K I'm bored and have thoughts specifically about Welcome Home and the recent gtlive video on it and y'all... I'm tired.

BUT before I begin I will state my bias, yes I am a (adult, this will come up) fan of Mat and game theory, this isn't gonna be me white knighting this is more of a vent about other fans.

So ever since the gtlive I've seen plenty of posts about it in a 50/50 split. One side being worried or upset about the coverage because Mat is a big youtuber and the welcome home community (and especially the creator Clown) are in need of a break right now; and the other side is trying to descalate the reactions and explain how Mat covering the project is not the absolute end of Welcome Home (abit of an exaggeration I'll admit).

As you can tell, this falls into the latter; however the first thing I want to say is that some of the concerns are valid, again Clown and the fandom are in need of a major break (and frankly some of you also need an etiquette lesson) and the timing of the video is very poor, another concern is how Mat and his fans may accidentally cross the boundaries that Clown has set, again these are all completely valid concerns.

However some of y'all are blowing this way out of proportion and being really mean about it too. First of all Mat went into the video completely blind otherwise there wouldn't even be a gtlive about it; he had no idea about the issues in the community or Clowns boundaries at the time of the video, the only ones who would know are the fans who mentioned it in his comments and his team members who take those recommendations.

I'm not saying that the fans or even his team are completely at fault here, but to put the onus completely on Mat is unfairly shifting the blame.

Another thing that, honestly kind of pissed me off a little, were alot of posts with people saying that Mats "children fanbase" were going to overrun the community now.

First of all, Mats channel has been up for what? 10 years now? He has plenty of adult fans (told you it would come up) who know how to act appropriately, second of all just a glance over the comments and you'll see alot of people, who are likely also fans of Mat, talking about Clowns boundaries and how to be respectful.

But beside all of that y'all are saying "child fanbase" as if "children" (bc children is a VERY broad term) don't know about Clowns boundaries or can't respect them, which is honestly kind of insulting, yes kids and teens can be dumb, and I say that as someone who was incredibly stupid as a teen, but not all kids are as disrespectful or unknowledgable as you're making it out to be, plus Mat has 17.4 million subscribers do you really think that all of those people are A. Children and B. Gonna be horrible shits to the Welcome Home community?

K one more thing I've seen people upset that Mat kept using the term cult to describe what he thought was happening within the story, again a valid concern, cults are a very real very scary thing that people have to deal with.

Again, this isn't an excuse this is just an explanation. 1. Mat went in blind, he had no idea what the story was like, it could very well be that the letters that the people behind the (in story) Welcome Home project are getting are from some kind of organization we don't know.

2. Unfortunately cults are a very common "trope" (cliché?) In horror media, this isn't always bad but alot of the time it's less midsommar and more Halloween the curse of Michael Myers if that makes sense, it wouldn't be wrong for one of Mats first thoughts to be a cult, especially since he does videos on media with cults in them.

Hey folks. I've had a long day. I usually get long days. My days are busy. I come home, stretch my joints, try not to let all the trapped screams inside my lungs leak out of its chambers. Or fall into the sweet temptations of substance abuse. I mean coffee. I ain't a smoker and forswore alcohol a year ago. Tho the urge for a cancer stick grows every week. Especially after smth like this.

Only other addiction of mine is simpin. I open tumblr as usual and what do I see? Yeah. I peeked into Twitter all those years ago and said 'Yeah-ap. Not staying a single second longer in this hell.' And booked it. This place? At least it's fun here. But I keep forgetting most of social media's the same. But I gave away all my fucks I had in me some years ago........I'm just high on caffeine.

@tedraimisimp If ya reading this. I know you deleted your blog. I respect your decision. And no, what you did wasn't exactly wrong, you just shared your experience and ranted abit. We all do that. But you forgot, that this is tumblr.

I know you didn't ask but just so you know...that wasn't the best move. Deleting a blog after that post. People are just gonna pile on speculations and things are gonna go conspiracy level real quick. I know how it goes. Seen enough drama in my time. What breaks my goddamned heart is a fan who excitedly prepared for an event and shared their sweet experience with us now deleted their posts over this shit. Do people not think about the consequences of their actions these days? No I ain't bashing tedraimisimp I just said what they did wasn't wrong. It's those who are blowing this outta proportion and making ops uncomfortable.

For those of you who didn't have an actual experience with Ted. Shut your goddamn trap. Fucking shut it. Let the ones who actually were there talk. I need more evidences to hear from both sides to decide what is valid or not, and all the noises are not helping.

Now the ones who posted about their actual, real, positve/negative experiences, not the 'oh someone posted and mentioned this this and this' idiots, are getting uncomfortable. Just shut the fuck up for once and learn to listen.

Someone shared their experience. That's all. Op wanted to rant because they thought this fandom was safe to talk about stuff and their concerns. You are not making it safe. Yes I like Ted Raimi as an actor. No accusing him of things when there is no actual proof is wrong. Stop making him sound like a predator.

You don't know how many people got their lives ruined over false accusations. Over here it's hella common. All I need is an evidence and I'll gladly shove all my words down my throat. It's innocent until proven guilty.

I was personally a victim of witch-hunting style bullying. One person started a rumor, things snowballed into 'That kid is mentally disabled and carries contagious disease. An orphan. They are a virus. Yuck! Hope they die so we don't have to deal with them in our class. They also steal stuffs. A thief. Check your bags!'

