Scott I've thought so much about Dream SMP importing. I think back when things were even remotely normal Dream kept a little requests box in the Community House where people could ask for things or donate some money so he could go and get things for people but then he got really bad about checking it after L'Manberg. Everyone assumed it got destroyed in the explosion but Ranboo kept it and sometimes sorts through the cards for fun.

Schlatt Co. was well established enough to make shipping orders but the man mostly ordered useless stuff. Lots of fold out chairs. Health drinks. fine china. he got a bunch of military grade guns but they were fully unusable because no one knew how to operate them and only one was used when quackity shot him. most of them were just shoved in a cabinet.

The only other big order someone made was when Quackity bought a bunch of scorpions and tonnes and tonnes of sand and a few dozen cacti. There were so many boxes.

Besides that people pretty much were either scavenging from old supplies or living off of nature and manually mining up shit. Some people adapted to it better than others

Anyway the idea of a community request box is really cute to me im wondering if they had like a cabinet in the community house with little labeled sections for everyone. So yhey could pick up their mail after the fact (there is no fucking way anyone is dropping the packages off at their individual houses). But I bet the orders arriving is a big deal in of itself so the pickup area gets super crowded iys like having a mini party except over stuff like new sheets and dried pineapple . Yk things that are sort of luxuries so people get really excited. It must’ve been really hard getting on after the community house stopped being kept up with. Especially because all the server members were really drifting away from each other by that point. Absolute hell

1a) ALMOND CANONICALLY BUYS 10000 OF THE SAME SHIRT . LIKE HE HAS SPONGEBOB WARDROP SYNDROME HE WEARS THAT STUPID OUTFIT EVERY DAY !!! But also i would like to believe he owns One (1) divorced dad shirt. the button up floral ones

1b) as for walnut,,, i honestly dont know HVXKFBF She may be like her dad ? This one has stumped me </3 i actually do not know

1c) ROGUEFORT . They enjoy designing clothes and costumes so i think theyd have like a section of Normal Clothes, some of which theyve made themself, pretty casual but also somewhat formal (like their civilian outfit), and then theres a section just of costumes. Including their primary phantom thief ("phantom bleu") outfit !

1d) cappuccino. Dear godge. i think his closet doesnt even have clothes in it its just Junk or at least clothes he never wears. All the stuff on his floor is just various styles of shirts and pants and shit and he rummages around and finds whatever smells the Least like cigarettes and wears that. she has a TON of divorced dad shirts (or as she likes to call them Vacation shirts) which i think hed wear often, even just casually, but theres a shit ton of other random clothes. and probably like One Nice Suit thats in a ball in the corner next to his robe

1e) Langue . To be honest i think they just own a variety of clothes in the same color scheme as the suits they and their parents wear. like the red with the cyan accents. they also own a black suit for Fancy occassions and probably a dress for the same reason although they hardly ever wear it

1f) including truffle on here because. :3. She has a wide variety of clothes all custom made by chocolate bonbon !!! they are all fun elaborate dresses in an assortment of colors

2) langue probably. If they didnt win theyd start crying so everyone kind of lets them win/silly But like walnut langue and cappu would all be really competitive. Rogue is just having fun and almond is trying to keep everyone from being too competitive

3) OUUUGHHHHH . It depends on how much they know ,,, if they find out ALL OF IT and how rogue isnt at all who they thought they were theyd be SHOCKED like Oh my god you went through all that and yet you still look like :3??? what the fuck. If not theyd more just be incredibly confused and be like What The shit phantom thief lore runs deep how do they endure all of this

4) I THINK SO . Probably has a coffee maker in his office since he makes so much of it although she doesnt have very fancy stuff ,,,, he kind of just makes sloppy cappuccinos that vary in quality and amount of ingredients every time for Multiple reasons. too busy working, doesnt care at this point to make it properly, too tired, perhaps a combination. hes probably just had a cup of coffee beans in milk before LOLL She much prefers the Good Stuff from coffee shops and orders a bunch at once and then just drinks the nasty ones when she runs out. very used to drinking lukewarm/straight up cold coffee. But i think she would offer it to almond yeah :] dont know how often he would accept considering the,,,, questionable quality

5a) HELPPP THIS IS SUCH A FUN QUESTIOn . For almond i think hed be shaking in his boots the whole time and have a heart attack and die at his first jumpscare. Do not let that paranoid old woman near the keyboard dear godge.

