Annon-Guy: What are you thoughts on the PlayStation 2 game, BLACK CAT The Mechanical Angel?
Do you think it's tied to the Manga or the Anime? Because I read that it's telling a different story from those two mediums.
I think it inclines to the manga, mostly because of Train’s relationship with Sephiria and Berzé. They are quite understanding towards each other in the game, with both Sephiria and Berzé willingly offer helps (Train’s route), unlike in the anime, where even after Train’s and Sephiria’s conflict had settled, the relationship still seemed very strained and distant. They agreed to join hands at the end was because it was the only choice left rather than actually wanting to cooperate (Sephiria does wish this in the manga in order to capture Creed).
The game is quite simple imo, but it does have interesting plot. The interacting between characters is fanservicing, considering the hints, the number of characters beside the main gang appearing, the amount of conversations…etc. I absolutely love the 2D art, however. It sticks well to the manga art style. The 3D art is adequate for that time, I suppose. After all, for a small project like this to be done by Capcom is great enough. I have only watched Train’s route, so I’d say his attacks are rather basic, no different from the source material. The final boss kinda bland, or maybe because I don’t understand Japanese so I don’t get the character. As far as I know, he’s a mad scientist type of villain, who had some kind of weird obsession with Sephiria and thought he deserved to be the ruler of the world more than the Elders.

I don’t know if there is still any fan in this fandom, but there is and you are reading this fanfic, please believe that I’m beyond thankful for your time and appreciation.
Even in its golden days, Black Cat (anime&manga) wasn’t not a very active fandom, maybe because the internet had not been as accessible as it is nowadays. When I found Black Cat, almost everyone has moven on with another fandom. So if your interest still remains, don’t be reluctant to show your love. On AO3 and FFN, there are also other writers like me trying to hold on with this 20 years old manga&anime. Your interactions will be an enormous encouragement.
Name : Sleepless
Genre : hurt/comfort, family, friendship.
Characters : Sephiria Arks, Anubis, Berze Rochefort.
Summary:
“Fear is a reaction. Courage is a decision.”
- Winston Churchill -
It’s normal to have nightmares, especially for those who had gone through such a past like Anubis. However, he still could not overcome his own ego to stand the fact that fears had gotten the better of him. Fortunately, his captain, though not always “lovely” to be around, stayed the most understanding and caring person to be in his heart.

Jenos *whisper*: Sephy, why are you staring at Berzé like that?
Sephiria *still staring*: I’m wondering what conditioner he uses.

I don’t know why, but I always think that Jenos would like drawing, being an artist, playing with colors and etc. Art is freedom and it is not. Art is simple and it is not. But art is emotionally driven. Art is how one can make their brain and skills work for their heart, to let the heart lead, and all of that is something I suppose very Jenos-like.
I also like to think that Berzé would be the one who understands that. He is greatly interested in art and music and is good at those fields, unlike his seemingly boring and stoic character. He would support Jenos if he had the chance.
Sephiria would prefer literature. Music is fine with her, but it’s art she doesn’t get; she just pretends that she does. She would be more fascinated with David’s stories about the bands he used to play in and sometimes listen to him playing, even when that kind of music is not her usual fav. David is a pretty good musician, though. He could surprise her every time.
Emilio would know some of the books Sephiria read and they would talk about them. Both are multitask type of people as they can both chat and finish paperwork without delay at the same time. She does realize his taste is a bit weird but still takes his suggestions.

Berzé: Do you think we can make it back?
Sephiria: No...I don’t.
*A moment of silence as they watch enemy’s army flooding into the place.*
Berzé: ....Together?
Sephiria: Always.
