okay here i go nerding again: the 3 main pages i assume youre talking about are pretty much as you said. the first is all about story; the main storyline, the open world story, the chronicles that are like backstory for some of the characters etc. (except the material stages to the right, one coop and one single player, they are basically your dailies) the second is pretty much all the abyss gamemodes. in fact, the first one on there was at some point called abyss, now its superstring dimension (for me at least, it might change as you level up but i wouldnt know). that is pretty much the main way you get crystals, and was one of the only two ways to get them for free until recently. you go in, you fight everything as fast as possible for higher points, and the higher you are on the leaderboard, the higher you get in the global rankings and the more crystals you will get. you get a set amount after completing each stage, and a larger one depending on how well you did compared to the others on your leaderboard. it resets i think 2-3 times a week, so way more than genshins abyss, but yeah its pretty much the same reason it exists. the other one is memorial arena, which, as the name might suggest, is an arena. its much closer to the actual abyss spiral as far as gameplay goes, and is also played for crystals, and some other very nice materials that can be exchanged for character fragments in the store, even S rank ones, so be sure to check that out! now, a third one has recently been added, called elysian realm. its still pretty new, and by far the most fun. its also for crystals, also very challenging, but its the only singleplayer one, and gives a fucktonne of first time rewards. it resets every week, and gives a key for a new character to unlock every week as well. it is very hard to do though, i can only do it fully with only one character i have to be fair, but you can set the difficulty after youve done all the set stages and get more money the harder youve done it. kinda like those genshin events that send a wave of enemies at you, and you have to set the difficulty and different disadvantages for yourself for higher scores! except it gives you buffs after each wave. its kind of complicated to explain, you need to like know your characters and know what you need most for them in terms of buffs, but its still by far the most fun one out of the 3, and theres a lot of rly cool characters coming out bc of it, like the very next one called pardofelis! (and some other even cooler ones that are redacted and we dont know of them yet bc were good and noone ever leaks anything... actually, honkais way of betas are a lot less secure than genshins, as the china servers get everything exactly one update earlier, so its pretty easy to figure out whats gonna be next if you just look it up lol, it also helps with planning ahead, esp for lil old f2p me) andd the last one that can be confusing is universal mirage. that one isnt for crystals, or competitive at all, its for crafting materials. crafting is way fucking harder in this game bc things need so many more resources, and you cant get many of them at all, but while its a pain to do it, if there is something in there you want, and you dont wanna pull for it in gacha, you can technically just get the materials to make them in there. its real fucking slow though. aaand the rest are just one time challenges! char trials and deep archives are there to give a one time gift, and then theyre just kinda take up space, so not much else to talk about. and the event page, wouldnt you know it, contains the event content. OKAY, so, about gacha: honkai's gacha system works way better in my opinion. theres a lot more banners to choose from first of all so lets start with that. dorm supplies are this games starter banners, one for characters and one for gear. that said, they are just as useless. there for the exact same purpose of free shit as they are in genshin. after that there are the expansion supplies. that is the featured chara banner. after that is the focused supplies, each for a
different set of featured gear. event supply is too long to explain, its event supply, it changes too much for me to explain all the kinds of em just in here. and theres also ELF supply, for the ELFs, that exist in this game also (can you tell ive never got a single one of them) the rates work like this: way better than genshin, in my humble little opinion. so, first of all, characters. there is a 100% chance you will get the featured character on your pity. none of this 50/50 bullshit. in fact, the game outright tells you how much you have till then. the guarantee for a featured char always starts at 100, but i think thats still better than a chance of getting someone you didnt even want at 90, and resetting your pity completely. so, if you pull for someone, eventually you will get them, no bullshit, no counting down your pulls by going