My mom was watching Virgin River yesterday - an episode where Michael Shanks guest starred.

I happened to walk into the room while he was on screen and freaked out - always happy to have an excuse to rant about Stargate to my family.

BUT my mom shut me down with one simple sentence, "He kinda looks like your dad."

.....my abusive father. The one I haven't had any contact with in over a decade.

Worst part is - she's absolutely right. I can't unsee it. I can't stop thinking about it.

They have the same general facial structure. The same blue eyes. Same forehead. Same eyebrows. Same hair colour. Same general colouring.

They're from the same CITY. They're about the same age (my dad is 3 years older than Shanks). It's uncanny.

Thank God I've never personally found Shanks attractive or this would be causing an extreme crisis.

.....also did I mention that my dad was adopted so it's very possible that Shanks and my dad are cousins or something. Given their physical similarities, ages, and places of birth.
