#Kuea is a RED RASCAL!

I am back to once again stir up discussion regarding color in Cutie Pie, and I'm doubling down on what I said about Kuea last time. KUEA KEERATI IS A BI-COLORED BOY.

Without a doubt, his primary color is red, and he's even pulling Lian's blue as early as episode one - but I started counting the number of times Kuea has worn yellow in the first 7 episodes. It's at least once an episode, sometimes the bulk of the episode. The lights in his Dragon's Lair house are both red and yellow. The car that Lian gets for him to drive in episode 7 is also yellow. At first, I wondered if he might be wearing yellow as a nod to Kon-Diao and their friendship, but the bulk of the scenes he wears yellow, he is with Lian or by himself. Lian even wears a tie with yellow and blue stripes. I'm gonna watch more episodes and keep track of the yellow a bit further, but I think 7 episodes with at one yellow shirt per episode is enough for me to declare Kuea both a red rascal and a yellow-orange oddity.

Kitty, you know what my thoughts are because we have been through this, but now I'm thinking that I'm going to fight you in a Texas Chicken parking lot! (I kid, I kid . . . or do I?)

Just because I wrote I'm finally getting on this bi-colored train due to how well I think To Be Continued is doing it does not mean I'm going to flip on Kuea too. Cutie Pie JUST got out of Petty Prison. And do you know why it was in Petty Prison? Because Kuea IS F*CKING RIDICULOUS!

He was lying and sneaking around when there was no need. He was coming up with these elaborate plans to hide shit when HE COULD'VE JUST COMMUNICATED! Which is funny because Yellow/Orange Oddities communicate. Sometimes too much. Like "telling people they need to poop" level of communication.

But you know who lies, sneaks, schemes, and stays on their bullshit? Red Rascals!

Which is probably why Kuea and Yi don't like each other.

THEY ARE THE SAME BRAND OF STUPID!

So instead of these two being honest with their partners, they hide their true colors because THEY ARE STUPID!

So this pendejo decides that Lian won't love him if he knows he wants to be a Korean Idol or whatever.

And he thinks Lian won't love him if he knew what Kuea's real major is.

And he thinks Lian definitely won't love him if he is speed racing Love-in-the-Air style.

But instead of this dum-dum actually giving up those things, or, I don't know, confessing to them, he decides to LIE, LIKE A LIAR!

So while Lian is trying to figure out exactly what version of Kuea he is about to marry, Kuea is hiding his real self which, ironically, reinforces his true colors since his scheming makes him even more of a Red Rascal. His color is literally always staring us in the face!

It's the red flag (or folder) that constantly comes between them.

Oh look! It's the other red flag between them!

And what's funny about this is Kuea gets mad at Lian for being cold to him when he is ACTIVELY LYING, so he runs off to his SECRET house where he has neon signs of his SECRET persona!

So the pot keeps talking shit about the kettle!

And the kettle has to figure out how to deal with a lying pot.

Which is to go along with his bullshit since Lian loves the idiot!

THEN CATCH HIM IN THE ACT!

Because Lian has always known who Kuea is.

He has known Kuea since that liar was a damn baby. Day one. Fresh from the womb!

The childhood merch wasn't for nothing!

So he knows the yellow isn't Kuea's. Because it's LIAN'S FAMILY'S!

You remember that great party that was happening for Lian's dad? The one where Kuea rejected Lian's proposal in front of God and all his guests?!

Look at that! The merging of two families!

But wait?! Why does Kuea wear so much yellow?

BECAUSE HE THINKS IT PLEASES HIS BLUE BOY AND HIS FAMILY!

This Slut for Christ could've been married to Lian YEARS AGO, but mentiroso had to keep lying and didn't realize that Lian loved HIM. Lian was doing everything for HIM! The story was about families, traditions, and old money versus new money, but when it boiled down to it, it was about loving Kuea for who he is, not because Lian was told to but because he genuinely loved that Red Rascal's lying ass.

So thank goodness Lian knows another ridiculous Red Rascal who he loves dearly, but also has learned how to fight a Red Rascal and their stupidity from.

So these two could FINALLY get together at the end wearing their true colors because it mattered who they were and not who their families were or wanted them to be. And that's also why there is still a little yellow in Lian's tie.

Because Domundi (DMD) always understands the assignment when it comes to colors, I will be tracking them in Naughty Babe each episode to see how the color story unfolds.

