Ground Beta had been destroyed and UA overall hadn't fared much better. Bodies of innocent civilians were being pulled from the rubble of collapsed buildings and the ashes of decay floated through the air. The monster's invasion of UA had gone off almost without a hitch, leaving the heroes scrambling to deal with the mess that remained.
And Yoichi. Forcibly dragged to the surface of One for All by his brother's own hand, into a body that was in no way his own.
Leaving Midoriya sealed within the Quirk and unable to wake up.

A healing Quirk to a volatile telepathic connection.
Hardening to an ever changing Ice Quirk.

Izuku watched as Uraraka forced a swallow, her attention rapidly going back out to the stretched shadows that the buildings cast. Searching.
Everyone was on edge, they all had been for a while.
Since the screaming elsewhere in the Training Grounds had died off to an all too sudden halt and icy fingers of confusion and dread picked its way down their necks.
This was an activity, they were being observed by their teachers, if something had gone wrong then it would have ended abruptly.
It didn't stop the fear.
It didn't remove the feeling that there was something lurking just out of sight.

Halloween wasn't a large event at UA. Nothing compared to the Cultural Festival, but not being able to head home due to the threat of villains wasn't going to stop Class 1-A from celebrating properly. If celebrating meant walking around a darkened street in the dead of night, breath fogging and hair standing on end.

Kirishima didn't even flinch, just smiled as if everything was right with the world and he hadn't been missing for the past few months.
“Don't look so shocked.” There was a small laugh to his friends voice. “I know meeting an Android for the first time can be unnerving. I'm as human as you are, so think of me as such, even if I'm technically not alive.”

When Kirishima's documents start to get accessed by an unknown assailant, hospital records, birth certificate, missing picture files from a home computer, even school grades, the Hero Public Safety Commission notice promptly. If there is one thing they are good at, it's intense and effective training for heroes.
So when it becomes clear that there may be a kidnapping- a Quirk Trafficking attempt on a member of Class 1-A, something that potentially cannot be prevented, then the next step is to twist it into an advantage.
A way to gain information, with a person on the inside. Even if they're just a teenager.
Though going undercover requires training, and some very convincing acting. Thankfully, Kirishima Eijirou seems to be a near enough a natural.
