Personally I think it would have been way funnier (and symphatetic) if the Titan had tried to help Philip like he did with Luz, at least at the beginning. Handing over some pity glyphs, hoping Philip would learn to appreciate the isles. But then he got frustrated, because this man was impossible to work with! The Titan could have waved a neon sign reading "HELPFUL GLYPH !!!" and Philip would have ignored it.

Just imagine the irony of Emperor "I'm just a humble messenger for the Titan" Belos ignoring a literal burning bush