First, we got the backstory on why our Yellow/Orange Oddity Diao went from this

to this

And it's because his Red Rascal fiancé flipped the script and started to create distance between the two. When they first got in engaged, they were close.

but already Yi started wearing a muted blue color.

Which morphed into a bolder blue.

Until it started to surround Yi.

Which caused the distance to grow between them.

Because of this, Diao continued to lose his color on him even though sprinkles of it remained around him.

Because there is some red still lingering around Yi too.

And we see those reminders throughout the episode.

But Yi keeps trying to hide it for some reason while also avoiding the marriage questions.

Which is the reason Diao's last straw was also a reminder of what he wants - Yi's real color.

Because Diao has changed himself to fit into Yi's life, but blue isn't working for either of them.

So let's hope that blue phone gets broken (because it doesn't fit and it only brings sadness!)

Since Yi wakes up in the blue, but we know he is going to end up lying about his amnesia the same way he has been lying about his color.

And the red car is the key to solving why Yi has been hiding his true color.

Diao, who can't drive, received the red car as a gift for uniting his heart with Yi's, but the brakes didn't work, so did someone want Diao dead and not Yi.

So I'm invested in why this Red Rascal almost died in the red car, but woke up in the blue when he's been lying about the blue the entire time, and could it have to do with someone possibly wanting to kill Diao.

And we'll need the Red Rascal x Blue Boy husbands help to solve this conundrum.

We get it Kuea. You love your Blue Boy.

And your best friend.

Cutie (Colored) Pie

The Colors Award for Most Consistent Color Coding across Seasons of a Series goes to Cutie Pie's Lian and Kuea. They are color-coded boys in love, and their tale is the epitome of Champagne Problems as one Rich Boy tries to love another Rich Boy.

Lian is a Blue Boy who is loyal, stable, and new money.

Kuea is a Red Rascal who is passionate, spontaneous, and old money.

Kuea's best friend is Diao who is a Yellow/Orange Oddity.

Diao is in love with his Red Rascal guardian, Yi, who also happens to be Lian's best friend and business partner.

Indulgent Daddy Yi (who is the love of my life) is a Red Rascal trying to change to a Blue Boy, so he won't allow himself to openly admit he has feelings for Diao since he feels responsible for Diao.

Because he is a Red Rascal, but best friends with a Blue Boy, he usually gets put in the middle of Lian and Kuea's disagreements since he understands Kuea's hangups but knows Lian's true feelings.

The couple's issues stem from Kuea not being his true Relaxed Red Rascal self who wears jeans and T-shirts because he fears his Business Blue Boy, who wears suits all day every day, won't love him, so he pretends to be a Business Blue Boy too.

Kuea has tried to covered up his red since they were kids because their families arranged their marriage at birth and their families expect them to be compatible.

But Lian knows about Kuea's true colors since he grew up with Kuea.

Lian just wants Kuea to be honest with him and shows his love for Kuea by wearing his color.

Because he knows he is dealing with a real Red Rascal who sneaks out and keeps secrets.

So he encourages Kuea to embrace his color around him by hinting he knows Kuea's secrets, like by buying him a red drum set so Kuea can continue his musical ambitions in his new home.

But they are still at odds because neither truly feels good enough for the other.

Even though they love each other, which the color exchange proves, Kuea questions why Lian wants to be with him, and Lian can't understand why Kuea hides his true self from Lian, mostly because he feels like he, a man of new money, needs to live up to the family name and history he will inherit when he marries Kuea.

Kuea can't cook nor can he clean, yet Lian still wants to give him a ring, so Kuea thinks Lian is doing all of this due to obligation and pity when he finds out that his family is going broke, and Lian is basically getting them out of debt.

Kuea has to decide if he wants to put all their secrets out in the open and let the world know his real color, or if he wants to remain hiding himself and all the reasons he believes Lian and him won't work out.

He decides to be honest in his red bow tie, and in the process, he rejects Lian's proposal AT HIS DAD'S BIRTHDAY while he finally expresses all of his fears. Indulgent Daddy Yi steps in again with his boyfriend to help these two sort their differences out.

They reconcile after realizing that the love they have for each other isn't based on lies or coming from a sense of duty and decide to wait until Kuea finishes school before they get married.

Their friends and all the club serve as witnesses to their love, including the dark versus light color-coded Brooding Boy and Heavenly Human Nuer and Syn. Yes. We had THREE color-coded pairs!

Because Kuea is finally comfortable in their relationship, he carries Lian's love and color into his internship after only wearing red at school.

