Well I drank the pink milk (figuratively speaking haha) and watched both series recently.

I kinda liked both cast for the most part but I'm a nitpicker sometimes when someone re-tell a story but make changes. It's my LOVE BY CHANCE 2: A CHANCE TO LOVE ILLNESS.

How someone (MAME) can dismantle a perfectly good story only to completely re-tell it while simultaneously using a main character from the first one to continue telling the first story sorta. But I digress (Moving on...)

Anyway, 2 MOONS stars 5 members of a band called SBFIVE and was release in 2017. The main character of Dr. Phana was not a part of the SBFIVE band.

ITTHIPAT THANIT [Nickname: GOD] apparently quit of a series meant to have 3 parts. And it seems almost systematically the rest of the cast was not to be in the 2nd Part 2MOONS2

Then another band emerged as the recast. Well I guess they debuted after being casted in 2MOONS2. 2MOONS2 was released in 2 years after the 1st Series in 2019. The band OXQ (ORIDINARY X QUAKE) debuted in June 2020 under Motive Village. The group disbanded the same year presumably due ongoing controversies as each member left Motive Village.

So 2MOONS3 The Ambassador is set to recast the roles again. According to MYDRAMALIST 2 members of the cast have been chosen. The role of Ming set to be played by Chris Chen [Nickname: EIFFEL] a Thai-Taiwanese singer and the role of Forth set to be played by PUMIPAT PAIBOON [Nickname: PRAME] but who knows.

Anyway, after recently watching both series here's my opinion of the cast.

Dr. Phana

First played by ITTHIPAT THANIT aka GOD

Then by BENJAMIN BRASIER aka BEN

In my opinion this one goes to GOD. Both brought their own thing to the role. Both are handsome but GOD just seemed better to me. For me I think Phoom/Pavel should've played Phana. PAVEL has that leading man appeal like GOD. Plus they match hotness wise. Don't get me wrong BEN is definitely a Hottie.

Wayo or Yo

First played by SURADEJ PINNIRAT aka BAS Then by TEERAPAT RUANGRITKUL aka EARTH

In my opinion these two were evenly matched. I liked both of them so much. I did see a YouTube video of Bas wishing the new cast well but crying because he held an attachment to the role he could no longer play. I'd say Earth did him proud. I also read Earth statement as he was the first of the second cast to dropout.

Ming

First played by WARODOM KHEMMONTA aka KIMMON

Then by ARCHEN AYDIN aka JOONG

Okay, this one for me was hard. Having fell in love with JOONG from his role of Khabkluen on STAR IN MY MIND I was hoping to like him more as Ming and I did. So this one is a draw. I liked both of them.

KIT

First played by PANUWAT KERDTHONGTAVEE aka COPTER

Then by KORNCHID BOONSATHITPAKDEE aka NINE

Well this was a close one for me. Nine was a better Kit for me. Copter was good but Nine was just a little better. Copter was favorite until I saw the 2nd series. Both very good but a slight edge to Nine.

Forth

First played by DARVID KREEPOLRERK aka TAE

Then by NARET PROMPHAOPUN aka PHOOM/PAVEL

Okay. This one was a draw as well. I loved both of these portrayals of Forth very much. But like I said earlier I think Pavel would have matched or been better than GOD as Dr. Phana. That being said I think he was terrific as Forth.

No one was asking for it and we all know the production is gonna be another shit show. I just hope the actors don’t have to deal with too much shit.

This is the third set of actors playing these characters. The only saving grace is that there’s another couple so we’ll get some new story. I have to idea where in the timeline this season will take place. After season 2? Or along side the main story? At least they had the decency to not tell the same story for the third time and went with something slightly different.

It still blows my mind that we’re seeing the same characters but played by three completely different actors. Overall now that’s 20 ACTORS! My god. That’s too much for one brain to handle.

After my Gen Y rewatch last week I randomly decided to start rewatching 2 Moons as well. I was never really that big on the first version since I started with 2 Moons 2 and the actors and characterisation just stuck with me but this time around I'm actually invested (as invested as you can be with something made by a shitty company that was remade 2 1/2 times and is open-ended).

