honestly, a lot of the MDZS takes I see regarding WWX vs JGY really seem to boil down to martyrdom

self-preservation, in and of itself, is seen as a flawed character trait. fighting to survive, using any means necessary, is Wrong if your sole motivation isn't to save others

having any kind of ambition, drive, or wish for a nicer life is seen as selfish - as though wanting better is worthy of criticism (something we see in the book time and time again)

idk I wrote a whole long post about this awhile back that I've since deleted but it really bugs me how many of JGY's 'flaws' are mirrored in WWX and thus magically transform into something desirable

WWX's mistakes can be handwaved away bc he did everything for a 'greater good' but JGY is simply evil and conniving despite helping the common people bc he had the *nerve* to put himself first

what if i fucked around and made hendrickson a very quick and very short mdzs verse ( in the sense that i've got it in mind while making it ) . maybe i'll switch it to just xianxia eventually but for now

instead of a holy knight he's likely just a cultivator for a highly esteemed clan ( either the wen or just some random one, kinda leaning towards random because i'm not making Everything 1 : 1 )

his little demon phase in canon is him dabbling into demonic cultivation in this verse and he nearly loses his mind completely, but through some method or way unknown, he loses the ability to use dc instead his mind is not completely healed after the ordeal, but through time it Will get better . it's because he can heal himself extremely well, but he inhibits his own healing anyway ( both consciously and subconsciously )

he becomes a rogue cultivator after this, fueled by regret to separate himself from those he cares for

not as much of a wet sock as default ruohan, but damn does he come a little close

his cultivation is very healing-focused, and he leans on it heavily once he isolates himself from others . he roams around healing people and refuses to take any compensation occasionally, his refusals turn violent, but he doesn't mean for them to . it's not even something he purposely does every single time ( he doesn't know the reason behind this ) ( zag doesn't either but he'll find a way to word it eventually ) he's much better at healing himself, but his ability to heal others is higher than most

he is, of course, not a druid in this au . he's no manner of special human at all for the moment

the reason he dabbled into dc to begin with is because he was mislead by another that it could be used to better himself and better protect those he cares for, though he won't say who he was mislead by if he gets drunk, one might hear some snippets . something to do with someone he loved ( and loves ) very dearly...

still a little clueless when it comes to interacting with others . his isolation makes him a bit more awkward, as well, but he is a kind man who doesn't believe he's capable of being so
