Good Morning, I am now thinking about Splinter’s character and the way he parents the turtles in Rise. 

It could very well be a product of how his Grandfather raised him. He lost his mom to this family duty thing and then his Grandpa tried to instill that same loyalty into him to this Hamato clan thing, and Splints just wasn’t for that. His Grandpa is constantly telling him who he is and what he needs to do and so he very well could seen his sons and remembering that life thought: I will never be like that. 

And so he tries to give them what he never had. No rules, no “you must become this,” no following them around and demanding they take things seriously. He gives them a home, everything they need using all his money from his time as Lou Jitzu, he tries to give them the freedom he wanted as a kid and never got, and that’s the Splints we see at the start of the show. 

He seems surprised sometimes when the Turtles express all they want is time with him, because he never wanted that with his Grandpa. They love him and want him in their lives, and although he loves them too he seems surprised every time that they care so much about wanting him around and involved. He never cared about what his Grandpa said (for the most part) so why would they care about what he says when he tells them good job? 

I love this show because we get an imperfect Splinter who’s trying his best and has a character arch. Unfortunately, because the show was forced to cut over half their episodes we never got to see a lot of that development that was meant to happen. But even so by the end we see him realize that all they needed was him and all he needed was them, to let them rely on him and rely on them turn. He’s there with them through every bigger battle that he knows about unlike every other version of Splinter who only comes out of his lair if absolutely necessary, this Splinter is there the moment his sons need him. 

I dunno I really love this version of Splinter y’all, probably my favourite yet because where every other Splinter is the turtles Sensei, in this version he feels like a father.

- Or the way you loved to watch Lou jitsu movies rather than Jupiter Jim

- The way you spent most of your time with dad

- Then it clicked…

- You’re just like Lou himself!

- When they told you

- You didn’t even know yourself

- But , they think it’s cute that their little sibling takes after their father

- So does splinter himself

- They all love you and want to protect you at all costs

- Like when Leo taught you how to skate board

- Little did they know you had been practicing while they went for missions

- So to their surprise, you were really good!

- That was until Leo tripped over his own feet

- Sending him flying

- Straight into you.

- Yeah. That was a very fun day for all.

So someone pointed out that Leo may have been the most aware of the boys when they were first mutated, being the only one sitting up and reacting to Splinter when he spoke.

Now I'm wondering if maybe Leo isn't actually the Eldest of them. Just work with me on this.

He has shown the most maturity overall in the series, and keeps the other in check when they try to do dumb without dampening the others idea of him being fun.

In every other iteration, Leo is always the oldest, and hence, the leader. And this shows turn Raph into the oldest and leader. But the reasoning that keeps being brought up in the show for Raph being older, is that his the biggest. And normally, that makes since. The older sibling is 8 times out of 10 the biggest. But he's also an alligator snapping Turtle, which are known to be very large.

This scene makes Leo out to be goofy (which is part of this versions personality) but also, did you see what he did? The boys wanted to go after some pretty dangerous criminals for their first hero mission. Now, at first watch through, I thought he was just being scared to get hurt, but after a while of watching his character, I think it was to protect his brothers more. Just look at what happened when they went after the 'paper theives' and they all could have gotten seriously hurt. If Leo had agreed to the spine breaking bandit, who knows how worse off they could have been? And Leo was able to use his charms and general goofiness to get the boys excited to go after paper theives.

And he does this for so many other episodes. If they're already in a bind, Leo jumps in to turn it around if he can. And look at when they broke the wifi and went to the mall, Leo was the one to get his brothers rallied into actually fighting the Foot leaders. Raph may have been the one to try to get his brothers to do something first, but it was Leo who managed it.

This scene right here, I can't get enough of. Leo is so vulnerable to Hueso about being alone. Sure, he got them into what he thought was a mess, but he did everything he could to save them. He learns from his mistakes.

And what of him barging into Hueso's office and crushing the model ship? You wonder how he showed maturity in that scene? I'm not saying he did. He was so terrified his brothers were gone, that he tried to play it off as no big deal at that moment. I have older siblings, and I am one as well, and I notice that when a younger is in trouble, we try to help right away. But when we don't know how to help, we kinda just float, wondering what to do, and most times, we try to make our sibling laugh, or we attempt to play off a situation thats happening while our sib is crying as something not so bad to keep them from having a worse time. Leo had no clue what to do. He went to the only person he could think of that could possibly help him. He's always known by Hueso as the dumbone, or close to that. Leo didn't want him to know just how bad he needed guidance. I could go more on this part, but that's for another time and subject.

My main point here is, it's very possible that Leo could have been the oldest, but out of Lou Jitzu's confusion on children, he was probably not even considered as older then anyone for a while.

Don't get me started on the Pizza Puff episode. That ones on crack. And magic poison... but that would get me waaaay off track.

