heyo, just wanted 2 say that i thought your amenadiel-as-god prediction was so interesting! just curious about what u think this would mean for him and linda+charlie?

anon, i'm gonna be honest with you, i didn't think i'd even get this far with my first spec piece (i was more focused on just getting my main point out there), so how it was all gonna work with linda and charlie wasn't at the forefront of my mind. HOWEVER, as i was thinking about your question, Thee Dots appeared and Aligned so nicely. yes the glass i'm chewing is very tasty.

okay, at the end of the day, I don't think much will change for godadiel, his partner, and their baby. like, he's not gonna just fly off to live in the silver city full time. he's already said, even after the baby angelnapping scare, that no one is going to sacrifice more for charlie, protect him as fiercely, than they are, and they can do it there on earth. linda might have a minor, understandable freakout about her partner being god, but she already worked through angels and demons and having an angel baby, you know? “if anyone can handle this, it’s you, linda.” so, yeah, everything will be fine with them, and we know this bc the show, well, showed us this a la amenadiel looking after lux.

and this is where my brain broke and i devolved into feral all-caps in my friend @myinfinitevariety’s dms:

CHLOE SAYING THE CLUB WAS SO MUCH NICER SINCE AMENADIEL TOOK OVER -- THO OF COURSE HE LEARNED THAT HE CAN'T CONTROL EVERYTHING, THAT HE CAN'T JUST FIX EVERYTHING, THAT IN ACCEPTING HUMANITY, YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT SOMETIMES BAD THINGS HAPPEN, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU JUST SHIP OFF AND ABANDON IT. YOU DO WHAT YOU CAN TO PROTECT THOSE AROUND YOU, BUT ULTIMATELY, PEOPLE ARE GONNA BE PEOPLE. AMENADIEL LOOKED AFTER LUX.

sure, okay, maybe this is some ~foreshadowing for amenadiel to look after the world for a while before lucifer is ready to assume that role, but we’re just going to ignore that for a hot second b/c i’m not really on the Lod train tbqh.

amenadiel had this new role to navigate and he was still there for his family; linda and him were still together making things work. unlike his father, amenadiel never abandoned his son, even while looking after the world lux.

Lucifer Morningstar: But you are here on Earth, so, if it's any consolation, you couldn't do worse than our father. Amenadiel: How do you know that? Lucifer Morningstar: Because ours was literally never there.
