This video is... honestly very strange, and I'm not surprised I wasn't able to find it, haha! It was posted to Twitter by a Japanese account that says it posts information about P5 collab events. The video looks like a clip from a stream, and the tweet (and visible Youtube header under the video) says it's from a Japan-Taiwan Vtuber, though the original video that this is a recording from is showing up as Unavailable for me on Youtube.

Which isn't to say I think it's fake, because I'm pretty sure almost everything in it is stuff we've seen before, it's just... strange! It looks like the first part is an animated version of the second Small Theater, and then the middle looks almost like part of a promo video for P5X, although I can't remember if Kii's baton pass animation is new? Seiji's isn't- I'm almost positive we saw it all the way back in beta 1. The third part looks like Motoha and the Shibuya mascot having a sort of trading card battle, except using the characters' gacha cards, and that's where the 5-star Kotomo mentioned in the previous ask appears.

Still not exactly sure what's up with that! She's very visibly still a 4-star in the promotional stuff on the official Iwplay World P5X site:

But it's an interesting find, to say the least. Thanks for sharing it! Still don't think it necessarily indicates she'll actually be a story teammate, but if the third beta proves me wrong, then we'll know going forward that a change in stars does means that!

Keeps me sane. I think it's something I'm good at and something I enjoy doing, so I think I should do it if I feel driven to do it. Balance is important of course. Also, I can write, with some stuff, scenarios or character studies and relationships that I'd like to see.

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with? Let me have a look. Not really, no. For me, anyway, fanfiction is easier than original fiction. I try to write well, but I'm more likely to possibly be happy with a scene with fewer drafts than I might in original fic. I want it to be, basically, not stressful, even when I'm writing dark stuff. As a matter of fact, fanfic can be an avoidance strategy for me, so I'm more likely to write it when I'm a little stressed, than it actually stressing me. I have deleted and re-uploaded some of my dark fics (and even non-dark), a few times because I felt I didn't have enough confidence to deal with any potential backlash, and I get insecure sometimes (that was probably in response to crickets. Haha).

There are probably a number of scenes in my fics that I worked hard

at and it's good if the seams aren't showing. I don't know that anything was a struggle. I find if you're really struggling with something it's good to go on to a later scene and come back to the scene giving you trouble later (if it's a multi-chap), or write an 'and-then' draft, where you just get a big pile of prosaic sketching, really, on your page. And that's hard, cos' it can be kinda tedious, but once you've got that, you can really dive in and have fun with character, scene, dialogue, etc. I'm not discounting anyone's writing struggles. I've been there. But probably fanfiction has struck me this way.

Like, there is no such thing as a filler chapter, dudes. If you're bored with the final result, probably your readers will be too, so sometimes you've got to knuckle down, isolate, pick apart, put back together, and proceed. And nine times out of ten, I end up loving those paragraphs/ sentences / chapters. I don't think I answered the question, but there you go!

Interesting question. I can only speak for myself. I joined tumblr after maybe 3 years of writing fanfic, and I wasn't on twitter or discord. I belonged to a fanfiction subreddit, but I think the sub-reddit served to make writers more nervous of social media than not.

I was pleasantly surprised. tumblr and twitter helped me to see how much of fandom occurs away from AO3 or FFN, for one (most of it). And some story links I've posted haven't done badly in notes (which, let's face it, for fanfiction is when it goes into the teens), but people have also left comments on my work saying they saw my post on twt or tumblr, and even it my post didn't get me any notes, etc., it did get me some readers who left really nice comments, which was excellent, so it served its purpose.

People must curate their own experiences. I've banked a lot of self-worth on whether I get kudos or comments, and I'll still have dips, but the thing is, that for most people (not all), getting some traction is a bit of a long slog. Like, it was probably 6 months to a year before I really connected with anyone over my fics, and lots of good stuff came well after that.

But, although I do think it's important that community members support one another if the community is to be sustainable, individuals in that community need to know what they can or can't do. And there are different personalities, so different horses for different courses. Even stuff like these ask games can sometimes do a lot. Plus, I think lots of folks in fandom have a very intense attention span of a fly. So I'd also advise not to get too attached. People come and go.

