COMPARISON OF MOUTHPARTS OF TWO FAMILIES OF AMPHIPODS OF PULICAT LAKE, TALITRIDAE AND GAMMARIDAE |  UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY
Amphipods are tiny crustaceans with a wide range of behaviours and habitats in various ecosystems. These malacostracans are found in freshwater, brackish water, and a few terrestrial environments, and they play an important part in the lake's energetics. The mouthparts help amphipods serve as detrivores, an important trophic level in the aquatic ecology, as well as the adaptation of mouthparts to varied ecosystems. Amphipods from two families, Talitridae, an intertidal group, and Gammaridae, an aquatic group, had their mouthparts examined to see if they varied to fit their surroundings. The palps, size of the molars, and setae of the mouthparts were discovered to differ. The genera have undergone modest changes to adapt to the sort of food they consume. The absence of a mandibular palp in Talitridae and a highly setose maxilla in Gammaridae are notable differences. Una medida del balance de energía en los animales es la relación existente entre el alimento y el metabolismo, motivo por el cual los animales son empelados como bioindicadores, siendo el caso de Gammarus Amphipoda que es usado para medir las presiones en los ecosistemas de agua dulce y marinos por la incidencia de ciertos contaminantes (Maltby, L., Naylor, C., & Calow,1990). Se trata de un crustáceo de agua dulce del estrato béntico, en condiciones que comúnmente se asociado a altos niveles de contaminación), como por ejemplo altas concentraciones de zinc, Oxígeno disuelto y amoniaco, por lo que el estudio de estos organismos es de gran ayuda para comprender como es el comportamiento de estas sustancias en el ecosistema. Con respecto a su presencia indica ambientes contaminados con bajas concentraciones de oxígeno disuelto.

Gammarus is an amphipod crustacean genus in the family Gammaridae. It contains more than 200 described species, making it one of the most speciose genera of crustaceans.[2] Different species have different optimal conditions, particularly in terms of salinity, and different tolerances; Gammarus pulex, for instance, is a purely freshwater species, while Gammarus locusta is estuarine, only living where the salinity is greater than 25‰.[3] Species of Gammarus are the typical "scuds" of North America and range widely throughout the Holarctic. A considerable number are also found southwards into the Northern Hemisphere tropics, particularly in Southeast Asia.[4] The following species are included:[5] Gammarus abscisus G. On today’s episode of Amphipods are Weird and Taxonomy is Weirder:
Apparently Infraorder Gammarida is no longer nested under Suborder Gammaridea and I am dYING. THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER. Like, Gammaridea is still a suborder, and Gammarida is still an infraorder... but Gammarida is no longer an infraorder WITHIN Gammaridea. It's now an infraorder of SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY (Senticaudata).
Aren’t systematics WILD?

Sayang, aku sebelumnya tak mengenalmu lantaran waktu tak mungkin mengantarku kembali ke masalalu, semua yang kosong atau yang pernah terukir dulu sekalipun tak pernah tertuliskan namamu. Hanya ada aku dan bayang banyang lirih dari bahagia dan berjuta kesedihan yang pupus pada masanya. 
Namun tahukah kamu sayang, bahwa waktu yang berputar liar lah, yang telah menghantarkanku padamu. Pada angin lembut yang perlahan membuai mempersatukan kita, tersipu malu berhias pipi merah muda merona saat ku jumpa kau pertama. tepat disudut kota, dengan lambaian tangan dari baju biru muda yang tak kan pernah kulupa, sama sekali tak kusangka akan mampu ku genggam. Senyumu dan senyumku yang terukir manis. ah, indah kubayangkan
Sayang, tahukah kamu, aku tak pernah mengira sedikitpun bahwa waktu ini akan benar menghampiriku, waktu disaat aku jatuh hati padamu, waktu ketika rasanya tak ada hal yang lebih indah selain keinginanku bersamamu, waktu yang buatku ingin hentikan waktu saat aku menatap dalam matamu, malam gelap tak lagi dingin saat tawamu menghangatkan tubuhku. Tahukah kamu? aku seperti jatuh hati, bahkan sebelum aku mengerti maksud hatiku.
Kau datang tepat saat ku butuh tangan untuk menyeka air mataku, kau benar datang saat aku butuh bahu untuk sandaranku. Segala kenangan pahit yang aku miliki terbang bak buih yang tak lagi terasa. Hilang. Hanya indah dan bahagia yang ku terka saat aku menatap mu.
Kuputar semua dan bertanya, adakah suatu kebetulan terjadi? pertemuanku denganmu? ataukah ini hanya singgahan cerita dibalik cerita? Sayang, akal ku tak mampu menerawang sejauh itu. Aku percaya dalam ketentuan Nya ada hal-hal yang tak perlu ditanya ‘mengapa’ hanya perlu kau yakini bahwa Tuhan tak pernah mengizinkan sesuatu terjadi tanpa memiliki arti di dalamnya. Bahwa setiap bingkisan memiliki isi yang kelak akan kita miliki seutuhnya. Juga termasuk rencana Nya yang mengizinkan kita berjumpa di saat yang tepat
Bukankah kau berpikir sama? Entahlah, dengan segala teka teki yang tak mampu ku ungkap seluruhnya.
Yang aku yakini tak ada satu tetes pun air yang tak melepaskan dahaga, tak pernah ada satu bias cahaya yang tak terangi semesta. Ya, seperti aku percaya bahwa hadirmu tak luput dari segala rencana. Satu hal yang kuminta agar Tuhan tak kan pernah lagi memenggal bait ku. 
Karena aku ingin nama mu yang menjadi penutup cerita panjangku.