That's my theory in a seashell, but I guess ge could just have been a mature younger sibling. They don't all have to be the oldest to be the leader of the siblings :)

APPARENTLY there were supposed to be more turtles,,,,???? Heres my take on Big Mama's assistant, the yellow turtle who is a yellow bellied slider.

For her, I combined Venus's and Jennika's designs, so I decided to name her Venus Jennika De Milo. I think this would be a neat idea, so theyd have more creative freedom with the other turtle.

Haha I also posted this before with a full body, but i realized there were a lot of things I'd forgotten in that full body so I'll post it on a later date when i have those things fixed.

Vee was created first for big mama with Lou Jitzu's blood, as her and Baron Draxum had a deal. Of course she changes the terms at the last second. And yeah, might share more of her backstory on a later date.

Not a request but do you remember that one ask that was about the rottmnt brothers reacting to finding out they had a fifth brother? Yah as wholesome as that was what if instead of Draxum treating his son like a son he treated him like a weapon, mentolly and physically scar him to be the perfect killing machine. It would be like looking in a mirror for the brothers, he laughs at others misery, can create weapons, is cocky with his skills and is somewhat stronger than the average joe. But all that dissipates when Draxum is present. And replacing it is a manufactured killer.

Oof, imagine if he decided that his brothers were just too fun to kill so he lets them win but not without hurting them a little. But due to his decrease in successful missions Draxum decides to punish him by puting a shock collar around his neck, so if he fails three times in a row or his performance isn't to Draxum standards he will get shocked. Breaking that stone cold facade and revealing that scared lonely boy for an agonizing half minute, and after the display of weakness he's ushered to his room, void of anything a tenager could occupy themselves with.

I feel like if his brothers ever get in real trouble he will step in, the brothers' adversary would be confused obviously, but it isn't till they mock him about how they are gonna beat him too is when he reacts. And at that moment the brothers realized just how much he had been holding back on them, he tore at a particularly fleshy part with his weapon tearing it to shreds letting the blood splatter all over his face. The deafening sound was broken by Mikey's whimper, the hunchback turtle looked at his brothers. His smile brimmed with glee, but his eyes told a different story.

Also I personally headcanon for this brother to be a eastern hermann tortoise and that his main weapon is a pair of two iron claws.

Like he just enters attack mode when they try to pay him on the head to say good job. And he grabs the hand and throw them. One of the turtles say they were being showed 'love and affection' and fifth brother goes into a rant saying 'Love is when your fighting till you can't stand! Love is weakness! I like where this anons heades at, I've also been thinking about what would happen after he got released from Draxum's abusive grasp and into the family. Like the anon said he would be very apprehensive at first with all the physical touches and praise, though i think he would break down in front of Splinter due to him actually treating him like a son. After that he'd try to be more open but he's not good with words, he shows his emotions through his actions, like the time Raph tried to pat him on the back and he snatched his hand out of instinct. The realization in his eyes that this is not his enemy told Raph enough.

Dude do you know what would be even sadder? His first instinct to being yelled at is to put up that cold facade, because mentaly he's back with his “father”, when in reality Raph is scolding him for doing something reckless.

Some scrap headcanons for the lil ruckus:

He can retract his claws and un sheath them at will.

He likes to call himself Terra, like terracotta.

Fought in Big Mamas battle nexus before working for Draxum, so he's got the mindset that every fight must end in murder.

His bandhan is wight, or used to be, Terra doesn't bother with washing it so it's stained with years of bloodshed.

His skin has a dirty yellow gradient to it while his shell has the texture of sand lined with dark ponty crescent moons facing upwards.

He's 15 years old and very smug about it despite there not being much to be smug about.

After he got into the family he started wearing things around his neck to cover the scars from being shocked.

Contrary to popular beliefs he doesn't have a mystic weapon, he can beat your ass to a pulp without one.

where do I even start, I really think Like Father, Like Son (LFLS) is quite similar if you haven’t read that you definitely should! The only big difference is that instead of a fifth sibling, it’s Leo

I think a lot of people like the what-ifs a fifth sibling brings esp if they have gone through a travesty, the whole Draxum plot just makes sense, he wanted to use the turtles to take over the humans, his plans got thwarted by Lou Jitsu, what if Draxum had another turtle??

I rlly like Terra’s development, im so glad he ends up getting to see the power of family and love, poor dude went through a lot!

Differences between Terra and the sibling!reader (I’m just going to say y/n since and saying sibling!reader is quite long) in Lost & Found :

y/n is 13 years old while Terra is 15

y/n wears a black bandanna while Terra’s starts off with white (becomes bloody)

y/n has a mystic weapon (tantō/short sword) when activated they become engulfed in what looks like a black shadow and basically has super speed, Terra does not use a mystic weapon, instead has iron claws (real claws retractable?)

y/n has shell scars/cracks, Terra has neck scars

y/n is a diamondback terrapin, Terra is a eastern hermann tortoise
