The focus was on educating the schoolgirls about essential topics, including menstrual health and hygiene. Major Ruth Omedi, the ATMIS Sector Two Gender Officer, explained the mission behind their involvement, stating, "We are here to talk to the girls about various aspects that affect teenage girls, including menstrual hygiene, mental health, and substance abuse. It's our mandate as ATMIS to ensure the empowerment of women and girls. In particular, we are focusing on health because it's the only wealth these girls have at the moment, and we need to preserve that wealth for their future."

Let women be. Let women grow. Let them flower. Let's stop the stigma on period flow. According to @unicef 2.3 billion people lack basic sanitation services. Most girls have their first period and are unaware of what's happening to them. This is the result of lack of education & awareness about menstruation/periods as it's never openly discussed. During this lockdown most of our work may have come to a halt but periods have not. Periods don't stop for pandemic neither should we back up from spreading awareness to young girls. @unicefindia has teamed up with @stayfreeindia & @post.for.change to raise awareness on periods. #MenstruationMatters #MHDay2020 Participate in the #RedDotChallenge to show that SHE matters & encourage her to share her story.
