It's Munday! Here's some pics of me at Loch Ness from last week, finally got my hair cut but the wind did me no justice lmfao. Also been obsessed with playing around on picrew lately to relax so there's some picrew versions of me (ngl I would change the devil wings for magpie wings and horns for antlers but otherwise yeee). I've included links to these picrews under cut, as well as a shot of the jambalaya I got to help prepare and had. It's not massively authentic given I can't eat seafood, but we did follow the recipe for seafood-free jambalaya we'd found as closely as possible. Goodness it was tasty.

We ended up using chicken and beef sausage, which is the dark 'bean-like' chunks. It was p tasty, definitely would try making it again myself one day with other ingredients (smoked sausage and chicken maybe???), even if I'm not much of a cook.

WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE :

     Welllll, a LONG time ago, back in like...2007? I got into Naruto, watching the dub on Youtube after class! It was a kind of escapism for me, as I was going through...a of troubles at the time. I think that, combined with my manic nature, made it a really important story to me. And like a lot of people, I wanted to make a character to sort of...play along!

     ...the first result was...not good xD I won’t go into details because I would DIE of shame, but...the first fandom-tied muse I made was baaad, haha! I then fell out of Naruto for a while, and left the character. But in about..2012? I think? I met my friend Lolo, and she was MAJORLY into Naruto - we met on DA when I commented on a Hinata lineart she’d colored, actually xD She got me back into the fandom, and introduced me to the idea of RP! From there, we RPed...gods, hundreds and hundreds of pages, SO many threads, and it was then I took just a few basic concepts from my OLD OC, and started over: made her almost completely anew.

     It was from that Ryū was born! Or...reborn, I suppose. At first she was more of a...blank slate. No backstory, just something to build as I went. With Lolo, I gave her what’s now her A Light Amongst Shadows verse, which I also RPed with another friend on ff.net xD And then in...2015, November, Lolo suggested I make an RP blog. And now, just over two years later...here we are!

WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVOURITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :

     ...I will admit, there’s a lot about Ryū that’s sort of like...what I wish I could be. She’s able to help people, she’s strong in her own way, and even though she has a lot to drag her down, she always gets back up. She’s always kind, empathetic, and she never gives up on people. I wish I could be one tenth the person she is. But even then, she has faults, some of which are very deep...and yet she still gets by.

     I often struggle with some of my own limitations, so...as controversial as the aspect is, she’s a bit of a dream muse for me. But regardless, it’s because of her that I’ve made so many friends here, and have been able to keep going. That’s what I love about her most n_n

FAVOURITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS :

     Oh gosh...I dunno if I can pick! It sort of depends on my mood? Some days I crave angst, others fluff, sometimes drama or smut or...anything! But mostly I love ones that let me dig deeper into her character. She has grown SO much during our time here - I never would have discovered many of her traits without having in-depth interactions with so many amazing muses. Ones that challenge her, and put her into new situations. And make her consider new points of view. Long threads where all the muses in it feel the effects of the story we weave!

I think the most important thing for people to know right about me is just,, I'm a silly little guy. Just a goofy fella. I'm here purely to have a good time, to interact with people and bring joy while enjoying myself too. I'll never find interactions with my mutuals a bother. EVER. Nor do I take things too seriously. Dropped thread? Chill, we'll write another. Accidental mistake in the writing/presumption about my character that isn't true? I'll message you politely to give you the heads up if you want to correct it but even that doesn't have to happen, we can just ignore it and move on lmfao- that's all. It's VERY difficult to annoy me. One of my worries is annoying people or upsetting them by coming across wrong/too intense. That's something I think about A LOT and I may seem twitchy to people in the beginning because of that fact, double checking I've not annoyed them or just,, apologizing for interacting with them, tbh. It's nothing personal, I'm just autistic and have been told countless times I can be 'a bit much' so I don't want to sour blooming friendships by coming across that way. In fact I often start interactions with people with the warning 'I can talk a lot, I promise I won't be upset if you tell me to stop'.

Admittedly I'm TERRIBLE at approaching others but my general go-to with trying to befriend people is trying to assist them with something. I see a mutual struggling with graphics on the dash? I offer help or to make them something, if they'd prefer. Hopefully that starts conversation and I can then use that as an excuse to interact with them. Secondly would be to info-dump tbh. This is only for specific sorts of people who carry the same intensity but if my energy is matched when talking about something I'm passionate about then you can BET I'll be there throwing fanart, headcanons, rp ideas and all sorts to that person- because I'll feel like I'm (mostly) not being annoying. I'll probably still apologize if I send too much at once though, cause that can happen.

