Rewatching the newer x-men movies is hilarious when you put into perspective just how hard they felt the need to back paddle after First Class. Cuba divorce hit so hard they literally gave Erik a kid and a wife they killed off in 10 minutes just to try and convince us these idiots weren't gay and still pinning after each other.

They brought back Moira who did absolutely NOTHING the entire movie just so Charles would have a potential female love interest which completely fell through.

But the cherry on top, in my opinion, is Raven and Peter trying to talk Erik into joining their side once more and almost failing if not for the fact he remembered all the time him and Charles spent together in "First Class". But yeah no, you're right. Not gay whatsoever.
