KYLE CROUSE: And we’ve got a question from Jill! “Do NOT worry, this is definitely not a fan idea that's usable!” IAN FLYNN: That makes me nervous. KYLE: I mean, I think they’re right, but… [continuing to read] “I have a headcanon that in the future, swear words kinda lost their meaning and filtered into normal speech and are no longer offensive, so in present time Silver is going round swearing like crazy using the foulest words in his conversations but obviously has no idea what he’s doing. How do his friends react? Who’s going to tell him? Who finds it funny? More importantly, how does Vanilla react to him dropping the F-bomb in front of Cream?”

IAN: [chuckling] KYLE: [laughs] Yeah, I don’t think you can use that one, Ian. IAN: True enough, true enough. I think most folks would be a trifle taken aback, because they are… generally nice and genteel people. I mean, even Eggman would be slightly flustered— he- he thinks himself a gentleman. KYLE: Weird. IAN: [as Eggman] “What language do you use, young man?!” Sonic would think it’s funny. KYLE: [laughs] IAN: Like, maybe the first F-bomb would kinda catch him off guard, and then he realizes that Silver doesn’t mean it that way, it’s just part of his personal lexicon. And he’s just like, [snort] “Alright buddy! You do you, alright!” KYLE: [laughing] He’s not gonna stop him! IAN: [as other character] “Are you gonna tell him to stop?” [as Sonic] “Noooo.” KYLE: [laughs] IAN: Uh, Knuckles doesn’t flinch ‘cause, y’know, he’s lived alone his whole life, he doesn’t know those words. KYLE: Yeah, yeah, yeah. IAN: If anything, he’s learning a new dialect! KYLE: [giggles] Uh, how does Knuckles know any words? IAN: That is a question we’re not gonna answer. Anyway— KYLE: Oh, okay. IAN: And Vanilla… mmm, she’s just gonna punt Silver back to the future. KYLE: [cackles] IAN: When that shoe reaches 88 miles per hour, you’re gonna see some serious shit! KYLE: [laughs]

This year I did something I never thought I would do, I created a comic for the IDW Sonic Fan Annual project on Twitter, titled Dishonor!!! Written by @mspnova and myself, with art made by me too!!

Round 2 of the Fae! I bunched the Chaotix and the Rabbits together, they seemed to fit!

More rambles under the cut:

So the Chaotix still work together, they have a range of skills between them (Vector can swim/dive, Charmy can fly and Espio is great at stealth and climbing) so they often take on odd-jobs for other fae. They're not high members of a court and they don't have much on their own, Vector and Charmy specifically don't care for fancy dress although Espio likes to have nicer clothes for festivities. Most Fae trade goods in exchange for things but these three pay in favours instead, they make a rag-tag group but they always get the job done. They like to play music together, Charmy's flowers make excellent instruments!

Vanilla and Cream are always together, they're from the same family of flora and share a fauna (in-appearance) so they're particularly close. Vanilla is exceptionally skilled in both baking and tailoring, she sews with silk and her flowers give her vanilla bean. She's a highly respected member of the Spring Court due to her luxury items for trade. Cream is Vanilla's helper, she's learning how to sew and bake and helps with things like harvesting and deliveries, she has a similar status in the court as a result - they're both just well liked by most fae.

Despite the difference in status, the Chaotix and the Orchids are very friendly with each other, Vanilla often asks for favours and gives them plenty of goods as payment (Espio seems to be the only one who realises the favours aren't really necessary). Vector's infatuated but he assumes Vanilla wouldn't look his way, but he tries to do his best to impress her doing busywork. Charmy and Cream are close friends - they like to fly around and play in the wind with the bees.
