We are in the Ferrari Racing Department at Maranello in March 1952. This is a 375 Indy, one of four cars which were a development of the 375F1 Grand Prix car which had been successful in 1951. With the withdrawal of Alfa Romeo, there was no future for the 375F1 because the 1952 Championship would be limited to Formula 2 cars with a maximum engine size of two liters.