Only... Pha is so incredibly unlikeable in this version what the hell (at one point he tells Wayo to jump off a building - I mean I love the miscommunication trope and characters that are rough around the edges but there's that - like Pha in 2 Moons 2 - and then there's this arsehole).

Just finished 2moons (somebody put a brake on me. I can't seem to stop this BL train). It was quite enjoyable.

But I did not get the sense of yearning from Pha that I expected. I mean I haven't yet watched 2moons2 and I get that this was more Wayo's story, but still I want my semes to go through it😜.

Yeah PhaYo are the least interesting pair in that franchise, it's why I think 2 Moons 2 is better. I like both side couples more and they get a lot more screen time.

2Moons2: a guilty pleasure

ngl lads, i put on 2Moons2 as background noise while i try to study. i forgot how very self-indulgent it is and now its beck in my radar as one of my guilty pleasures.

its not perfect, gods no. the story telling is subpar, i think 2 moons2 spent waaay too much time retelling the first 2moons, but i guess it served as a great stepping stone to get to know the new cast and their roles, so im not that mad about it. I still wished that they gave us more MingKit and ForthBeam though. like Pha and Wayo is already a couple, can we focus on how Ming is trying to score Kit and how Kit is shooting every advances down??? give me MingKit please??? also ForthBeam??? My dude Forth was so distressed because he doesn't do one-night stands so he is trying to make an honest man out of Beam who just wants to fuck off because of course he is an emotionally stunted gremlin. So much potential to push forward the other storylines but we only got the bare minimum. i want to scream. i love the 2moon's franchise's story but the execution barely hit.

Imagine a GMMTV 2moons

I know no one wants another 2moons and it will never happen, but just imagine it.

Because it’s not a company that fucks with their actors like Motive Village, this would mean the story would actually get completed. And as much as we shit on GMMTV, they continue to make some of the best stuff out there.

My brain supplied me with some excellent casting ideas so hear me out

OffGun as PhaYo, not a bad idea, they suit the roles, Gun especially reminds me of Wayo.

ForceBook as ForthBeam. Force —> Forth isn’t much of a change and they do remind me of Pavel and Dome like just look at them.

And the cherry on top, the icing on the cake.

JoongDunk as Mingkit. Think about it. Joong reminds me so much of the guy who plays Ming in 2moons2, I can’t put my finger on it but they’re so similar 😆. But seriously they suit the roles perfectly. Dunk would be an amazing Kit. I love you Nine and I love you KimCop but you’re busy doing other things I get it.

Din has had very few roles but they have all been in the BL genre. Starting with being tapped to replace Suradej Pinnirat [Nickname: BAS] as Wayo in the 2nd Season of 2 Moons.

Din however was the first to leave the second cast ahead of the much anticipated 3rd Season of the franchise. It was alleged that Din was the victim of sexual harassment of a higher up older man at Motive Village. Someone who didn't take to kindly to rejection. It was also said this man was preventing Din from getting other work. No charges were ever file.

Din's next job was in a BL short series (super short...maybe 12 minutes) called Scent of Love with co-star Chatchawan Jitraxtham [Nickname: FLUK] whom he would also star in this 3rd series My Secret Love. Scent of Love was less of a BL short series and more of an extended cologne advertisement. But it was cute.

Din is a great actor in my opinion but as the main couple in My Secret Love a lot of fans felt the side couples were better. I don't disagree though as a fan I think he did the best he could with the role. With a better script and a great director Din/Fluk pairing could be incredible unless they're moving on.

I have watched many videos about Din. He is a hardworking young man with respect for his elders and a willingness to learn. He was excluded from the boyband created by Motive Village with the entire main cast of 2MOONS2 citing he did not have the requirements of singing, rapping and dancing.

He ultimately left Motive Village as did cast mates at a later time. Hope to see Din in a better series and better role sometime soon.