back and checking because it outright counts for you in the corner. you also cannot get gear from the char banners, (except for dorm supply) which should sound obvious, but alas... the counter also carries across banners just like in genshin, so dont have to worry about that. one A rank every ten pulls as well. okay, equipment banners are a little more complicated, as there are more of them and work slightly different. so, when a new valk comes out, her gear comes out with her obviously. that is on its very own banner though. the focused banner will still exist, and will still have the same gear, but it will work differently. the actual featured weapon and stigmata supply will have a 30 guarantee for the weapon or one of the featured stigmata. it will work the exact same as any other banner with its one good thing every ten pulls thing, same chances, same everything, but it will have a guarantee counter. as i said, the normal focused supply will still be there, and one of them will still be the new gear, but that one will not have a guarantee meter. which means, well, you will have no guarantee to get everything. the larger rates will still be for the set you want, but there is absolutely no guarantee for anything there. all random. so, why does it exist then? other than the fact that after the main gear supply ends, it will be the only place it will be available in ever again, im not sure. im not big brain enough to math it out. maybe if you had like 3 more pulls till the 10 on that one from before, you can still try and get something at the guaranteed 4 star and hope its the one you wanted. thats what i do anyway. SO, IN A NUTSHELL: pity is at 100 instead of 90, but there is no 50/50 for characters, guaranteed something nice every 10 pulls anyway, gear supplies are a bit more sus, but there is still a good chance of getting what you want if its featured with the 10 pull guarantees, and the pity on gear banners only exists sometimes (usually when a new char comes out, or bc of an event), usually 30 pulls for a stigmata set piece or the weapon (or 60 for the weapon actually, that happens too sometimes). also, good to know for the future, there is this thing called EXPA select and FOCA select. that is i think in the event one, and that is the best one in if you want a specific char or set, as you can select who or what you wanna get. chances are the same, but the guarantees only carry over for characters, not the gear. still, very useful if youve been wanting someone for forever and they just never showed up, but they change very fast, like every 3 days or sth, so its best for whales i guess, esp for gear. THATS ABOUT IT! if i left sth out, or explained sth poorly, do ask anything, i know so many dumb things about this waifu game
thank you for this explanation, i got everything about the abyss and stuff ^^
now my question is about the gacha, i've been doing random wishes (sorry for my genshin vocabulary) and i've been getting random valkyries. So are the limited valkyries...not limited ? like after their banner they're in the gacha forever ?
second question not related to gacha or abyss, is it worth it to farm fragments to upgrade a valkyrie you already have ? i think it's the equivalent to constellations in genshin but i don't know if it's really that good D:

I had been meaning to bring in Loco Motion into the bayverse universe of ocs. the first design was basically just bayversed version of her TFP design. Then I thought “I could go more with this” and went ahead with some redesigning. The top design was the original design and the bottom design is the newer design. I had asked some peeps what they thought about the design and they all liked it so here it is. her newer deisgn was inspired by Carmen Sandiego. Crosshairs is sort of referenced so i could understand how her coat would work. The sketch dumps were basically just experimenting with the designs and then ta-da. Crosshairs is there because I kind of started to ship the two of them. Hope no one minds 👉👈
I like the Newer design. I feel it creates this interesting new feeling and a lot of people liked the hat. I think for now I’ll keep the hat as a Bayverse thing for her design. I also think the non-neon like pink fits well for her.
Bio for her below the cut
Name: Loco Motion (also goes by “Dot”, like how in Bayverse Mirage goes by “Dino”)
Alt. Mode: pink Lamborghini
gender: femme
preferred pronouns: She/her
Faction: Autobots
Family: Edge climber (Brother), Havoc (Brother), DeepDive (brother), Magma Drive (sister), Pixie (Niece by Conjunx)
Conjunx Endura: Crosshairs
Occupation: Sharpshooter (former), Mental ward Psychologist (former), Psychologist and anthropologist (current)
Orientation: Bi
Languages Known: Spanish, English, Cybertronian
Hobbies and interests:
psychology, anthropology, Gardening, gymnastics, journaling, acoustic guitar, Human behavior, languages, causal gaming, botany.