Kuea graduates with Lian by his side.

And they begin to plan their wedding.

They finally get married by Perth Gemini Jay after the perfect wedding that Poppy Foei planned gets ruined. Yes, Perth and Poppy were in this show.

And Kuea becomes an idol in Korea. Don't ask.

I look forward to seeing if Indulgent Daddy Yi can change his color in Naughty Babe or if he will learn a similar lesson as Kuea and let his true color shine.

Is Boston the most scarlet man, you've ever handled OR is Vegas the reddest boy you've ever seen?

Ooooohhhhh! Anon, I love this question. However, I'm going to walk you through how I categorize "reddest" so I'm giving you a list of sorts.

The "Reddest" Rascal

Runner-ups Cutie Pie's Kuea and Destiny Seeker's Ai had a lot of red clothing and possessions. Ai had a lot of red food and red underwear too, but Kuea had the red drum set and red motorcycle.

Uea from Bed Friend was strangely a tame red.

Until it came to the bedroom.

Surprisingly, Vegas from KinnPorsche is not the reddest, even for the negative rascals.

Only because he spent so much time trying to hide it behind a Green Guy mask, so Pete was the only one who really got to see his red.

Which is the same thing Boston from Only Friends does, so even though he is very red here, it's only this once and

he hides his color behind a Green Guy mask that only Nick can see behind.

So the only time we really see his red is when he is in his own space and usually alone, just like Vegas.

The reddest negative rascal is actually Sun from Midnight Motel, which his name even reinforced how dangerous he was because it was in his nature to burn everyone.

Homie was a psycho.

But he was very fine when he was being sweet.

So . . .

Final Answer: Mangkorn

This honor goes to Big Dragon's Mangkorn based on the consistent amount of red that surrounded him.

He had the red lighting in and outside his house, the red phone, red chopsticks, a red bathroom, red couches, a ton of red clothes, red blankets, y todo rojo!

Everything about him was red. He was consistently red. He easily gave his color to his guy and still had plenty left for himself.

And that's what it boils down to is the unwavering dedication to the color.

Vegas hid his. Boston does too. But Mangkorn never hid his. In fact, it was on full display at any given moment.

Even it it wasn't physically on his body.

And even if he wasn't in the room, he was still present.

Naughty Babe, who is Le Ling?!

I watched the Naughty Babe finale and had no idea who Le Ling was; therefore, I have to be annoyingly cringe about it, but before I begin, let me just say that Max looked delicious the entire eight episodes.

But also, this Daddy did too! And I'm not talking about Aon. No! Yi's father has been looking like an entire five-course meal every single time he appeared on the screen. This is the type of father that if your partner was acting up, forget about effing the friends. EFF THE DADDY! Sir, why are you looking so scrumdiliumcious? Is it all that money? Or is it the power? Perhaps it's you in red. Rawr!

Hand over heart, this entire family could get it. Mom included.

I gotta focus! The kids were in the playroom planning shenanigans.

This is a boy who gets it. I've always loved that his name is Syn because he sins but prays about it. Repents while he is doing it but still does it. Makes his sinful peeps pray too for good measure. We're not going to hell on his watch!

Toodles!" These two are the pettiest friends, and I love my ghost ship.

POPPY! Where were you all season?! Hopefully filming Love Puzzle, so I can see you kiss a homie, but I was glad to see the secretaries in love and as chaotic as ever . . . in red.

I know this is tied into Chinese tradition and Yi's family being Chinese, but YI IS A RED RASCAL!

And leading up to this wedding, there had been so much blue to represent Diao's family being the hindrance to their love, and now this entire wedding was red to represent Yi and his family and Diao becoming a part of his family, and

Then to have the gold dragons which represent Yi's family but are also Diao's color.

Pet! The Colours. The COLOURS!!

I was going to write a post about it but it just got too much for me and I KNOW you'll write one better than me anyway...but THIS got me going feral at the beginning of Naughty Babe ep 5 with the yellow in Kondiao's blue plaid pjs, the red in Yi's, and the (painful) disinfectant being mostly blue with a yellow stripe.

And then! The camera panned to trap Yi and Kondiao between the blue of the bed and the yellow of the lights 😭

I just...

But it was when Kondiao walked away from the blue bed to the yellow balcony wearing Yi's red that really got me. And I knew. I knew at that point, stood under the yellow and red lights in the distance, that Kondiao and Yi were not breaking up/cancelling their wedding for realsies but were actually setting a plan in motion.

