Liliana Marquez: 1890s Lookbook

An early 1890s lookbook for my foundress, Liliana Marquez. Liliana is a working-class daughter of Californios (Californians of Mexican descent). She married Alberto and moved with him to his uncle’s cabin in Oasis Springs. Liliana’s style is practical as she spends time working in the garden and many of her dresses reflect the fashions of the later 1880s.

Christmas at the Marquez home was simple now that the children are all grown, but the family enjoyed singing Christmas carols and opening presents. Carolina, who is in the third trimester of her pregnancy, also stopped by.