It's munday, so here's me post-haircut about two days ago. I'm p grumpy in them because it was right after that 20 minute haircut that cost far too much and while it doesn't look bad at all, she cut off a lot more than I wanted on the side you can't really see (it's blended up instead of being an undercut with my hair just flopping over like usual). Next time just gonna shave the bastard thing myself.

Both @girlishgiggle and @compelledcurator sent: What’s a tip you would give to people trying to get to know you?

Don't be afraid to double message if I haven't responded to the first one in a little while. I will NEVER be bothered by it - often I get distracted or don't have the energy to reply right away and then end up forgetting to reply at all. This WILL be a consistent thing because I have the attention span of a bag of ferrets, it's not because I'm not interested in talking to you.

I am not always the best at reading tone so I appreciate direct communication, if I've somehow upset you or my own tone sounds off then please just ask/tell me. It's important to me that everyone around me is comfortable and I can't maintain that if I'm oblivious to any issues.

In general I'm an anxious person, often I'll type and retype messages because of my aforementioned tone issues, worried I'm coming across wrong. If we're DMing and I'm typing for nine years for a sentence, now you know why.

I'm not great in group spaces, even if I try to be. Often I don't know when to give my input and end up not speaking for fear of breaking the flow of conversation. If not explicitly welcomed to chat, I will assume it's not for me to join in. So if we're in a server together and you want to get to know me, it's best to DM or smth to say hi.

I'd say I'm most like Lucifer though, in fact my friends legitimately LAUGHED when they met him in the show because every new detail was just so me that it was ridiculous. Throwing the hard-hitting questions at me, huh? This one is SUPER complex because I have different feelings depending on what problematic thing is going on. Personally as long as it's acknowledged that what the character is doing is problematic, I don't see any issue with writing bad guys doing bad guy things - WITHIN REASON. I mean, where would most of our most beloved shows be without some awful asshole causing issues in the show? Can we really just ignore that people like these exist for the sake of squeaky clean media? No. But on the flip side? I wouldn't write certain topics regardless because it would make me feel icky?? I feel like (outside of the murder stuff from my more killer-y muses because lbr that's all just crime fiction drama shit) if I've not had experience with it directly then I'm not super comfortable writing about it because I won't be able to know the effect it could have on people to read it. Honestly I'd probably base it all on vibes when it comes to writers doing this kind of thing, if the person seems to relish in getting to say/do these awful things with their character then it would probably make me think they're kinda all for the toxic behaviour and it'd make me uncomfy to interact with them.

For me, Tumblr rp feels like home. I've tried writing is so many different places, with so many different formats but only tumblr offers me a chance to do so the way I like to. Icons, some formatting, it allows me to emphasize things I want and add details in tags. It's just wonderful, for all the hellsite can be. The climate is- well, a mixed bag. It really depends on who you surround yourself with and finding those that vibe with your energy. Personally I'm a super laid-back person whose just here to write silly little characters but some people take it more seriously, like LIFE AND DEATH kinda seriously and I just don't have the energy to interact with that kind of thing. People make mistakes, forget things or even divert from canon and that's all okay IMO. Shit happens. Thus far I've had no issues with anyone, I really love the energy of my dash and the little slice of the RP scene I've found myself in. Honestly it's one of few things keeping me sane atm.

10. [Answered here!] 13. Unfortunately I only know one language, I always had trouble retaining words despite a passion for both Spanish and French in my youth. Honestly I forget English so frequently that 90% of my googles are me looking for a word or checking I'm right in what it means, and English is my first language. 16. Though I listen to near enough anything, I do have a particular fondness for music that's just a little unhinged and not manifactured to necessarily sound perfect. I don't know what genre any of it would fall under but my best example would be Will Wood (who I listen to daily!), there's so much character and emotion in his voice that it just scratches my brain in the perfect way. I'm sure a lot of work goes into what he creates but it always feels as though it's off the cuff and with all the emotion of a scene from a musical, like he's not just singing but acting out the music. If that makes any sense at all.