A plan which continued in Yi's father's library - with the yellow walls and the red and yellow curtain - and in the vip room in The Pentagon bar - with the yellow seating and red walls - and also in Kuea's home, with the red and yellow of the cushions.

It's DELICIOUS Pet!! It's FEEDING me and yet I am still hungry and want more!

DADDY! You did a better write-up than I was planning, so I'm thrilled you are just as ecstatic as I am about this episode being filled with colors!

Now I'm confident blue is Diao's color for his family.

And Diao is caught between them and his love for Yi.

So it made me so thrilled to see Yi turn away from the blue.

As he nestled into the yellow throughout the episode.

Because, like you pointed out, once they made the plan to ruin their wedding, Yi didn't wear blue again.

Also, this entire murder plot seems to be solely the doing of the uncle and his brother, so I thought it was interesting that the dad was using a red folder since he does seem to genuinely want his kid to be happy with Yi.

While the uncle only has blue folders.

I also like that Kuea has his and Diao's colors in the pillows because Diao is always welcomed at his house.

Yet Lian confirmed Kuea HATES his fellow Red Rascal Yi

So I had a jarring, dare I say almost controversial, thought today regarding colors in both Naughty Babe and the Cutie Pie

What if our Red Rascals are bi-colored?

I was watching MaxNat react to episode 1 of Naughty Babe this morning and thinking about your post on how Yi is wearing a false color with all the blue, and I thought - what if he's not?

What if he's just changing and his color(s) are changing with him? But maybe he has lost his red, and he will have to balance the two?

And then I thought, what if Kuea is bi-colored? Because I think he might be red and yellow (based on several outfit choices, notably their date in CP episode 7 and the confrontation in CP episode 11). He wears just a hair too much yellow.

This spiral has been brought to you by Kon Diao's green pajamas during the NB nightmare scene and Lian's green suit during the CP engagement scene (because yellow and blue make green, or so I'm told).

I have a bias against bi-colored characters.

Maybe it's because Semantic Error spoiled me with its red herring, but as a bisexual, I surprisingly HATE bi-colored characters. Case and point - Bed Friend's King.

I struggled to acknowledged the black the entire series. And, at times, I thought maybe My School President's Gun was bi-colored as well.

But the exchanges were always temperatures of red x blue.

Because if it's two colors, why not a color scheme? Warm versus cool? Earth (brown is in there) vs Sun/Moon? Light versus Dark? Primary versus Secondary? Why just two colors? And why just one character?

If colors are being used to support the narrative, what do two colors say? Sometimes, they can be used to show the shift in alliance from one group to another, but that's not a character being two colors, which is why I struggle to recognize bi-colored characters EXCEPT Yellow/Orange Oddities because there is an entire tension-filled history behind yellow versus orange since most of what we perceive as yellow is actually orange (yellow has a much smaller spectrum than orange).

Which brings me back to the color exchange, because if yellow was Kuea's color, why not be in the exchange?

And same question to Yi? Diao wears red in the first season for Yi, and Yi wears yellow/orange for Diao.

Which is why I liked that Yi wore yellow when they were kids, and Diao played with the red car.

Then Yi shifted to red after the accident.

So if anything, they switched colors.

However, to combat my bias, blue could be Yi's color, but why is he so miserable in it?

Everything about the color has been a lie causing more stress.

When Yi was hiding something in the first season, it was in the blue, which is ironic since blue is an honest color.

And here we are again.

However, the OST shows ALL the colors, and Yi is in blue and red.

I'm confident Kuea is not bi-colored, but, honestly, Yi could be, yet, once again, why he is so miserable in blue? Perhaps because the blue isn't really his.

Because I found it very interesting who kept the red folder and who got the blue one.

Diao and Uea sharing the same sweater, much like the end of Cutie Pie, proves all these boys live in the same universe. *look at Diao's cute little heart earring!*

Give me Domundi's version of Our Skyy, but make it connected!

I want them all attending a big event, and King and Yi becoming buddies, only for King to find out that Yi faked amnesia to get Diao back, so he runs to Uea like "babe, I could NEVER!" and Uea telling him how Kuea was trying to hide his performer persona from Lian while Jade and Diao spread sunshine and positivity.

Because I need the Yellow/Orange Oddities to team up

So the Red Rascals can discuss their reasons for hiding parts of themselves

And the undercover Blue Boys to discuss their reasons for not living in their true colors (even though Yi's reason is him trying to get his shit together)

While this Blue Boy judges them