5b) WALNUT WOULD ALSO BE TERRIFIED but stubborn as fuck because she HAS to beat this thing. (she would pretend to not be scared but both her and almond have peed thwir pants /JOK) SHE WOULD ALSO BE SUPER INVESTED IN THE LORE And come up with her own theories

5c) roguefort,,, Honestly im not sure HXBDKFG i think theyd just be really confused rhe whole time and not get the hang of it. Theyre startled by the jumpscares, not exactly terrified, but they cant figure out the patterns and stuff very well

5d) cappuccino is Immune To The Horrors he would just stare at the screen with a blank face and probably fall asleep on the keyboard during night 3. It takes him an incredibly long time to finish but she does it for 8 hours straught and finishes in one day

5e) langue would be Easily startled and get EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED when they fail but theyd be stubborn and do it anyways

5f) bonus truffle again. she wouldnt understand that shes supposed to play the game because shes never played a video game before. also thinks all the scary animatronics are cute and just spends the whole time having someone open the cams for her so she can go "aww!!! what a sweet little bunny! so sweet!" and when they jumpscare her she thinks its a hug

6) taps chin. They get up at 6am (or earlier,) i imagine they spend at least 30 minutes in the shower, then another 30 doing their hair, their parents probably make them breakfast and coffee,,,, soo an hour and a half possibly ?

7) OH ABSOLUTELY. have you SEEN how big that thing is he is a WEAK OLD WOMAN who cant even lift a brick its probably breaking his back. I cannot tell you how many times hes tripped over that thing. it probably gets caught on a bunch of random objects too HVDSLBEKDBF

8) ABSOLUTELY. Theyve totally cut themself on sharp rocks and had a few extra rough falls ,,,, i have this headcanon for a spell that makes you feel the pain of an injury all at once for 12 hours and then after the huge spike of pain youre free until the spell wears off !! Healing magic in my fanon is pretty rare just as to not be overpowered so they use that spell to make it easy to escape and treat the wound later when theyre in a safe place. :] they also have a spell to get bloodstains out of clothing

POINTS . thats her Auntie Cap. cappu likes to give her little gifts every time he sees her like plushies and new detective novels and candy (it is his love language) :] She thinks hes very cool and probably ignores all of his unhealthy habits because cappu isnt around her enough for her to realize how unhealthy he is anyways HBKXB

Oh my god making the old woman who mentions Luke feeding the cats be the one to say the meme is perfect. Luke does have a good heart that five star review is more than deserved!!

"Adequate" being the nicest thing Vyn has ever said to Luke is so fitting drsuteut he'll go full Marius in this fic for mc and mc only, everyone else has to be content with just being satisfactory.

If Vyn put the gnomes outside the NXX building I wonder if it'd scare away some of the people who keep intruding into the building somehow.

oh my god, gnomes as NXX GUARD STATUES JHVKJHFDS!! i adore that so much, but it'll come with the caveat of luke walking past them So Very Fast and not making eye contact bc he finds them so inexplicably creepy. he doesnt even mod the gnomes to have cctv or be able to shoot tranq darts, hes sure that the gnomes, by virture of being off putting gnomes, is enough to ward away most people

marius' wall of text review was by far my favorite thing to write. i never forget hes an art student and that he has in canon said some beautiful ass lines chock full of romance and adoration. and hes really sorry for eating luke's sweets.

aaron left that review cuz luke has been ignoring his texts abt the whole deal. one day, aaron will physically drag luke to therapy and wait outside to make sure luke doesnt jump-tuck-and-roll out thru the window. but that day is not today.

ted being the one to break it to anonymous reviewer that stellis is whack is wholly inspired by his one line back in luke's perso story 3 when luke was fucking beating up aran audibly and ted was like "UHHHHHH..." and mc was just like "//eye twitch. dont worry about it, dont think about it too hard"

artem having beef with kanon is forever gonna be my favorite minor detail in tot. like, yea i know it was only mentioned in ssr atmospherics, but it's just so funny to me to think that artem held that grudge for Forever. he shld get to have his petty moments, methinks

I actually made a gif tutorial a little while ago, which might be helpful! There’s part 1, which is just the gifmaking process itself, and then part 2, which is the brightening/coloring section where the magic happens. There is also a link in there to a sharpening action that helps make my gifs look very crisp. 

