2021 US Presidential Inauguration Chart
(Or why I don’t see Joe Biden becoming president, part one of two)
To be clear for those who don’t know quite what this chart is, the US Presidential Inauguration chart is about a US presidential administration that is inaugurated at noon on January 20th. The Twentieth Amendment to the US Constitution gave a specific time to the beginning of a presidential administration, which is January 20th at noon. (This amendment also gives the start time to each new house of Congress--the Senate and House of Representatives--on January 3 at noon, but that is not what I’ll be posting about.) Since there is a specific time involved, any astrologer can draw up a birth chart based upon the date and time. This technique was pioneered by Edith Hathaway, who declared that Barack Obama would win the 2008 presidential election in February of 2008, which was when the Democratic primary was still ongoing and contentious. (If you’re interested in hearing her describe all of this, you can watch this youtube video of her going over this for more than 2 hours.)
Tumblr media
Anyhow, I previously mentioned Uranus conjunct Mars, which is ruler of the 1st house, in the 2021 Presidential Inauguration chart. Since that is occurring in the first house of the chart, I see that as indicative of the presidential administration of 2021 to 2025 being part of radical change. Astrologer Barry Rosen, noted recently that Neptune will be the nakshatra of Purva Bhadrapada until April of 2024. Specifically, “Neptune also rules socialism, so the Bernie movement will probably come back strongly over the next 4 years and clearly this will happen as more and more people are off of work and needed government help.” I see this as an indicator that I am on the right track, even though he made some other comments about socialism that I disagree with.
In my initial post, I mentioned that Edith noted that you can see the difference between the strength of the Vice President and whether or not the President will have attacks on his life through the inauguration charts. I will give you a couple examples of past VPs seen through the inauguration charts--Lyndon Johnson & Dick Cheney. Then I’ll talk a little more specifically about what else we can already see in the 2021 chart.
The reason looking at the Vice President within the chart is so important is for two reasons:
1. There seems to be an assumption in some of the Democratic party that Joe Biden’s Vice President--assuming a Biden win--that the VP would be able to take over many of the functions of the Presidency with Biden being no more than a figurehead. This is basically the Dick Cheney version of a Biden VP, which is nothing more than ironic since Joe Biden critiqued Dick Cheney’s authority in the Bush administration during the 2008 campaign.
2. Should Biden die while in office, then obviously the Vice President would take over.
IF you don’t think these two things are possible regarding Joe Biden, then I suggest you watch either of these two videos and then think about this a little bit more.

Review of some of the planetary “cabinet” that will be applicable to presidential inauguration charts:
Sun (Su) = President
Moon (Mo) = the (US) public
Jupiter (Ju) = VP &/or cabinet
Mars (Ma) = ruler of the first house (Aries)
If aspecting the Sun, can bring danger to the life of the president
Not applicable if conjunct (in the same sign as the Sun)
Saturn (Sa) = ruler of the 10th house/government
placement indicative of the presidential administration
“R” next to a planetary abbreviation means the planet is “retrograde”
“As” = Ascendant/1st house
Capricorn is the sign of the 10th house, which indicates the government. It is ruled by Saturn.

1961 US Presidential Inauguration chart & Lyndon Johnson (aka LBJ)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For those not familiar with this portion of US history, John F. Kennedy was elected President in November 1960 with Lyndon Johnson as his running mate. LBJ was a powerful senator in the US Senate prior to becoming Vice President. He was minority and majority leader for the Democrats in the Senate prior to running for president in 1960 and then becoming JFK’s running mate.
What’s notable in this chart is that Mars aspects the Sun via its 8th aspect. In Vedic astrology, Mars aspects houses 4th, 7th, and 8th from itself. Mars is located in Ardra nakshatra, a nakshatra/constellation often associated with tragedy, and is located in the 3rd house, which is the house of short travels. JFK was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, while on a campaign trip.
Jupiter--the planet indicative of the VP--is in its own sign of Sagittarius, since Jupiter rules that sign. This makes Jupiter strong in the chart and is indicative of why LBJ became president.
2001 US Presidential Inauguration chart & Dick Cheney
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dick Cheney is generally considered to be the most powerful vice president in American history. George W. Bush allowed Cheney to be basically the head of government during his first term in office while Bush functioned more as head of state.
Mars in this chart is located in the 7th house and aspects both the Sun via its 4th aspect and Jupiter via its 8th aspect. While neither Bush or Cheney died in office, the September 11th attack may be the “danger” to the life of the president (and also the VP) in this chart. It has never been conclusively confirmed if the White House was the target of Flight 93 or not.
While Cheney never directly ascended to the presidency, you can see elements of his strength as VP via the Saturn & Jupiter conjunction in Taurus/Krittika nakshatra. Saturn as dispositor of the Sun, due to rulership of Capricorn, is weak at only 12 minutes of position in Taurus. Planets are weaker when they are less than a full degree in the sign; it’s just like when people normally move from house to house, how good can you be at your job when you’re moving? Jupiter has a much stronger position since it is fully in the sign at 7 degrees and 21 minutes of Taurus.