weapons and gadgets:
Flares, Rifle, Scythe, Smoke bombs, Grappling hooks, Butterfly knife
personality:
Loco Motion is mostly warm and friendly. She makes herself as approachable as possible and is always willing to help those in need. She’s caring and thorough, not missing detail when it comes to helping someone. She tries to see the best in everyone, and loves receiving interesting information. She’s very analytical but also emotional. She’s found the right balance so she can best approach those who’ve come to see her. However, she’s slightly stubborn. she always refuses to admit defeat if there’s something she can’t do and has a dangerous fear of failing. She’s hoping that no one knows about her getting fired in the past for standing up for patients. She also has a couple bad habits, such as buying a bunch of cute notebooks for her office even if she has 5 shelves full of empty ones to use. She also tends to be super secretive when it comes to what she’s doing to help her patients. While this is patient confidentiality, she unknowingly makes herself look suspicious and secretive. It’s from her fear of failure that sometimes she will not admit her mistakes. Despite all this, she’s adaptive with her equipment and can change to new gadgets or weapons easily. She’s also very clever, finding small but significant ways to make the job easier.
Backstory:
Loco Motion, also with an alias of “Dot”, is an Autobot psychologist, anthropologist and former Sharpshooter. Her extensive knowledge in how others behave and being able to pick up on patterns to predict on target’s behavior earned her a spot in the top ranks of sharpshooter. She use to be in the same squadron with Crosshairs back on cybertron. her PhDs in Psychology and Anthropology made her incredible at predicting the behavior of her targets. She taught these skills to her squadron members, eventually leading to a friendship with Crosshairs. But she had suddenly quit the sharpshooter gig. turns out she was privately hired and the target was one of her own brothers, Deepdive. with her brother a target, she did not go through with the job and unceremoniously quit, waking up to the reality of the danger her family was in
With this, she decided to go to help those who were traumatized from the war. she gave up her rifle and went to an institution. that did not go well for her either. she hated seeing the patients mistreated and was fired when she started standing up for them. She joined a smaller team of Autobots and went under the alias of “Dot” as to hide her failure of trying to help those patients.
Dot got separated from her team when the tracking system malfunctioned. To save herself from crashing into chunks of a recently destroyed planet, she piloted her ship towards the closest autobot settlement. That’s when she received autobot signals and traveled to earth. She, however, ended up not in the USA, but Mexico. Confused, and unable to be understood, Dot was completely alone.
After calming down from her initial shock of being on another planet, Dot learned to adapt to her new surroundings. she eventually learned Spanish and some English, just enough to tell some secret NEST agents of what she was after. NEST, now notified of her presence, escorted her to the USA for safety, where she joined the rest of the NEST autobots. this is during the time between Revenge of the fallen and Dark of the moon where she is placed on the NEST team.
She was now faced with having to adapt again as the NEST situation was more faced paced and action packed than she had anticipated. She slowly readapted, going by both her Alias as a nickname and her own name, feeling more confident that no one could dig up her mistakes. She mostly went on international missions, and had a psychologists office in the base to help her new team. She was on one such international Mission when the events of Dark of the moon play out and Sentinel betrays the autobots. She was in Mexico at the time when NEST disbanded and went into hiding.
By a complete and utter random chance she ran into Crosshairs again, who, despite the both of them changing their frames and alt. modes, recognized her from his old squadron. Loco Motion asked him to stick with her as basically she was just left without a team for the 4th time in her life. Crosshairs eventually agreed and the two started to go into hiding together. Time went on searching for sanctuary and the two rekindled their friendship, even forming a romantic relationship between them.
As soon as they received the message from Optimus that he was alive the couple set off to meet with the other remaining autobots, where she joins in storming the KSI base, rescuing Optimus from lockdown’s ship, and battling the deceptcion infected KSI engineered robots in Age of Extinction. She would then go into hiding in the junkyard with her Conjux Endura, Crosshairs, and the autobots and join the final fight in England in The Last Knight.
misc. facts :
-  Ambidextrous
- “Birthday” is September 6th
- Very good at rhythmic gymnastics with apparatus (hoop, ball, ribbon, etc.)
