was quick to step back inside and almost close the door in his face.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Nandor.” Inside a box was a set of colourful hair scrunchies, bat hangers for his capes, and a bat stuffed animal to cuddle with when he’s in bat form. //ta-da! ;) he watched videos of bats online and discovered they like to cuddle stuffed animals, so… ;)

"Wow...” Honestly, he was impressed by those hangers, he didn’t even know people made this. He inmediately took one out and opened it too look at it. “It’s almost like a real bat.” He opened its ‘wings’ a couple of times, before putting it back in the box and moving onto the next one. -- The stuffed bat was honestly adorable, and he would be keeping it inside his coffin for sure. “And what are these? bracelets? they’re shiny, and colorful? I like them. This is really, nice, thank you.” He looked down at his presents with a wide smile on his lips. “Come here.” He set the box on top of his coffin and opened his arms to put them tightly around Manfred and give him a tight hug (perhaps a bit too tight).

You sleep in it, don’t you?” No, not Manfred, but he wasn’t taking that into consideration at the moment. “Beds are dangerous for vampires, someone opens a window and that’s it, you die. You end up like a piece of bacon that was left too long in the oven. Extra burnt and extra crispy. -- What do you think of this one?” He put his hand over a gray coffin. “The color doesn’t go with the room, right?” he said, answering his own question. “Let’s keep looking.”