I never fully recovered from it. I was called a 'plague'. Reason of bullying was simple. I was a quiet bookworm. Never talked much, not smiling much. They called me a psychopath and jokingly said one day I'll bomb the school. My best friend now had a similar experience. Those who throw accusations have no idea what the fuck they are doing. People commit suicide over that shit. Fucking shut it, christ.

Now if any of you personally had an unpleasant experience with Ted. Sorry to hear that. But thx for sharing. I needed to hear more 'cuz no person is perfect and I wanted to know more flawed side of him too. If he really has a darker side, and if it's serious, it'll be revealed sooner or later. You don't get to call him terrible stuffs just because he follows someone on social media or flirted with people. Watch your language, don't say what you don't mean, although now that I think about it, that motto that I live by don't mean much on internet does it.

God, fuck, gah my social battery is dying. All I wanted was to chill over wholesome stuffs but now I got this. Imma go watch horse feeding or smth cuz this just proves animals are better to deal with than humans. I can't even write fics in this state godhelpme

hi! hi!!! okay okay, im so sorry if this is annoying but ur the first person i've come across who seems to have actual knowledge of the moon knight comics and as someone who liked the show and wants to get into the comics but is So bad at figuring out where to start, do you have suggestions on what moon knight runs i should look into first?? no pressure at all!! just looking for some recs :)

Of course! Give me any reason to start yabbering about Moon Knight and I'll take it haha and dont ever apologise, if you have any other questions no matter how many, chuck them my way and I'll do my best! As I said, I get to talk about Moon Knight?? Hell yes!

I will admit though, I've only been reading the comics for about 4 years though so if anyone notices anything else worth mentioning, please do reblog and add on your own commentary!

The hard thing about Moon Knight is that each writer address the character differently. Some only focus on Marc/Mr Knight, some do focus on the system, and some dont even focus on character building at all and only focus on the story. And the new comics will be nothing like the old ones (where Moon Knight wasnt even a system, just a bunch of alias' Marc took on to cover his tracks).

From my own personal opinion, I think itll be a good starting point to read the comics that focus on the characters, and obviously the fandom favourite stories....

Top of the list! If you read this after the show, you'll find that it holds quite a few similarities (and it's where the panels from my last post came from!).

As a whole, it focuses on the system coming to terms with their lives and Marc finally finding peace within it, their relationship with Khonshu and how they realise its toxic, coming to grips with reality and how their diagnosis affects their perception... honestly, I personally believe this will give you a best understanding of the characters and the reality they face! (And bonus, it will obviously show and talk about Jake Lockley, so if you're still new to him, this is a great way to get to know him!)

There is a 4th alter that appears in this story temporarily, but it will make sense in the context of the story.

Okay - before the fandom jumps down my throat here, I will start off by saying this run isnt perfect. Far from it actually, and I wouldnt take it too seriously nor would I base my understanding of Moon Knight off of it.

However, I am recommending it because the story is very similar to that of Harrow and Ammits, and it's obvious where the show took inspiration from. So it's worth reading just for that, but as I say, take it with a pinch of salt.

Another great run, focuses alot more on an outside plot rather than the system, but the characterization is brilliant.

The rest become abit watery and rely on past stories/older understandings of Moon Knight. But it will also be worth checking this link out:

As it holds every single Moon Knight run in order, itll give you a better understanding of the placement of stories.

Moon knight does also appear in other character arcs such as the Punisher, Avengers, Defenders. Theres even stories where Moon Knight becomes the host of the Phoenix Force, and an alternate timeline where he merges with Spider-Man to become Arach-knight.

I would be careful with team ups however, as alot of the characters tend to be pretty ableist towards Moon Knight and use him as the butt of "crazy" jokes.

I'd personally go with with the Punisher team ups, because he tends to have a healthy respect for MK and MK will usually throw any snark back at him.

Okay that's alot and I still feel like I havent covered alot, If anything else comes to mind I will add on, and if anyone else has something to add please do!

I'm honestly abit torn about the Brandon Keener Mass Effect cast reunion situation. On one side it would be awesome to have him there and I'm certain a lot of Fan would love an interaction with him or a signed autograph. I mean almost everyone will be there and it feels like not complete with Garrus not being there but on the other side I want to respect the Man's wishes. If he's not comfortable with it it's only fair to respect that and not spam his/ other Cast members Social media with request about it. maybe he politely declined it and the other are just saying they weren't able to contact him. but I don't think he has a resentment towards the fandom. he reblogged/shared Fan made mass effect stuff and interacted with Fan with they pointed out every second NpC you encounter in Fallout 4 was apparently voiced by him. So in conclusion it's would be awesome if he does decides to show up but I won't be pressuring him.

PS just to be clear I'm not referring to you or your answer to Jennifer Hales Twitter posts, just in general. I think you're awesome

oh i absolutely agree. i don't mean to sound like i'm saying "hey, let's harass [name] until we get an answer!" or anything like that, and i apologise if it's come across like that. it just sounds like no one has really tried to reach/find him, which is disappointing if that's all it comes down to when he's a fan favourite and played a huge part. but at the same time i can't see them directly announcing he's declined, either.

but yes if he doesn't want anything to do with it then i'll respect that decision and leave it be, certainly, whatever his reasons are. he did like my comment when i tagged him in jen's reunion post on instagram, although this isn't really something he does, anyway. i guess we'll wait and see what happens.

unless he's one of the 'few surprises' they mentioned...
