we all talk about how cool it is that Kallus is part of a Lasat prophecy (because it obviously is), but I feel that no one talks about the objectively hilarious fact that Hondo is also part of that prophecy

Even though it has nothing to do with the boys themselves, I think I’m going to call the Imperial!Zeb and Rebel!Vampire!Kallus “queen in exile AU.” Partly because I already have “reverse au” as a tag, partly because the Lasat queen being under Imperial supervision is a large part of the setting. Inspired in large part by this drawing by @gettiregretti.
And here’s some background on the queen herself:
When the Empire came, the royal family was wary. They invited the Imperial diplomats to their table. In the same breath, they bundled up Miri and sent her to the country.
Within a month, the Queen and her consort were dead, and there was a very sympathetic Imperial officer offering condolences. It had been an anti-royalist terrorist group, he explained. She was now the heir to the planet. As the palace had been damaged in the attack, the Emperor–in all his generosity–was offering the princess a place in the Coruscanti court. Was there anything she wanted to bring with her?
Miri gulped back very real tears, and tucked away her rage. She asked for all the clothing that could be salvaged. For any jewelry that could be found. “I need to make a good impression,” she told the very sympathetic Imperial officer.
When they left Lasan, it was without her parents’ advisors. A much-diminished Honor Guard. Romance novels, instead of the teaching-tomes of history that were her birthright.
But Lasan’s rulers had the blessings of the Ashla woven into every garment. And she had her priestesses.
A week into their stay, some Imperials stopped by to ask about the young princess’ religion. They got two hours of theology lessons–long, wavering theology lessons, as Chava lost her place or forgot the Basic word for “hammer.” The lesser priestesses grimaced apologetically, and served more tea.
Then they set up for a ceremony, which was described as “looking at the world.” The priestesses explained that they had no interest in manipulating ripples. Their concerns were the deep currents of the universe. Ultimately, even a rainstorm upon the ocean would have very little effect on what was underneath. They relied on the old trees and the even older land to intercede on their short-lived behalf. It all sounded very mystical, and the throwing of rocks and sticks and bones among incense and chanting was backwards to Imperial eyes.
Miri maintained with wide-eyed earnestness that they were communing with the Ashla. The Imperials sent to inspect the priestesses traded laughing looks, and played along. Yes, of course, the old woman squinting at a mushroom was listening to the universe. When they returned to their superiors, they reported that the princess’ spiritual retinue, while silly, was no threat.
For her presentation to the Court, Miri wore real furs, and an akul-tooth brooch some long-ago Togruta admirer had gifted her great-great-great grandmother.
“Appropriately barbaric,” Zeb had muttered, when he saw her outfit. “Are you sure you’re not laying it on too thick?”
Miri smiled with all her teeth, and added a jangly bracelet.
Within months, she had a reputation–sweet, a bit silly, always ready to discuss the latest clothing put out by local designers. While she came from a backwards, backwater planet, and was nonhuman besides, she put effort into learning the court’s ways. Not suitable for matchmaking, of course, especially with her tendency to mix her own barbaric fashions with the latest outfits. But the dear girl was always a safe addition to a party. And she was always so happy to be invited.
Once, Miri was asked why her growing retinue was all non-human. After all, it was incredibly unfashionable.
“You’re all so pink,” she’d explained, scrunching her nose in good-natured disgust. “I wanted more color!”
The answer was easily accepted.
Miri liked it that way.

Please gush about your headcanons! I would love to hear them!!
alRIGHT lads, here we go!! Lasat theology and religion for the win! To start, I’ll just do a quick rundown of my versions of the gods and we can run from there.
Ashla (She of the Light)
other names: Lady of the Light, She of the Stars, Youngest Sister
born from the breath of the stars, the Ashla is the child goddess of the light and life. With powers wrought from the fabric of the stars, she created the Lasat, which she created after her own image. Lasat elders carry an ashla staff, which is said to be shaped after the Ashla’s own; with it, they can peer into the future. She is not good or bad, as light both chases fear and exposes it.
Bogan (He of the Darkness)
other names: Lord of the Darkness, He of the Void, Oldest Brother
born from the black holes of wild space, the Bogan is the warrior god of the dark and death. He is not malicious, nor cruel, as one cannot have death without life. With power drawn from the emptiness of space, he first created Lasan, a home for the life his sister had created. Then, as lesser gods clambered for power, he created Lira San, a safe haven hidden by his sister’s light should Lasan fall. The Ashla and the Bogan surround all things, and are subordinate to each other. He is neither good nor evil, as the dark both hides the truth and offers comfort to the overwhelmed.
The Bendu (The One In the Middle)
other names: They of the Space Between
The Bendu, born from the dust of collapsed stars, is the god of law. Often portrayed as a fool, as they does not bow to either their sister nor brother, their staunch refusal for either light or darkness led them to create law, which ebbs and flows as people see fit. The Bendu is solitary, preferring to wander the galaxy to leave their influence on whatever planet they see fit. Slow to anger, yet even slower to compromise, the Bendu is an endless source of frustration for their eldest brother and younger sister.

Friend friend
In your tags earlier on your post, you know the one the one-
When you were asking why The Bendu, a Lasat God, was on atollon????
I've been searching, but I can't pinpoint where exactly the star cluster leading to Lira San is located, but considering that some time VERY long ago, the Lasat people left Lira San and settled on Lasan, there's a good chance they made stops along the way, maybe stayed for prolonged periods of time.
Maybe the manifestations of The Ashla/The Bendu/The Bogan made attachments to some of these places. What if Atollon was one of the stopping points along the way from Lira San to Lasan?????
Okay bye now I have a one shot I'm working on and an interview I'm preparing for, so do with the above ramblings of a mad fan what you will-
OH THATS SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!
In a similar vein, Lira San was hidden just like Atollon was (though obviously not to the same degree), so maybe there should be a manifestation of the Ashla on Lira San just like the Bendu (except with way less spider caves, lucky for Zeb).
pardon my brief theological ramblings for a bit, but I’m bouncing between the bogan, Bendu, and Ashla being a pantheon and being triune (meaning they are at the same time distinct and the same whole, I.e in trinitarian christianity Jesus is fully Jesus and fully god at the same time). If they were triune, that’s actually pretty fascinating, because it prevents something like tcws mortis arc from happening (where one kills the other), because they are fully each other and fully separate at the same time. It also strengthens that the force is genuinely neutral, and that they truly are consubstantial in the fact that they are of the same substance but perform different actions/uses.
BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, if they’re a pantheon of gods, a) that makes it way, way easier for them to operate separately of each other, b) it allows for lesser gods in the hierarchy of Lasat gods, c) it allows for infighting among the gods (i.e a celestial war, which could maybe still fit with the consubstantial triune thing if I got freaky with it?). Maybe the bogan could not be evil just like the ashla maybe couldn’t be good, they’re just manifestations of light and darkness. AND THEN, that allows for sects and cults to form where extremist groups elevate one of the three above the other and twist their desires to fit their own agendas (I’ve already kinda started with this on Stars Go Dim, be on the lookout for Eversor :3).