Also, I don't think it hurts to research (like, I didn't!) on the fan fiction platform before uploading. If a writer's fic is OCxOC take a look and see how the OC fics go in the fandom, and tether expectations to that. Even if someone as a reader reads outside of the box, once they become a writer, they might want to realise that if they're writing what they like to read, it's no less valuable, but it might not be as popular as the more common tropes etc.

And really, if , say, you're flooded with antis or negativity, etc., on tumblr, twitter, etc., use the block/mute button. Delete where you can, and interact with folks that you vibe with and cruise along. If the social anxiety is too high, just stick to posting fic and disengage.

art - wattpad. i was 12 and started making book covers for people haha. i got really into photo manipulation after that and took that as my focus in vocational school and then went and did about two semesters of it in college. sims - i was 11 and wanted the paranormal pack. my mom went out and bought it for me because i begged for it for days. i played with it daily and eventually collected all of the sims 3 packs except for the last one. it took me a long time to switch to sims 4 after release because i was stubborn. i bought it like four months late, opened it twice, hated that i didn't understand the controls, and refused to play it again until a few months later.

13.) What do you watch/listen/read/anything else while you create?

youtube mostly, in the background. a lot of flabaliki/simssupply and buzzfeed unsolved because i love them and their dumb faces so much.

why would i just give away information i may need in the future

There are a lot of tutorials out there about its functionality. Here are some I found that I found really useful when trying to improve the quality of my gifs:

^^^Recommending those because I don't think I'm a wizard at it, and these users are much better at explaining the process than whatever nonsense I might regurgitate through my keystrokes.

As for my gifs, I always use these features:

Sharpen or Smart Sharpen (These will make the gifs look “crisper”)

Curves (Idk how to to explain this one tbh, but it helped me with doing lighting and coloring with some of my gifs)

Some other adjustments I play around with and use are: Exposure, Color Balance, Selective Color, Levels. A lot of these features are highly customizable so I usually experiment until I get the result I want.

I personally prefer playing around with Curves and Levels for brightening purposes, before using Photoshop's Brighten/Contrast feature. But I don't think there's any wrong way to do it.

I also don't like deleting any of the individual frames within the runtime of the gif I'm trying to make. Sure, you'll have a smaller gif size suitable to Tumblr's gif size limit, but I'll sacrifice the gif's length for quality 😫

I don't have a "go-to" particular setting or presets I use with each gif; honestly there’s no singular comprehensive way to tackle a gif. For example, sometimes a Sharpness preset you always use won't work the way you wanted with one of your projects.

For some gifs, you may need to put more lighting, for others you may want more saturated colors. That’s why I don’t want to say “oh these are the ABSOLUTE settings you should use/apply”.

One last thing, which might be common sense for people but I'm not too tech-savvy LOL; I highly recommend saving custom Presets of effects you like, and creating “Actions”. I didn't know these were a thing until later but it made the gif-making process faster and more efficient.

Actions are like macros where you can record an action or set of actions and enact them with a single click of your mouse. For example, you can create an Action that when you execute it, it’ll apply a Sharpen, Brighten/Contrast and Curves effect, or whatever combination of filters you want to apply all at once to the project.

OMG the whole making a banner before completing a fic... I AM SO GUILTY OF THIS. there's a series i've been meaning to write since september, but never got to it. i have the banner made...that should count for something, right???

i need to take things slow. if anything i pressure myself to get things done. as a content creator i feel as though i always have to release something. but as of now i have soooooo many ideas, that i don't even know where to start! i'm so excited !!! one of them is an au i absolutely love and want to explore

THIS. i find writing the beginning of a fic the hardest as well. it sets the tone and pace of the entire piece, so getting it down to how you envision it to be is crucial. the first line is difficult because, depending on the story, it may be best to capture the audience's attention with either, dialogue, an action, a thought or any combination of those.

ughhhh the whole writing and deleting cycle is just the worst!!! that was and still me. there was a project i was working on in november and planned to release by the end of the month, but everything and anything i wrote felt icky. but then i read something that made it click and i plan to write the fic later this month/next month. here's a tip for the beginning for that hobi fic ( but only use it if it helps, okay?? this is only a suggestion):

perhaps the reason you can't get the fic in motion is because you are starting the story at the wrong spot or scene. sometimes it's best to begin a few moments earlier, later, or a different place & moment entirely.

