The writers made super powerful monsters that have a nearly 100% kill rate #People don’t survive the upside down (unless you’re in the party) #So either more rando’s gotta survive (taking away the threat of the monsters which we have established as dangerous) #Or party members gotta die #Like. Stranger things seasons are murder/mysteries save for season 2 which was like an exorcist/possession storyline #And Season 4 EXPLICITLY brings the fight to the party’s doorstep by involving max #You have show a chink in the party’s armor only to reveal they have a writer-created force field around them #I think that’s what bothers me #That they change the status quo by making the party vulnerable and then give el the power to bring back the dead #Like they wanna have their cake and eat it and it makes things kinda sloppy #Again not deal-breakingly sloppy. Not unforgivably bad #But just. Disappointing