2021 US Presidential Inauguration chart
Tumblr media
Since I just went over the position of Jupiter in two previous charts, let’s take a close look at it in this chart. Jupiter is located in Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of Jupiter’s debilitation; it is at its maximum debilitation at 5 degrees Capricorn. This Jupiter is past that point; however, Jupiter is weakened by being in this sign even though it is conjunct the sign ruler (Saturn), i.e. neecha bhanga/fall breaker. Hence, the vice president in this administration will not be more powerful than the president à la Dick Cheney
Mars is located in the first house and aspects the 4th (Cancer), 7th (Libra), and 8th (Scorpio) houses from itself. Since Mars does not aspect either the Sun or Jupiter, it appears unlikely that either the president or vice president will be in harm’s way, so to speak. Hence, this president will live to the end of his term.
That is one of the reasons why I do NOT believe Joe Biden will be president.
The other one is due to the placement of Saturn (ruler of the 10th house/government) in Uttara Ashadha nakshatra. The 1961 Inauguration chart also has Saturn in Uttara Ashadha nakshatra (USh), even though it was in Sagittarius. One quarter of Uttara Ashadha is in Sagittarius while the other three-fourths are in Capricorn. (Capricorn has three nakshatras--Uttara Ashadha, Shravana, and Dhanishtha. Saturn was in Dhanishtha for Bill Clinton’s first term.)
Anyhow, nakshatras have different qualities even if they are within the same sign, such as Capricorn. Uttara Ashadha means “later victory” or “the latter undefeated.” Because of that, it is often associated with victories or success that come later in life. Its ruling deity is the ten Visvadevas (or universal principles), who are the sons of Dharma and Vishva. They are--in English--Goodness, Truth, Will Power, Skillfulness, Time, Desire, Firmness, Ancestor, Brightness, and Summit. Together their shakti/power is to grant/give an unstoppable victory. Due to the Visvadevas as the ruling deity, there tends to be an idealistic quality to this nakshatra.
Personally, I don’t see any of the idealistic qualities of Uttara Ashadha being present in either Donald Trump OR Joe Biden. Joe Biden is a politician who has been in and around Washington for almost 50 years. His family members, including at least one brother and his surviving son, have been closely associated with corruption and earning money off being related to Joe Biden. Biden is par for the course on current political corruption within D.C. and seems perfectly okay with it. He may be verbally charming, but he is not an idealist by any means. If I was going to pick a nakshatra in Capricorn for a Biden administration, then I’d pick either Shravana or Dhanistha but certainly not Uttara Ashadha.
Regarding the 1961 chart, the concept of “later victory” with regards to Uttara Ashadha can be seen via the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This was a landmark piece of legislation that had its roots not just in the civil rights era of the 1950s, but all the way back to the post-Civil War Reconstruction era in the 19th century. The fact that it took about 100 years for these rights to become the law of the land is indicative of a “later victory” on the subject. The victory for the fight of civil rights did not come easily or quickly. Instead it came “later” after years--okay, decades--of fighting for those rights. (Of course, you can also think of the idealism associated with the Kennedy Administration as well, i.e speeches by Kennedy or the start of the Peace Corps.)
At this point in time, I am convinced that the modern equivalent of a “later victory” in 2021 would be Medicare for All.  The struggle for a universal health care system in the US has gone on since at least Franklin D. Roosevelt, and that has been more than 75 years at this point.
Another point I would add about this chart is that Mars--the karaka/indicator of construction--is strong in the first house (own sign) in this chart and conjunct the Moon/lord of the 4th house (home & real estate). I would expect there to be a lot of construction initiated during this administration. The 1957 inauguration chart (Eisenhower’s second term) also had Mars in the first house (Aries/Ashwini nakshatra). In summer 1956 President Eisenhower signed the bill that created 41,000 miles of interstate highway. I’d say that with Mars in the 1st house of the 1957 chart, you can see the significant amount of construction going on at the end of the 1950s.
Still, with everything I’ve written so far, it still seems to me that Bernie Sanders will be the next president. And just as a reminder, the presidential inauguration chart is not a chart about the primaries or election day; it’s about the administration that begins on January 20, 2021.