a personal example. the original setting of a wip - mc was already at school and in the middle of a crisis. the issue was that i found myself telling the story rather then showing the story. as a result it was hard for me to move forward and have the readers sympathize with the character without showing more of their backstory, personality and intentions. - so instead i plan to begin the scene before mc is at school, where they're at home, and through their interactions with other people there, i'll reveal all the things i wanted without telling it through narration, and showing it with their behavior instead. bc actions speak louder than words.

I almost forgot to thank you for your answers to my asks, I'll be honest I was worried if I'd upset you in any way, I'm relieved I didn't. I saw your headcanons in that ask about "Genesis" and I saw the line about Alain's Mother "hoping he would be found" and I was wondering if you could please go into more detail on that, because that line has me curious. I think I recall one of your previous posts saying that his Mum began to resent(?) him for what she gave up? I hope I'm not being a bother!!

No problem! I saw that you Liked the asks, so I figured that you appreciated them, and I’m glad that you did. ^^ And like I said, don’t worry, you didn’t upset me at all. I’m just glad that it was clear that I wasn’t upset, haha. I know that sometimes the fact that I’m verbose and pretty passionate about what I talk about can make it seem like I’m upset even when I’m not. And don’t worry, you aren’t being a bother in the slightest. :)

Anyway, yes—some time ago I typed up a long post about Alan’s biological parents, but for the life of me I can’t find that post now and I’m convinced that Tumblr somehow deleted it (or that the Search function is just so useless that it absolutely refuses to pull it up). I spent several hours about a week or so ago trying to locate it, to no avail. >tried), so I rewrote the entire thing. You can find that here. To answer your question more specifically in this ask:

Alan’s mother, Lucia, did abandon him on the rock in the hopes that he would be found, and yes, she did hold some resentment against him for “stealing” her dreams / life / family, even though she knew it wasn’t his fault and he hadn’t really stolen anything. Essentially, she was eighteen, and she had dreams and a bright future as far as she was concerned, but getting pregnant and having a son … ruined that. She hated to look at it that way, and in a way she felt that maybe there was something wrong with her since she was just not bonding with her child the way she thought she would / hoped she might, but she couldn’t help it. She felt aggravated every time she heard him cry. She was anxious and depressed all the time. And as much as Alan’s father, Sebastian, tried to help her, he was just as overwhelmed and stressed and upset as she was, and so there was only so much he could do. They both tried, but in the end they agreed to give him up in the hopes that someone else would raise him. For reasons explained in the post, they ended up settling on Isolé Village, and while Lucia was originally supposed to take her baby directly to the mayor to ask if someone would take him in, anxiety and shame and panic made her feel unable to do that—unable to face that—and so she settled for leaving him on the rock instead. She did hope someone would find him, because though she resented him (had postpartum depression, more like), it’s not that she hated him, that she wanted him dead, that she wanted him to suffer. She didn’t want that at all. She just felt that she couldn’t take care of him, yet was too ashamed and panicked at the thought of telling someone else that, and so she left him on the rock in the hopes that someone would find him. Fortunately, someone did. Unfortunately, the next five years of his life were filled with neglect and child abuse all the same. (But of course, things turned around once Sycamore came to the village. He took that boy in and raised him wonderfully, the way he deserved to be raised. But if Lucia ever finds that out, it won’t be until at least fifteen or sixteen years later, when she goes to the village and they tell her.)

So she abandoned him, absolutely, and it was definitely the wrong thing to do. But while her abandonment of him was wrapped up in a lot of negative feelings (shame, panic, desperation, depression, anxiety, and yes, some resentment that she knew was unjust), hatred was not one of them. She didn’t hate him, didn’t want him to starve to death in the wilderness or be eaten by wild pokémon. She didn’t even want him to be mistreated and would feel terrible if she knew that had happened. She just didn’t want to raise him, and couldn’t own up to that to anyone aside from her eventual husband. She’s deeply flawed and a terrible mother, but she’s not inherently malicious.
