So Bingqiu AU based on a C novel I started reading that sadly was not finished being translated, which makes me sad SY (who is still a transmigrator, no system) is a disciple at Cang Qiong Mountain Sect when he discovers an injured, unconcious, toddler!LBH and brings him back to the sect to take care of him. SY has no idea why he isn’t being taken care of by the Washerwoman at this point in his life, so it’s a bit concerning. He begs and pleads to be allowed to take care of him, both to his Sect Leader and his Peak Lord. Eventually they consent, but he is 100% responsible for him. He has to make sure he’s cared for while also not slacking on his duties and keeping up with his studies. It’s harder than anything he’s ever done, but he manages.

Eventually it is uncovered that LBH has anterograde amnesia (he can’t form new memories). The Qian Cao Peak Lord gives him medicine so he can learn things subconsciously (he won’t be able to consciously recall it, but, for example, if he learns new cultivation techniques, and he’s in a situation the calls for it, he can do it, but he has no idea he knows it), but can’t otherwise cure the damage.

LBH, for his part, wakes up every day wrapped in the arms of a beautiful boy/man who introduces himself as Shixiong (even though he does all of LBH’s teaching...and he probably starts calling him Shizun at some point) who helps reintroduce him to everything (it was annoying at first but eventually it became routine), trains him, and keeps him safe. (SY has no idea how LBH’s protagonist halo ALLOWED this injury to happen, but LBH is an innocent white lotus for now, and SY is working at trying to find a way to fix his problem). And as his body starts to mature, the subconscious place all his memories are held develops a new feeling: he falls in love with him. This love is renewed and compounded every day) LBH’s protagonist SKILLS still come out in everything. He can still master anything, just most of the time he doesn’t know he can.

LBH one day starts keeping a journal of all the things that happen in a day, and when he encounters Meng Mo he’s actually able to access his own subconscious memories in his dreams, though not while awake. (If this all seems convoluted... i’m actively trying to keep it as close to canon as possible)

The basic idea that I had was that Airplane, during a time when he was really tired of PIDW and wished he could write something else, imagined a “sequel” of sorts where somehow LBH’s universe would reset. And certain villains (the main one being the Old Palace Master) retained their memories of their deaths and decide to take revenge. In the main story, OPM tracked down Su Xiyan’s mongrel son and tried to kill him, just barely failing.

If SY isn’t in the body of SJ then maybe the people who have their memories of the original timeline wonder who he is and why no one remembers him? (Especially if SJ is ONE of those villains! Could be really interesting)