- Gets airsick easily. It was not easy piloting her way to earth

What about the rest of the Forgotten Sonic Characters?
With Sonic Mania Plus comes two returning characters, Mighty and Ray! After 20+ years they’ve finally made their comeback ever since their debut in the segasonic arcade game! Even the Hooligans have made a semi-cameo appearance in the form of the Heavy Magician’s illusions in Mirage Saloon Zone! Since Mania is a celebration of every Sonic game ever it was nice to experience these old characters revitalized back to life!
But with the revitalization of old characters, what does that say about the state of the rest of the forgotten sonic characters? Will they ever see the light of day again? Do some have a more chance of appearing again? Or are they doomed to obscurity? Let’s review the list, starting from when they were introduced and their last major appearance! Starting with:
Sonic CD’s Rosy the Rascal (1993) Latest appearance Sonic R (1996)
I’m sure all of us were disappointed when she wasn’t playable in mania plus. But! With her appearance in the christmas special, she may become playable in the next sonic mania game! Or at least a cameo other than an Amy Doll.
Sonic Triple Trouble’s Fang the Sniper (1994), last appearance Sonic Fighters (1996) and you know what? Let’s throw in Bean and Bark (1996), last appearance Fighters Megamix (1996)
“Hey! What’s the big idea! We just saw them in Mania! You even said they were in Mania!” Well that’s where you’re kinda wrong kid. I said semi-cameo. The hooligans did not actually appear in Sonic Mania, at least not in their actual forms. Right, remember those three were just illusions by the magician. While those were references sure, those aren’t actually the hooligans. While their appearance in a next game like mania is less likely (given they were mirage saloon’s gimmick, and they’ve already had their representation) I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t at least one reference to them in the near future.
Next up! Knuckle’s Chaotix’s Chaotix! (1995) with Espio’s last appearance in the Sonic Fighters (1996)
“Uh hey, what gives? The Chaotix crew have already appeared in modern games, they were just in Forces and Vector is in TSR! what are you on?” Well what I’m on, you see reader, is on Iizuka’s bullshit! You see since their first modern appearance on Sonic Heroes, Takashi Iizuka has stated on record that the modern chaotix crew is not the same characters as the ones in the 32x game. You see when development on the chaotix game was shifted from sonic team to another developer, the story hadn’t been written yet. Same with the characters characterization. That’s why you have a sophisticated 16 year old Charmy. Hot headed detective Espio. Pacifist nomad Mighty. God-fearing, music-loving Vector! While some of the character traits were carried over (like charmy being the glue that held the chaotix together, mighty is still a pacifist in mania, vector still has his headphones, while espio’s detective shtick got applied to the whole crew), they were basically new characters. Even though the chaotix game was viewed noncanon for years, with countless references to it in sonic mania, it seems that sega is much more willing to accept the chaotix as it was. It is very likely that this may get retconned (given how bullshit some of Iizuka’s statements on plotline are), they even might actually cameo in the next mania game if ever!
Tails Skypatrol’s Witchcarters! (1995)
Finally some actual forgotten characters! Bet you didn’t know they exist huh! Well you probably do if you’re reading this list, but i digress. Introducing the witchcarters, Carrotia the Rabbit, Fockewulf the Wolf, Bearenger the Bear and Witchcarter. These characters served as one-off antagonists and henchmen in this spinoff game, where they were left ignored for around 20 years until Archie Sonic’s Eggman’s Dozen arc where they were given redesigns to fit the modern era. They are the less iconic of the two groups of antagonists that Tails has had to fight. But they are very likely to appear in the next mania-like game.