Of course, this is just a springboard to start people off with. The steps of the coloring and brightening don’t really change much between scenes, but the colors you use and how you use curves/gradient maps changes a lot. So while the tutorial might be good to give you a basic understanding of how to create a gif, there’s nothing like experimenting with the different options and seeing what happens when you click a button. (You can always CTRL+ALT+Z the whole thing if you hate it. Promise.)

I’m personally really fond of gifs that have a lot of bright colors and happy skintones, haha, so I have no idea why I landed myself in a fandom that.. does not do the colors or the happy in its source material. 😂 Anyone who’s talked with me will have heard me yellin’ about the fucking neutral tones in BoB/TP and how much of an enemy the indoor Haguenau scenes are for me, lol, and so I personally recommend coming into my IMs/inbox to scream about it with me once you’re giffing this stuff. Seriously. Drop me a line. I’ll shout with you and then tell you how I fix the hassle.

Some other helpful things below the cut:

The quality of your video helps. I have both BoB and TP in 1080p, which is pretty much the standard if you want your gifs to look high quality. You could shoot for 720p in a pinch, but there’s a little difference already in the way that’ll look in comparison!

Screencap a bit more than necessary. You can always remove the frames you don’t need, but if you count the amount of screencaps beforehand you might land with a scene that ends in the middle of someone’s mouth being wide open or someone being mid-movement. Play the scene out a few times in Photoshop so you get a sense of where to cut the frames.

Dark scenes are really finicky to get right. I prefer to work with a curves layer to brighten it up, but sometimes that is too intense for the scene and I resort to a gradient map instead. I always set the first half of the gradient to something light purple/pink and the other half to light yellow, then adjust the layer opacity (set to soft light) as needed.

Neutral-toned scenes usually have me adding a selective color layer (bringing out a smidge of cyan/blue or red/yellow in the neutrals section) before I add the curves layer. Rule of thumb: if the scene itself is yellow-toned, you use blue tones to bring it down; if the scene is blue-toned, you use red/yellow tones to bring it down. It’ll help even out the skin tone problem. Learn which colors cancel each other out and giffing gets easier. Color theory is your new best friend, welcome to art school! 😂 

Occasionally, I will use color balance to add more blues to shadows and more red/yellow to highlights in a scene when I struggle to get the skin tone to sit right. Another helpful thing depending on scene coloring (too cyan? too green? too something-something you hate?) is photo filter set to a warm color or lilac/lavender color. 

I will sometimes add a vibrance layer. I’ll set the vibrance high and the saturation a little higher than median on the gifs that really don’t mind that sort of thing. Scenery gifs and gifs that have just one pop of color really, really love that layer. Gifs with a more tricky color palette (yellow tones helppp) really don’t like it when I push those buttons. Again, experiment!

On rare, rare occasions: the reduce noise filter. It’s really fab for giffing scenes that take place wayyyy in the background of an actual scene. If you crop something that takes place in the background, you often get it looking a skosh too grainy. Reduce noise heals a lot of that jazz. 

Tutorials are your best friend. I followed a lot of different giffing and coloring tutorials to figure out what I liked and what worked best for me. Everyone gifs a little differently, believe it or not! So my method works for me, but it might be a hassle for someone else. Trying things out and just.. not being scared of the buttons helps. 😂 You can always undo it!! Just press the button, go “oops that looks like a unicorn puked on it” and undo it. Press the button, squint at your screen, go “Speirs isn’t supposed to be that green” and undo it. Eventually, you’ll hit a button that lands you with the good things. If not, save the whole thing as a .PSD-file and try again tomorrow.
