as i peaked beneath the trenches, a glimpse of spite and sadism peaked

the clutches of a hand so strong it could pierce through the head

In an era before the 20th century, Masaru originated from a village in Japan. One day, it was found that he and his childhood friends, Yukio and Taiga, possessed powerful Cosmos. His cousins, Shintarō and Mika also possessed powerful Cosmos. They were all sent to Sanctuary on the same day. He was chosen to become the next Cancer Saint and trained with his master in Kazakhstan, so he adopted the hairstyle that his master and the people of the steppes wear.

~Modern Setting~

Masaru originated from Tokyo, Japan. One day, he and his cousins, Shintarō and Mika, were found to possess powerful Cosmos and they were sent to Sanctuary on the same day. He was chosen to become the next Cancer Saint. His master was a survivor of a previous Holy War who still followed the old traditions of the people of the steppes and trained Masaru in Kazakhstan, so he adopted the hairstyle that his master and the people of the steppes wear. He is now the Cancer Saint and one of the twelve Gold Saints.

Abilities:

Agility: Like his spirit animal, the crab, he is extremely agile due to his training which allows him to run quickly, make a speedy exit, or quickly evade his enemies and their attacks.  

Cosmo: Cosmo is a sense beyond the other senses, which he refined through training. By elevating this sense, one can even destroy the atoms that make up the universe. He is able to achieve superhuman powers and perform superhuman feats when heburns her Cosmo.

Physical Strength and Endurance: As a Gold Saint who has undergone harsh training, he has a lot of strength and can endure pain to an extent.

Praesepe Underworld Waves: As the Cancer Saint,he can separate his opponent’s soul from their body and send it to the Underworld.

Praesepe Demonic Blue Flames: As the Cancer Saint, he can summon the Ignis Fatuus, blue flames that burn using the souls of others as fuel and uses it to soul of his opponent. Whether they have a body or not, are immortal or not, no one can escape the power of the soul-devouring fire.

Praesepe Soul Burial Waves: This technique utilizes nearby souls and causes them to explode. The magnitude of the explosion is equal to the strength of the spirits themselves.

Acubens: Cancer Masaru imitates a crab’s pincers by using both of his legs to cut his opponent in half.

Nona is forgiving of others who wrong her to a point. If she can sense that they are truly repentant for their misdoings and if they were someone she considered a friend, she will generally let go of whatever anger she held toward them. This is why she spares Tristian when she finds out about his betrayal, but not Lander. She refuses to allow Jamandi to keep Lander's body and resurrect him, because she doesn't feel he would repent and doesn't trust him to come back.

She also chooses to spare Argadd and Karga because she doesn't believe the sins of the father should be the sins of the son.

However, she is someone who does feel a lot of regret about her own decisions. There are times where she sends her advisors to deal with an issue in the kingdom and when they fail, she spends a lot of time feeling guilt for it and wondering if she should have sent someone else or if she should have just handled it herself. It doesn't stop her from being decisive in the moment, but it can keep her up at night.

03.  the empress  :  does your muse have parental / nurturing figures in their life ? how do they impact them ?

A huge part of why Nona hasn't strayed far from Brevoy and the Stolen Lands are her parents, two halflings who live outside of Winterbreak in another village on Acuben Isle. She had a very loving childhood full of time spent in nature as both of her parents are fisherpeople. Many of her fondest memories take place in her parents' boat or hearing the stories of the monsters that call the Lake of Mists and Veils home at the local tavern (or from pirates who she came across).

She also gets her last name, Currminder, from her family's history of slavery in Isger. The family has always worked with animals, whether that be as slaves minding hunting dogs or as fishermen enjoying their freedom in Brevoy.

Taking this into consideration, it is no surprise that Nona becomes a druid.

Her parents, at the time of Kingmaker, are both still alive. They still live outside of Winterbreak and perhaps, if Nona gets the time, she will visit them :D

19.  the sun  :  in general, how optimistic is your muse ? does your muse appreciate the small things in life ?

Nona is generally very optimistic. She feels that everything happens for a reason and doesn't fear the future (she sees no reason for her future to contain anything truly horrible. At the very least, she can see herself losing her barony and then having a mediocre life fishing back home). She trusts her intuition to guide her and it has generally not failed her.