Tails Adventure’s Battle Armada (1995)
Oof another Game Gear title but one that’s more memorable than skypatrol! Along with a metroid-style gameplay, we are introduced to the battle armada! Speedy, his father and Dr. Fukurov are a few of the notable casts introduced here! For around 20 years they were ignored until Archie Sonic (again). They are given a much bigger role compared to the witchcarters! The idea of Speedy as a rival to Tails like metal sonic is to sonic, is such an interesting concept to me! they have a greater chance of appearing in the next mania like game as compared to skypatrol!
Sonic the Fighter’s Honey the Cat! (1996)
Yeahhh, ok let’s be blunt. I love honey the cat. But she probably won’t appear in a game any time soon. Here’s why: She’s basically the mobian version of an already existing character (candy from fighting vipers). She’s a hacked character in the arcade version, removed from the gcn port and an easter egg in the latest port. She was only limited to cameos in the comic before finally debuting properly in the sonic the fighters arc in archie sonic. While Sega has definitely been more lenient with her, unless there’s another fighting game that will come out, honey won’t be appearing any time soon. (and if she does I really hope they use the rest of the fighting vipers cast too, Pane the Boar exists now! and it’s not like anyone’s using the IP! I’d like it if they just,,,, retooled fighting vipers and it’s characters for a sonic fighting game spinoff without sonic characters haha)
Sonic R’s Metal Knuckles and Tails Doll (1996)
Sonic R introduced the counterfeit counterparts to the other 2/3s of team hero. Metal Knuckles and Tails Doll. While I bet they were only created to fill out the roster, we can’t deny that their designs are cool. I don’t want to rule them out because they’re 3d characters since Bean and Bark made 2d appearances in mania, but it’s a mystery on what kind of role they’ll fulfill. Metal Sonic’s first appearance in CD was explicitly clear that he was your rival, someone to beat. These two’s appearances are kinda shoehorned as someone you have to race with but there’s no backstory. Unless there’s racing challenge in the next mania game or these characters are retooled to being a miniboss, they probably won’t appear in a major role in the next mania game, if they ever appear it’d probably be as a background cameo. (which is a shame!)
Sonic Adventure DX and Adventure 2 Battle’s Tikal and Chaos! (1999) latest appearance Tikal-Sonic Runners (2015) Chaos(illusion)-Forces (2017)
Finally we’re out of the classic era and into the adventure era! The adventure era is regarded by a lot as either a. a transitional era between classic to modern sonic, or as a part of the modern sonic era. either way this is where tikal and chaos’s first and playable appearances were made. Now this is a weird case since Chaos came from the Master Emerald and Tikal is a ghost. In their ending you can see them hanging with the chao. Ever since then they’ve been MIA. While I thought they went back into the emerald, it seems that it’s actually questionable what happened to their fate. Will we ever get to see them again? Well this is where things get pretty dicey here on out. These characters don’t have “Classic” immunity, meaning they dont have the possibility to appear in the next mania-like game since they aren’t classic. Unless we have another storyline regarding the echidna colony (unlikely due to penders) then we probably wont see tikal and chaos in a major way any time soon.
Sonic Shuffle’s Void and Lumina (2000)
With character designs looking more akin to NiGHTS into Dreams than a sonic characters, void and lumina are the more different looking characters. Opting for a more fairy look instead. Sonic Shuffle is a board game somewhat akin to mario party. These characters were one-off characters, and i guess that’s it. Unless sega makes another board game using the mainline sonic universe (not storybook sonic) then we won’t see these two again anytime soon.
Sonic Hero/Advance 3/Battle’s Vanilla and Chocola and Emerl/G-merl (2003-2004)
Woof, that’s a lot of characters. So let’s tackle them one by one shall we? Vanilla is Cream’s mother. Kidnapped ala princess peach style in the advance games, she is cream’s driving force to join sonic’s team into taking eggman down. Likewise, Chocola is Cheese’s brother. These two chao are pets of Cream. Chocola is Cream’s driving force to join team Amy into taking down eggman in sonic heroes. Emerl was a robot that died in Sonic Battle and Gemerl is the reconstructed gizoid from emerl’s remains, after the events of advance 3, gemerl lives with cream and vanilla, often portrayed in the comics as the bodyguard for the two. So how likely are they to appear? Well not anytime soon by the looks of it. They only appear if Cream has a heavy role in the story, and with each passing installment cream has been getting lesser roles. I like to think of Cream as the “next sonic”. She has the drive and the heart to become the succeeding hero. I’d love for her to get her own series of games where she is the hero. But unless she gets more roles or she gets her own spinoffs (not likely), these three wont appear anytime soon.
Sonic Riders (2006) latest appearance for storm-Sonic Free Riders (2010) for Jet and Wave-Olympics (2020)
Sonic Riders introduced three babylon rogues. Jet was introduced as Sonic’s rival when it came to races, a title loosely held by metal and shadow (metal was created to be sonic’s rival at everything and shadow was conceptualized as being an antithesis to sonic, jet is the first to be his rival in speed only). Given the nature of these games it’s actually a surprise as to why they didn’t appear in team sonic racing, or in their two previous racing games. Jet and Wave appeared in the olympics 2020 recently but storm has been mia lately. When the next racing game does come out and when they expand their roster we might see the babylon rogues debut in some sweet rides!
Sonic 06′s Elise
Unless it’s in a remake Elise has no chance of returning back due to the whole nature of 06 (and it’s storyline)
Sonic and the Secret Rings and the Black Knight’s Shahra, Merlinus, Caliburn
Not likely given that they are one-off characters in a storybook.
Sonic Rush Adventure’s Eggman Nega and Marine (2007)
I’d really love for Marine to appear again. Eggman Nega appeared in Rivals, he even appears in the olympic games, why can’t marine appear again? Sadly, unless we get a game that involves the sol dimension, these two are out of the question.
Sonic Chronicles’s entire cast (2008)
Haha. no. Most well-known as the first rpg-like game that involves the sonic characters. This game introduces Shade along with other characters. However due to the Penders lawsuit, these characters are now off limits, even to sega. this may also be the reason why we have not seen gemerl again.
Sonic Unleashed’s Lah and Chip (2008)
Chip is the Light Gaia and Lah was made for the special. We probably won’t see these characters again despite having the best writing so far.
Sonic Colors’s Yacker (2010)
Yacker didn’t fare well compared to the rest of his wisp friends. and honestly? I don’t feel too bad. while he may appear if sonic ever does need a flagship representation for the wisps, i doubt he’ll have another big role like in colors.
Sonic Lost World’s Zeti (2013)
Cause let’s face it, only Zavok and Zazz are in the limelight recently. The Zeti are a very polarizing addition to the sonic cast. they don’t have the same rep as the wisps, yet they’re designs are a bit too unique to just be left behind again. What sega’s doing now though is a bit disappointing. Half ass shoe horns into plots. Well at least for TSR, which is a racing game spin-off. We also saw this in forces (along side chaos and shadow of all people). I just hope this isn’t a trend that persists. Either make a proper plot or don’t include the character at all sega. as to when we’ll see them again, that is up to sega. this is a bit of a cloudy are cause sega doesn’t seem to be afraid to use them, but for some reason they arent too confident either.
Sonic Boom’s Sticks.(2014)
Unless There’s another boom game or Sticks is redesigned to modern standards as opposed to boom standards, we’ll probably not see her again. which is disappointing.
Sonic Forces’s Infinite and OC character (2017)
They aren’t really forgotten since it’s only been 2 years. But infinite’s basically been forgotten already! He has no appearances in other games outside forces. Not even in team sonic racing, you’d think he’d be a shoe in, but he isnt! You’d think the make your own avatar would be something that’d be implemented from everygame onward (ngl it was the only good thing about forces) but it’s also isnt seen in tsr. which seems like wasted opportunities!
